To me, I still see Rollins being a face in the long run. He's too good not to be getting over as a face for his ring work. I think his personality is better suited to being a face as well.
The one thing his heel run is giving him though is a focus on his mic skills, and that's where he needs to improve the most. So to work on this while everyone hates him will put him in a much better spot than where Reigns is, in the opposite role.

Rollins owned Raw last week.

subtle things that were done right were the backstage confrontation with Brock, where it was Brock who broke eye contact and walked away, while Rollins stood his ground.  again, fair play to Brock for selling the curb stomp like a beast, but Rollins is on fire, and was only second in the promo stakes during the contract signing due to a rare, but believable, stint in the mic by Lesnar.  that they both outdid Heyman, and that Rollins outdid Heyman by turning his phrase against him, was just delicious to watch.

BTW, was I the only one who literally facepalmed when Cena, in the show opening promo, said he was going to win title at the Rumble, then go home with the belt until Ziggler et al got their jobs back?  the same title that hasn't been defended on PPV in months?  again, as with the "uproar" over the Ascension saying they are better than the Road Warriors, this was obviously scripted, but unlike the Ascension, surely Cena should realise when something scripted is going to make him and the product look stupid and make a decision to talk the promo through with all involved so it doesn't need to be put in?

Seth Rollins is SO good! I thought breaking The Shield up was a BIG mistake, but no, Rollins hits it out of the park every single time! His promos are only getting better, his in ring has vastly improved, and he's undeniably the best member of the "After-Shield". Sorry Roman Reigns fans. Roman on the hand is the weakest and the "break up" has only exposed all his weaknesses. Dean's the guy who got lost in the shuffle sadly, but I do like Dean.

Yeah, he's a fucking badass.

When The Shield split I always though he'd be the breakout star of the group, but in a totally different role, as a Jeff Hardy type daredevil flyer babyface.

Never thought he'd be a convincing 'no fucks given' bad motherfucker. Closest thing to Stone Cold since the man himself. Makes you realise how far off the CM Punk/Austin comparisons were, Punk is a pussy compared to this guy.

The only thing I don't like is they make Rollins look like a total chicksnh*t. His gimmick is the generic "guy who says stuff but runs away when the heat is on" and that bugs me, but even with that lame gimmick he makes it something entertaining, and his mic work only keeps getting better and better.
The audience keep chanting "You Sold Out" meaning he made a massive impact on them which has not gone away; I mean The Shield break up happened early Summer and they're STILL chanting it! That's some heat the boy's got there, and that heat's only going to help him in the long-term, and when he eventually turns face, he's going to get a MAMMOTH POP because of how low he sunk as a heel, and that can only mean good things for Seth Rollins.

I don't care what anyone says..., the true breakout star of The Shield is Seth Rollins, not Dean Ambrose or Roman Reigns. If I had to make a list it'd go like this:

1. Seth Rollins
2. Dean Ambrose
3. Roman Reigns

^Seth being the highest and therefore THE breakout star, Dean Ambrose being the 2nd and Reigns being DEAD last.

The chicken-shit thing works for him though, unless a heel is a bad-ass like Lesnar traditionally heels have a element of cowardice about them, its how they get heat.
I agree that to date Rollins has progressed the most of the Shield members, now well established as one of the top heels in WWE I see traits of Edge, CM Punk and Shawn Michaels in his character, plus he's ten times the worker that the over-rated bum CM Punk ever was.

I also thought he would find success as a high mid-card Jeff Hardy style babyface so its both surprising and refreshing to see him excelling as a heel, the spot I that I thought would have gone to Ambrose.

I STRONGLY agree with the Edge, CM Punk and Shawn Michaels traits in Rollins character, but I'd throw in a little bit of heel Jericho, too. I also agree how he's better than CM Punk; I mean I liked CM Punk but he really phoned in his matches throughout 2013. He was GREAT in 2011 - 2012, but grew complacent and lazy in 2013 and had like ONE GOOD MATCH at Summerslam against Lesnar.

It is unusual how Dean Ambrose isn't the "breakout heel" so to speak, but more so the smiling babyface despite his "lunatic tendencies", and Reigns is the guy who... well... he's just Roman Reigns.LOL

I can see Rollins in the next year or two being the CM Punk style internet fans darling in a babyface role.

It was nice to see him speak for himself without his lapdogs being around him.

He proved last sunday that he's more than capable of looking an equal in the ring with two greats of the business.

Right now in terms of heel heat and in-ring work Seth Rollins is the best talent in the company.
I have no doubt he will turn face one day but for now keep him heel as he's on fire in the role and clearly having a great time with it. I understand the comparisons to CM Punk and I've made them enough myself in the past but I don't like them as Rollins is ten times the talent that Punk was.

WWE title reign for sure in 2015.
