Groan. Well of course Shaemus was going to lose in his match against Cage - making Cage look good for the OTL WHC match.
Good long 10 min+ match, with Shaemus displaying his usual wide range of moves and selling Cage well...and he gets done by a lame roll-up pin from Cage at the end.
Is that all Cage has to finish a match? I hope Orton dismembers him at OTL lol.

http://vids.wwe.com/12084/smackdown-christian-vs-sheamus

This was a great match 2 open up SD .. these 2 put on a great TV match and I applaud them for their in ring skills ..

Sheamus has been really under utilized since his WWE title run and I hope he can get something started again by running thru people .. he needs 2 turn it up heading into the summer ..

He needs 2 get back to the WHC title picture every week and not just be a side thought ..

How to go from jobber to number one contender in no time at all simply by changing brands.

He's not winning the title. It's obvious he's just a pawn in the Randall/Christian storyline.

I did love his promo about how little Christian and Mark Henry have won in The E.

The change of brand has helped Sheamus but he still doesnt come across as a legit main-eventer in my opinion, the months of complete buriel on Raw have made sure it will be a while before he can be taken seriously as a legit threat to any of the top talent on Smackdown.

He's only hovering around the main-event picture on SD due to a severe lack of credible heel talent at present on the brand.

I still think Sheamus' longterm future is as a babyface. If Christian turns heel - which I think he will - Sheamus should turn and be built up as the number 2 face behind Orton on the brand.

Shaemus' WHC title match against Orton, saw him booked as a total bad-ass, and a legit contender for the title. What was surprising was that Shaemus totally dominated Orton for most of the match. Every time Orton tried to get a run on, Shaemus would flatten him, to the point where he shrugged off an attempted RKO from Orton.
I was amazed to see Orton putting Shaemus over this way, to the point of simply having no answer to Shaemus' brute strength and raw aggression. Orton deserves a big pat on the back for making Shaemus look like a total beast. Shaemus' had Orton out cold on the mat, and the only way Orton was going to win was by the type of interference hatched by Christian.
Still 2 SD!s until CP. This is going to be a good ride.

I agree with everything you said there.  Sheamus is one of those guys that needs building slowly, he was rushed to the title, and as a result his career was set back.  Personally I am not a big fan of his, but I can see him getting better, and at the moment I see him more as mid-carder who may grow into a main everter later on.  A heel change is needed indeed, he just doesn't convince me in that monster heel role, and I can see the fans getting behind him, if maybe he was given a Steve Austin type face push.
Lifes what you make it.

I choose to out think people, who are too dumb and pick on the rich.

That's my problem with Sheamus being overpushed. It makes Smackdown look shit that a Raw jobber can main event so quickly.

Quite funny with Christian backstage trying to get the ref onside and then getting mad over the 'hurt' shoulder of the ref.

It's a shame they will likely be teaming together soon as heels, putting their differences aside as it would be an entertaining fued.

I actually think this could result in a face-turn for Sheamus.....

Christian is now set to fill one of the top-heel spots, and Jinder Mahal is waiting in the wings as well with Mark Henry also still around in a high mid-card spot.

They seemed to tease a face-turn a little for him this week on Smackdown. I think he could work out better as a face, he has comical elements to his character and should get over purely off the back of being a dominant powerhouse.

Shaemus pretty much got buried after winning KOTR, largely to put Morrison over at the time as a credible contender for the WWE title - and which ended up going nowhere.
He was getting a credible rebuild on RAW as the US champ, after dropping the King Shaemus gimmick, and was totally dominant in that role. His run on SD! is simply building on that - he didn't arrive there as a complete jobber.
He's the best in-ring talent on the blue brand at the moment, and yeah he'd be a terrific face.

Going a bit overboard dont ya think. (not calling you out or anything but I whole heartedly disagree with this) I love sheamus now but Christian is a far better in-ring performer then Sheamus is.

Both are great but Christian is a far better wreestler than Sheamus
