It's really a wonder that Helms had a job for as long as he did.  He's not really done much of anything over the last few years.  The funniest Hurricane was was during the skits with The Rock and those happened over five years ago so for no progress to be made by this guy in that amount of time is amazing.

no big loss to WWE as he wasn´t going anywhere there anyways. Helms was fun to watch when he was himself and cruiserweight champion and when he was the hurricane for the first time but his last run, meh, not so much. anyways, as several others have stated, with Jeff and Shannon around TNA, I expect Greg Helms to wash up there for the occasional appearance at least.

I'm not surprised that "Sugar" Shane Helms...I mean The Hurricane....I mean Gregory Helms...ah hell, you get it! I'm not surprised that he got released. He's done nothing of interest lately and has reached his ceiling in WWE. I wouldn't be surprised to see him show up in TNA with Jeff Hardy and Shannon Moore.

I can see him heading to TNA, I'm sure his OMEGA allies Shannon Moore, Jeff Hardy and Christopher Daniels can pull some strings in getting him a job there, but you won't see him arrive there as The Hurricane, since WWE owns the name.

He was best used as a tag team wrestler (in his WCW run) or as a jobber in helping putting talent over, other than that, he wasn't that important to WWE's plans, especially since The Hurricane gimmick got stale the first run he had with it.

helms is a good wrestler, liked him since since the "sugar shane" and "3 count" days of WCW. WWE did nothing with him. Hopefully he goes to TNA . X division would suit him well.

-- Pro wrestling made TMZ twice today, with both the Kong/Bubba story and the WWE releases appearing on the gossip site. Regarding the Kong vs. Bubba story, TMZ erroneously says that Bubba's "f*** Hati [sic]" comment was made on his radio show (it was made on Twitter). The site is leading the story on releases with a picture of Gregory Helms, and makes reference to his recent arrest possibly (and likely) leading to his WWE firing. I wonder if Chris Jericho will claim TMZ is lying again with the Helms release?

-- Shane Helms' release should come as no surprise obviously. That had been brewing for quite some time now for obvious reasons. It's interesting to note that Matt Hardy is all that's left of their 'clique' (Matt Hardy, Jeff Hardy, Shannon Moore, & Shane Helms). With Jeff Hardy and Shannon Moore in TNA it wouldn't surprise me to see Helms wind up there shortly once his 90 day no-compete clause is up. So Helms gets fired and Jericho gets the World title. That's a double-standard if I ever saw one.

Well yeah ofcourse Helms' release wasnt really a surprise, especially since his arrest and all the crap that has happened over the course of the last two years.

I wouldnt be surprised either to see Mr. Shane Helms rock up in TNA alongside his buddies Jeff Hardy and Shannon Moore... Question is, will Matt Hardy be far behind them?

"So Helms get fired and Jericho gets the World Title. That's a double standard if I ever saw one" - This pretty much hits the nail on the head for me.

I'm not particularly surprised at Helm's release because I think most of us knew it was gonna happen sooner or later at his latest "incident" so it was only a matter of time before this happened. I certainly can see him potentially winding up in TNA but we'll see what happens once his 90 day no compete clause is up.

No, not really it isn't. It was confirmed that Helms got pissed and ran around thumping people INCLUDING Jericho, yes, Jericho was there and drunk but didn't start any shit. I don't get what the writer is alluding to here, Jericho should be released as well? Helms should win a World Title as well?

Matt Hardy commented on the release of both Shane Helms and Maria on his Twitter account.

"Gonna miss traveling with my close friend @HurricaneHelms -You guys make sure to stick with Shane-he's a great human being with a big heart! Also, best of luck to @MariaLKanellis -a really cool & fun to be around lady! I'll miss ya at work MK!"

Aww poor Matt, missing his clique buddy Shane Helms. But yeah I think Matt hinted that Helms may head to WCW... I mean TNA to be with SHannon and Jeff.

If Gregory Shane Helms didn't go to TNA where else might he go?  But the real questions is can 'Sugar Shane' Helms get over with the crowd?

Hey, if TNA would sign Shannon Moore why wouldn't they give Helms a shot?  It's not like it's any guarenteed deal.  If Helms screws up, TNA will just cut him.  Anyway we'll probably be hearing more about this as Helms is looking at a 90 day no-compete period.

So if Jeff Hardy can settle his legal problems...  TNA would want to do what they could to make their offer look as good as possible and having a couple of Jeff's good friends around wouldn't hurt.
