OK so pretty much everyone knows Bliss and Mandy at this point.

But check out Daria Berenata, the MMA fighter to the left in the picture above. She's had a number of years training in both Judo and MMA, and it shows when she is in the ring. This is her first match under this gimmick (she's jobbed to Nia Jax about 9 months ago), and she LOOKS like she could take out Ronda Rousey or Cris Cyborg. Obviously she can't, but looks mean a lot in pro-wrestling.

She's only 22, younger than Paige, and her finisher is the gogoplata (variation of Taker's Hell's Gate). Her striking was awesome, and her presence in the ring looks like she is legit AF.

I hope she gets a monster push in the new NXT Women's division, and is built to be the woman to take the NXT women's championship from Asuka, perhaps at next wrestlemania weekend's Takeover event.

This is the perfect gimmick for today's climate with the fans, and as long as she shows she can chain wrestle and sell (kind of huge selling points) and her promos are simple, to the point, but epically brutal bitchy like you would expect to see from Cris Cyborg (she needs to dumb herself down, however smart she may actually be if she plays the pure athlete roll of someone that can't put more than a few words together, but will brutalize her opponents in the ring and talk nothing but technical jargon just like every high level athlete ever after a game) she'll get over fast and huge.

That said, she did VERY LITTLE in the ring at this point, but what she did was done to maximum effect and I marked at every little thing she did.

I can not wait to see what she can do in a singles match. She is easily THE woman to watch in NXTs rebuilding women's division.

It took them the better part of a year, but finally she is getting her televised singles matches in NXT.

She has been renamed Sonya Deville. I suppose it was too much to see her keep her real name, but tbh Sonya Deville is a pretty good name. Love the name Sonya for a woman fighter of any type.

She had a single fight this week against that swinger chick who is a former MP. I actually liked her too, not sure the gimmick works for her, but I gotta admit that gimmick would work wonders as arm candy for Corey Graves if he were still wrestling.

Sonya had great strikes once again and she looked stiff AF. Yet again I'm left hoping to see a strong style/MMA kind of match against Asuka. I hope next match she uses the gogoplata as her submission.

This chick could easily sell herself as one bad bitch, I'd only want to see her arms about 3 times as thick just to sell the gimmick.

Still a mark for her right out of the gates.

As i'm now watching NXT again i'll be keeping up more Rico haha but yeah thought I recognised her from before. A name change and a chance to go solo is a step in the right direction. With her gimmick they don't need to be doing glorified squash matches with her as they can have her in a little bit of trouble before finishing the match out of nowhere and the gimmick would still work.

Now that NXT is finally past all that NXT takeover aftershow crap that I just can't stand watching, the show is looking pretty decent again.

Daria/Sonja has a women's title match against Ember Moon next week. Can't imagine she'll win since she's already on the main roster, but the match ought to be pretty telling of how far these two have both come. Now that Asuka is gone, they need to carry the division, and tbh I think there is a good chance they can do it.

Looking forward to seeing how that match goes despite knowing the outcome.

BTW look at the top of the page, it appears WWE brass may have had their eyes on Sonja & Mandy in a 3 woman faction for over a year.
