Quote As noted earlier, Florida Championship Wrestling, the official developmental territory of WWE, held its annual Talent Evaluation Clinic this past weekend. The FCW Clinic is the only clinic where WWE producers, WWE scouts and WWE Superstars are in attendance to evaluate potential WWE talent. The camp was attended by over 50 dreamers and it is believed that only a handful would imminently land contracts with the organization.

A photo has surfaced online of the group of female talent who took part in WWE's Evaluation Clinic. The photo shows a load of Divas on their lunch break outside a local restaurant. Among those trying out include former TNA performer Josette Bynum (a/k/a Sojournor Bolt, Josie), former TNA performer Bonnie Maxon (a/k/a Ms. Payton Banks, Rain), AAA Women's Champion Sexy Star, independent wrestler She Nay Nay (notably competed against Beth Phoenix last October on an episode of Friday Night SmackDown), and a pair of blonde twins from Ohio Valley Wrestling known as The Blossom Twins. You can click here to view the photo of all the Divas.

It has yet to be indicated whether any of the females who tried out at the clinic were offered WWE contracts. At least in Bynum's case, it would appear that WWE has once again declined signing the multi-time OVW Women's Champion as she wrote on her Facebook account on Tuesday that she would be touring Canada next month. She performed for OVW when the promotion served as WWE's developmental program, but was never offered a contract. Company officials also declined signing Bynum to a contract following a September 2008 tryout in Louisville, Kentucky.

Sojournor Bolt should no way be given a developmental contract and I can't see her being what WWE are looking for.

Payton Banks wouldn't be a bad signing and would have at least one fan in our very own Ryan.

If another pair of twins for the divas division are signed, that could spell the end of the future of the Bella's.

I don't think so.  The Blossom Twins are from the UK aren't they?  They trained with All Star I believe and pretty much made their way straight over to the States.  I don't know if they've had any work done but IMO they're not a scratch on the Bellas.  Haven't ever seen them wrestle, but what does that matter when it comes to being a female the WWE?

Florida Championship Wrestling, the official developmental territory of World Wrestling Entertainment, held its annual Talent Evaluation Clinic three weeks ago. The FCW Clinic is the only clinic where WWE producers, WWE scouts and WWE Superstars are in attendance to evaluate potential WWE talent. The camp was attended by 63 dreamers and it is believed that only a select few would imminently land contracts with the organization.

The company reaction was that of the 63 people who tried out at the clinic, paying $1,000 to be seen, that approximately 50 of them had no business being there. In particular, AAA Women's Champion Sexy Star received harsh reviews as company officials felt her work was terrible, her English was terrible, and that she was overweight. They also felt she wasn't pretty looking without her mask on. John Laurinaitis told those in FCW that when it comes to hiring female talent, the standard is if they aren't pretty enough to appear in Playboy, then they shouldn't be hired.

The only wrestler known to have been offered a developmental contract is Mattias Wild, who was trained by former WWE performer Lance Storm. Company officials were said to be impressed with his fundamental ability. Others wrestlers notably taking part in the tryout include independent women's grapplers New York Knockout Nikki (also known as Toni the Top in Wrestlelicious) and She Nay Nay. Regarding Nikki, it said that she 'absolutely' doesn't have the look company officials like.

$50,000 lost by people who just were not what WWE management were looking for.

She should have done her homework. If she knew anything it's that after the Mickie James storyline weight is everything, and that no divas who can't speak English good ever go far.

Johnny Ace is a tosspot and has been for a long time. Wrestling ability is way more important than looks. Guess Awesome Kong isn't going to be signed anytime soon Cry

Although this has been common knowledge for a long time, it seems like a bit of a dick move to actually come out and say it.

Maybe WWE should change their screening program now that they are a PG company, the 'Playboy looks' stuff is an irrelevant trait as none of them will be allowed to do it anyway now. They need a different looking diva, as most of them are interchangeable Barbie's with nothing standing out apart from their inflateable tits. This masked woman would of been perfect, sloppy ring work and no-speak-Americano never stopped WWE from signing people before.

I agree with you though.  If they were serious about the women's division (which they clearly aren't anyway) bringing in some variety would work wonders, a la TNA's Knockouts this time last year.  Varied looks and characters would freshen it and add some genuine interest.  Serena has been the only addition with something different on offer and although she can't wrestle for toffee she is over.  I'm actually surprised WWE haven't signed Kong as I'd have thought they'd love her.  They're missing a great opportunity.  Virtually every divas match is the same and there's only so much you can do with swimsuit and ball gown matches.

I also read somewhere that Johnny Ace said they are only looking at new Diva talent ages 18-25.  So that alone rules out a ton of female wrestlers.  Sexy Star is 27.  Rain/Payton Banks is 28.  Sojo Bolt is 32.  So basically any woman with any training and some experience is already out.

I think it would be more acurate to say that the standards for WWE Divas is limited to whatever it is that gets Johnny Ace off.
