A "Steampunk" setting is set in the past, mostly in victorian era britain or wild west era america, however due to different evolution in mankinds history technology has already advanced to some level beyond what was possible back then. Also Steam Engines are the most used variant of powering devices, hence the "Steam" in steampunk.

Also, there´s info in the "Rules..." thread.

I have some planned developments in mind for my character, which needs another character to instigate, how do I go about arranging it?

Goggle "steampunk" and you will find plenty of images.  Films like League of Extraordinary Gentlemen and Wild Wild West are considered to be steampunk.   Other films have also used steampunk elements like the villain Kroene in Hellboy: he is steampunk version of a cyborg, instead of computerized components he has clockwork gears and requires a wind-up key.

Steampunk could be summarizes with the question: What would be considered science fiction in Victorian times?  A robot for example might be envisioned as being steam-powered and running via clock-work gears.  Relativitally speaking, futuristic technology made from the equipment available at that time.

Steampunk version of a Star Wars AT-AT.

PM me and tell me your situation.

Also, its ok to come up with minor NPCs, but if at all possible, try not to get too detailed with them.

Wait until I start the general storyline thread on Friday. You'll be able to post it all then.

Quite looking forward to this, it's been a while since i've had to really think about creative writing, so this should get the juices flowing again.

For reference, the most recent version of the three musketeers also has some steampunk elements in it, to the degree where I called it a decent steampunk movie but a bad three musketeers.

Just a reminder, the storyline thread is going up Friday. Everyone remember to check the settings info thread if you have any questions.

I'm waiting for a few people to enter their character bios (*coughcough*), and if they do so before Friday I might consider starting the storyline thread. But Friday is the latest it'll go up for sure.

Interaction between the other people's characters (rather than everyone having individual, exclusive storylines) is optimum, so it'd be wise to plan out who you would best want to interact with, and PM that person to see if they have any ideas. But it works best on an "Action- Reaction" basis.
