Quote We now know why WWE officials have been pushing Sin Cara on television.

PWinsider.com is reporting that reason behind his recent push is due to him signing a new multi-year contract with the sports entertainment company. He recently had his own sneaker line revealed.

The Mexican star picked up a win over United States Champion Baron Corbin on last week’s episode of SmackDown Live and is slated to have a rematch with Corbin on tonight’s show.

Contract running down = Jobbing or barely ever seen.

Sign a new contract = Made to look much stronger and seen regularly.

Surprised to see him given a new long term contract as I thought he'd have been one of the favourites to be released.

I'm not a fan of Sin Cara or Kalisto and they both seem to be getting pushes lately - must be some major WWE touring of Mexico up coming

WWE always love to keep a hispanic wrestler or two about Adders. Since Hunico went under the mask Sin Cara has been consistent. If he's released his own line of trainers too, he's obviously doing something right somewhere.

Quote Not only has WWE acquired a former Impact Wrestling Champion and re-signed one of their top Superstars on the SmackDown Live brand, but a third big signing has been reported today.

As noted, WWE has signed former X-Division and Impact Tag-Team Champion DJZ (aka Zema Ion) and has reportedly re-signed A.J. Styles, as reported by multiple sources on Monday afternoon.

Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com is now reporting that WWE veteran Sin Cara has also re-signed with the company.

Sin Cara, real name Jorge Arias, saw his existing WWE deal near its' end and there was talk that he would be parting ways with the promotion, however it appears that things got worked out, as he has reportedly signed a new deal to remain with WWE for the forseeable future.

I'm shocked. I genuinely thought that E would rightly let him go.

The character just never gets over and it's wasting a roster place someone new could get a chance with.

I guess 90% of the time he will be hidden away on the jobber shows like Main Event.

Hunico had a chance to get over... Sin Cara died when Mystico started pussy-footing around and being a little bitch. Hunico couldn't save that character, but let him be his old NXT character and maybe they can make some money off the guy. If memory serves, Hunico was a decent talker.

Agreed. I quite liked the Hunico character, if I remember right it was similar to the Mexicools gimmick which I also quite enjoyed even if they were horribly stereotypical.

Sin Cara was a failed experiment, Mystico couldn't work the WWE style and flopped and then started being a bitch about it just because he wasn't a good enough worker to adapt and overcome like so many other foreign talents have done. They should have abandoned the character once Mystico headed back to Mexico.

Sin Cara has today asked for his release from WWE.

Hed probably be a big name for someone like AEW and I can only imagine the sort of matches hed have with the likes of Fenix and PAC but who knows where hell end up

Hunico was denied his release. People forget he was an NXT guy tagging with the Bullet Club's Tanga Loa AKA Camacho. Hunico worked matches as Sin Cara while Mystico was completely flopping as a WWE employee and they needed someone to fill in on occasion, but the booking of Sin Cara never changed after Mystico left. Hunico is still the silent boring spot monkey Mystico wanted to be.

I don't blame Hunico, who has much more personality, for wanting more, and then upon not getting anything and remaining unused, to want to leave the company.

However, he's been denied his release it seems, which sucks for him because you know WWE ain't gonna use him at all.
