Quote The 1000th episode of Smackdown is scheduled to take place on October 16, 2018 and it is expected that WWE will make that a major show, much like they are doing with the Raw 25th anniversary show in January. Both shows are likely to do big viewership numbers and in the case of the Smackdown 1000th episode, it will be only five days before a Raw brand PPV, meaning there is a good chance Raw wrestlers will be on the show to promote their storylines heading into the PPV.

I hope it's a major show. Reaching one thousand episodes is a big deal and Smackdown should get some love like Raw is getting next month.

It's a chance to promote the Raw PPV a few days later (like it says), but also means they could start cross brand stuff ready for Survivor Series a month later.

They should get Taz back on commentary with Michael Cole for the night, as the best pairing the show has had.

no fucking way should that episode of Smackdown be used to push a Raw PPV. have former Smackdown talent, sure, but talk like this, nearly a year before the show is even prepared, shows that SDL is definitely considered the b show.

and good God, not Taz. i'd rather Rock came out at the top, declared it the show he made, and he work the matches that night as a one off. calling with who, I don't know yet.

I would run a segment with Cena, Orton, Batista and Lesnar in which ends with them all hitting their finisher on a heel that comes out, trash talks, and declares themselves the face of SmackDown.

Got to agree with Monkee. SmackDown is the house the rock built, he needs to be involved, most logically at the open. Tazz is toxic. Might as well get Scott Steiner and LaVar Ball and Mr. T to come out and have an improvised triple threat rap battle if you're going to put Tazz on commentary.

Put Heyman on commentary with Michael Cole.

ah, fuck, how did I not think of Heyman?!

Heyman and Rock would be gold, but yeah. you'd have to have Cole, potentially JR, and i'd love the original oval set to make a reappearance for the night.

so, appearances by Lesnar, Vicki Guererro, Mysterio, Malenko, JBL (obvs) and Ron Simmons in a similar spot to what they did on Raw with Heath Slater, but if it's used to build the Raw PPV, then it just shows how bad the WWE see the show.

Edge and Taker have to appear on this one. Plus if they need to use Cena...please let him rap battle someone LOL

no, even watching at the time, he had some of the weakest rhymes ever. good insults, yes, but they could have been delivered in a traditional way and still gotten over, the rap shit was, well, shit.

literally, the only rap battle i'd have been prepared to sit through would have been him versus Macho Man Randy Savage,

I wouldn't say Taker needs to appear, but any tag team match made up on the fly has to be announced by Teddy Long, obvs.

Another couple of ideas I have is sending Enzo out for a promo in which he says he is the greatest cruiserweight to ever step foot in a SmackDown ring. This leads to Chavo Guerrero, Gregory Helms, Rey Mysterio, etc. to come out and attack Enzo.

I would also run a Angle, Booker, JBL, Show, and Cena backstage segment.

I'd be fine with seeing Kurt Angle come out dressed as and pretending to be John Cena and having a campy rap battle with the real Cena.

Cena becoming the Dr of Thuganomics again for a night would be must see TV.

Talent you tend to associate with Smackdown are Edge, The Undertaker, Cena and The Rock.
