Quote As many of us have expected, the plan for Shinsuke Nakamura is indeed to move him up to the main roster shortly, likely after WrestleMania. The advertising for the upcoming NXT tour of the UK does not include Nakamura so they sort of gave that away this week but they had to get the ads out in time so they can promote ticket sales. Dave Meltzer noted that there are others that may be brought up as well.

Nakamura will be challenging Bobby Roode for the NXT Championship at NXT Takeover: Orlando on the night before WrestleMania so it seems likely that Roode will retain. Other than Kassius Ohno, I don’t see another guy that would be able to step in as a top challenger for Roode after Mania weekend. Adam Cole is believed to be on his way to WWE so perhaps he’ll be the next guy to challenge him unless they want to do the Ohno vs. Roode rematch or they can get enough steam behind Roderick Strong. Ohno lost to Roode on this week’s episode of NXT TV.

Asuka is included on the advertising so she is likely not moving up to the main roster in the near future.

I think he'll head to Smackdown at the next draft when AJ heads to Raw as expected. This will be a good move as Nakamura will be a good choice to fill the void left by Styles. I would like to see the big names switch to Raw and Smackdown become the home of NXT guys like Balor and Nakamura.1

My main issue with him on the main roster will still be his lack of English that will harm the promo's he'll need to be making on weekly TV, but i'll give him a chance.

As for Asuka, I would take it with a pinch of salt about her not moving up. They're bringing in Hojo who'll take the Asuka spot on NXT, and Ember Moon is ready to run with the belt, so is Billie Kay & Peyton Royce. I'm assuming Asuka will debut on WM in the SD womens match then vacate the NXT title much like Paige did in order to keep her "streak".

I've heard that Elias Sampson is going up too, that's a bit of a strange one. I wonder if Tye and The Revival will follow suit.

TBH I don't think any of those call-ups are a good idea. Author's of Pain with Paul Ellering should go up, and that's it. Asuka should go up, except that she's gonna need some kind of special protection because of her English skills. It could work, just like it would work with Nakamura, and I think Asuka is needed on the main roster far more than Nakamura is.

Nakamura however I think ought to take the NXT title again, and Roode should go up instead.

Now, I'm fairly confident that Nakamura IS going to go up to the main roster at this point, but Roode would be the smarter pick.

And aside from Roode, Asuka, AoP, and maybe Tye Dillinger, no one else SHOULD go up yet.

Nakamura will get over, I think, as long as he is properly protected the same way Asuka would need, but I think it would be wise for Asuka to go first, and let Nakamura's English speaking abilities continue to grow so that he is as fluent as possible before he is plunged into the men's division.

In the women's division, Asuka doesn't need English fluency nearly so much as Nakamura will.

Roode on the other hand is PPV main event ready now, and there is a pile of cash sitting on the table just waiting to be taken by having Roode make his PPV debut against an outgoing babyface Chris Jericho.

That said, it does indeed seem like Roode is sticking around in NXT, and Nakamura is going to the main roster. Doesn't seem very smart to me, but whatever. That's WWE logic for you.

Last rumour I heard was Nakamura, Dillinger, The Revival and Elias Sampson are all main roster bound after Wrestlemania.

Sampson is not suited to NXT, he has a look and style that will suit him better on Raw and Smackdown, think he will be a nice addition to the mid-card on either brand.

Nakamura I hope goes to Smackdown, he can be a top talent there, the lack of English doesn't matter as just keep his promos minimal and rely on his charisma and ring skill to get him over.

Dillinger is done in NXT and like Sampson will slot in to the mid-card on either brand.

The Revival I just hope can get over on the main roster and don't go the same way as The Ascension. If the fan reaction is positive they will be welcome in either brands tag-division.

I agree that Bobby Roode is ready for the big time, more than ready, but I think management want him to have a good run in NXT first, can see him moving up later in the year though.
