Info available in the "Rules and Regulations" thread of this subforum.

The general consensus from the people involved so far is that a contemporary setting is the way to go fro this next series. Anyone else disagree or agree?

I will PM some more people and get some more activity. Once that's accomplished, a Character's Bio thread and Storyline Thread will expand from there.

We could also move the time frame slightly more into the future, to give access to some technology that would clearly not exist today.... idc either way...

btw, i just read my own character bio from Supers2.... damn, that guy had potential... whenever did I come up with that much greatness?

A) Yeah I figured that would happen anyways. Most superhero stories are set in the present day and just add in the technology that's more advanced but no one really worries about it haha.

B) Yeah it was a major disappointment that you never continued with it.

I don't have a preference on the setting, I'm fine with whatever the majority want.

Doing present day terrain with futuristic technology would be brilliant, it opens up so many possibilities and would be a hell of a lot easier than our last effort lol.

Judging from the time frame we started the last one up, I chalk my lack of involvement up to personal issues. I may rework the character though and use it again....

on the time setting, what baz said

The character bio thread is open, will wait for some people to get active in it before setting up a timetable in regards to when the story starts.

I could have fun writing the ultimate politically correct hero.

Allegiance: Hero

Name:
The Black Dash

Alias: C-Section

Outfit:
A black with purple and yellow polkadots spandex leotard covering her entire body except for her pot belly and face, and a thin black bandana that covers her eyes, and black cat ears, because they're just too cute.

Secret Identity:
African American teenage girl Laquishalotta (or Laquisha for short) Washington was gang-raped by white jock water-polo players, disowned by her ultra conservative catholic and republican well-to-do parents, and gave birth to conjoined sextuplets who were separated shortly after birth and had to undergo extensive reconstructive surgery and as a result left with multiple physical and mental handicaps.

Now 4 years later, at the age of 19, Laquisha courageously balances a full schedule as a mother, student, employee, and superheroine. While tenaciously holding down a part-time job as a social worker helping fight the atrocities of inner city living, Laquisha also graciously donates her precious time to the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial Preschool for "Gifted" Youngsters where her children, LeBron, Leroy, LaRhonda, Lolita (Laquisha swears one of the boys who raped her must have been Mexican, even though, water-polo? Really?) LaToya, and Chad (never would Laquisha have guessed a boy THAT WHITE could come out of HER vajayjay) attend, helping serve superhumanly yummy snacks, to retarded children as they learn to master basic motor skills like walking, talking, and going poopy on the potty, and in Chad's case, advanced calculus. From time to time Laquisha will also be called in to help clean up after her children when they 'unite' their own infantile superpowers on the playground and things get 'nuclear'. She is also diligently paying her way through community college (not because it's all she can afford, because she has received multiple ivy league scholarships, but because, 'by god if it's good enough for the US government to fund with taxpayer money, it's good enough for me!'), where she majors in neurobiology, and minors in social economics (just in case).

Laquisha's true passion though lies in vanquishing evil when she moonlights as 'Black Dash' a superheroine name she came up with one evening when looking at her Cesarian Section scar on the lower half of her pot belly in the mirror while flexing. Once a point of embarrassment, Laquisha courageously uses her c-section scar as an emblem of her strength. Wearing a low-waisted spandex leggings adorned with purple and yellow polkadots and a spandex cropped-top with long arms with matching purple and yellow polkadots, Laquisha proudly shows off her potbelly and C-Section scar. Supervillians heckle her calling her not, 'Black Dash', but rather 'C-Section'. However Laquisha is undeterred in her choice of costume, knowing that she serves as a point of inspiration to all other young black women held down by the man.

Powers:
The ability to make people smile at will. Now, this may not seem too special a power to some, but Laquisha has found on numerous occasions that a little happiness in people's live goes a long ways.

Origin of Powers:
It's just one of those things she found she could do, which lay dormant in her rebellious early teens as a gangbanger, when she was (ironically) getting gangbanged by the polo team (and that one Mexican, where ever he came from). During the course of her rape she made the men smile so much that once they were done with their act of group love, they let her live, and each contributed money for a cab ride home (and a little extra for a visit to planned parenthood, which she used as seed money to start a charity to help orphaned children), rather than killing her as they had originally intended.

Weakness:
Laquisha is an upbeat, helpful and courageous young woman active in her community, however she constantly wrestles with her inner diva, and frequently reverts to her native tongue of Ebonics, making it hard for the educators, and politicians she works with to understand her, and serves as another point about which supervillains enjoy heckling her. Needless to say Laquisha has quite a stiff upper lip.

She also appears to have quite an affinity for 'cheetos', and other cheesy goodness, which serves as the reason she weights a hefty 192 pounds at only 5 foot 2 inches tall. It also contributes to the risk factors innate to all women of her ethinicity, the dread 'D' word: Diabetes, and also heart disease.

Catchphrases:
"I once served as an intern for the 'Re-elect Barack Obama' campaign, so I'm not as naive as you might think!"

"The struggle is real."

Motivation: To serve as an inspiration to all other young black women held down by the man.

Height: 5 feet 2 inces
Weight: 192 lbs.
Hair Colour: Black

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Somehow I don't think that character would be welcome here though. Typical, she's used to such treatment.
I really wish C-Section's catchphrase could instead be "The struggle is real."
