Quote Shelton Benjamin comes out to the ring and starts talking about his partner Chad Gable. He says Gable is an inspirational wrestler. He says his Twitter account got hacked last night, and he would never say those things about Chad. He adds that Shelton wants his own opportunities, and he has asked Paige to give him some big competition tonight. Shelton looks to the stage and wants to see what they've got for him. Randy Orton's music hits, and we have a match. As Orton is walking to the ring, Jeff Hardy's music hits, and U.S. Champion Jeff Hardy comes down the ramp and walks right past Orton. Hardy gets in the ring as Orton stands on the ramp.

- Jeff Hardy vs. Shelton Benjamin: This one appears to be a non-Title match. The opening bell sounds and Shelton goes right to work on Hardy, pummeling him down to the mat. Jeff fights back and goes up top, but Shelton cuts him off and hits a knee to the face in the corner. Shelton looks for a superplex, but Jeff fights him off and hits the Whisper In The Wind for a two count. Jeff looks for a Twist of Fate, but Shelton evades it and starts fighting back. Shelton looks for the Paydirt, but Jeff blocks it and mule kicks Shelton into the corner. Shelton blocks a kick, but Jeff successfully executes the Twist of Fate. Jeff goes up top and hits the Swanton Bomb for the three count.

Winner: Jeff Hardy

Slagging off his former partner makes no sense when they won't be fueding and both are staying heel.

He's going to get lost in the mix, because Smackdown is so strong now his push will be way down priorities.

I think he will find his niche as a steady hand who puts over guys before they move on to bigger and better things.

I agree - Shelton will fade into the mix now

Hes a decent wrestler and has decent vocal skills but he just doesnt seem like someone that is going to get any form of push

Then again Smackdown is the land of opportunity allegedly

He struggled in his younger days as a solo guy. I hope he does better this time around.

Quote Shelton Benjamin vs. Randy Orton: Jeff Hardy comes out, but Randy Orton interrupts his entrance and walks past him to the ring. The opening bell sounds and they lock up, and Shelton takes it to the corner. They fight back and forth, and Orton looks for the RKO early on but he avoids it. Shelton starts putting the boots to Orton and works him over in the corner. Orton comes back and dumps Shelton outside, then brings him up on the apron. Orton looks for the middle rope DDT, but Shelton fights out and turns it around. Shelton hits a series of kicks and takes control of the match as Jeff Hardy watches. Orton mounts a comeback and successfully hits the middle rope DDT on Shelton. Orton looks for the RKO, but Shelton rolls out to ringside. They fight in front of Jeff Hardy, and Orton hits a back suplex on Shelton on the announce table. Back in the ring, Orton continues beating on Shelton, and a masked man runs in and attacks Jeff Hardy at ringside. The masked man gets in the ring, and Orton rips his mask off to reveal Sunil Singh. Orton gives Singh an RKO, and then Shelton grabs Orton and hits his finishing move for the three count.

Winner: Shelton Benjamin

Typical heel win of taking advantage of a chaotic situation, after a really entertaining match.

I don't mind him being in the midcard title mix. I just wouldn't want him to win a championship because it would mean having to listen to him speak more regularly.

This one took me by surprise. Shelton for me is right there with Jason Jordan. Not much as far as keeping me interested in watching him wrestle. Not sure why they would throw him into the mix with Hardy and Orton but I will say that as far as talent, there is more wrestling talent on Smackdown than RAW with RAW having the bigger stars. Pick your poison.
