Me too, the only game that comes close after all these years for me is GTA: San Andreas. Sonic 2 was the best too, all these previous people are right. Did not know about that cheat though LoL. I was a pure gamer yo.

I agree, Sonic has gone far downhill. The last Sonic game that was acceptable was Sonic Heroes. Everything after that sucked. Generations was okay, even though it had it's share of problems

Sonic Adventure 2 was the last great Sonic game that was made, everything since then had no business being made. 4 was just horrible, in terms of gameplay and the controls.
Since Steam had all of the Genesis sonic games, I decided to pick those up...been playing Sonic 3 and 3D for days straight so far.

That is true, but the last game I could tolerate was Sonic Heroes (the GameCube one) Everything else was the epitome of shit

You are entitled to that opinion, but I liked that game. While it did have a lot of glitches and errors on Xbox and PS2, It was still playable. GameCube had the least amount of problems, which is why I own it on that system. The levels were good and the concept of the game was pretty cool. The final boss was just awesome, but I didn't like the fact that it was so easy. I also hated the voice acting. Other than that, it was a pretty enjoyable game, and yes, generations and adventure 1 and 2 are quality (besides the time eater in generations and the master emerald stages in sonic adventure 1 and 2)

Yesterday, it was the 25th Anniversary of Sonic. And I cannot believe that it has actually been that long.

Sonic was the first of it's kind, presenting high speed sidescrolling gameplay which had never been seen before, and the best you could possibly get in video game graphics for that specific time period. So much color, so much detail, and Sonic going around those loop de loop things, and rolling into a fucking ball. It was astounding. And this was at the time where there was a lot of arguing over which company was better. Nintendo or Sega, and it seemed like you had to own consoles of one of the other, unless your parents were super rich or something. Most kids in my neighborhood at the time had the Nintendo consoles, but me on the other hand, I had Sega, and a majority of the games were sports games. And then there was one day, which happened to be on June 23rd, 1991, when I was 15 years old, my parents came home with a new game for the Sega Genesis called Sonic The Hedgehog. At first, I thought it sounded stupid, but then I started playing and literally went fucking berserk. The first thing that struck me about it is that it was so colorful, had this insane palette of colors, all the blue skies and green hills, even all the hills seemed to have all this plant life, and then you hit that thing at the end of Act 3 where all the animals come out, and all of the music was just so catchy. But the biggest thing about it to me was the speed. Nothing had ever been seen like it before. He's rolling into a ball, next thing you know, he's running around a bunch of loops, bouncing off of springs and going in the opposite direction, oy vey. Right there and then, I knew that this was gonna be something big. So at this point, I basically have to gather everyone at my house since I had the Genesis, and it fucking blew everyone's mind, and so there came the trend of everybody switching over to the Sega Genesis from the Super Nintendo, as there wouldn't be another big name Mario game until Super Mario 64. Meanwhile for Sonic, Sonic 2 was released in 1992, and Sonic 3 and Knuckles followed in 1994. There hasn't been a console release since Sonic Generations in 2011, but there shouldn't be any denying that Sega has some big plans for this particular anniversary of Sonic.

This game right here was the game that made up the majority of my later teenage years.
