I like him but he looked out of place next to two Shield guys.

He looked like the annoying kid brother telling them his plan for the match.

He's so stale at the moment which isn't going to change anytime soon.

What we saw last night from Zayn in that backstage segment is a representation of his backstage persona. He annoys the hell out of people with his over planning, but to hear guys like Owens talk, it also goes towards making the match just that much better. Randy Savage was exactly the same way, so making a joke out of Zayn for being meticulous is literally ridiculous.

Quote It appears Sami Zayn's brief push on Raw has likely come to an end. After the injury to Seth Rollins, WWE was forced to push Zayn due to the fact that Roman Reigns was left as the only regularly performing babyface on the Raw roster. With Chris Jericho turning face, as well as Rollins and Finn Balor returning, further pushing Zayn at the moment is not necessary.

He needs to go to SD and start afresh now.

This doesn't much make sense however as Jericho is leaving after WWE Payback, and Balor has a real possibility of turning heel.

Zayn however is someone everyone knows is great, and is every bit as genuinely likable as Daniel Bryan was while actively wrestling. It would not be hard at all to fit Zayn into the same role as Daniel Bryan the wrestler from a few years ago, and WWE and the wrestling industry as a whole would benefit greatly for it.

Quote Jinder Mahal vs. Sami Zayn
While Sami Zayn is making his entrance, Mahal attacks him and stomps him at ringside. Mahal sends him into the steps and knees him in the face. Zayn clutches his shoulder in pain. Mahal punches away at him and sends him into the steps. Mahal then gets him in the ring.
The referee checks on Zayn and starts the match. Mahal attacks Zayn and drops some knees on him. Mahal gives him a back elbow and a low dropkick for a two count. Mahal applies a chin lock. Zayn fights up, but Mahal takes him down and drops some more knees for a two count. Mahal goes back to the chin lock, but Zayn fights up. Mahal takes him down with a high knee. Mahal then taunts the crowd. Zayn quickly catches him with an exploder suplex in the corner and follows up with the Helluva Kick for the win.

Winner by Pinfall: Sami Zayn

He's got to be traded to Smackdown next week, because he's above jobber victories like this.

He would have been a more deserving ATGMBR winner than Mojo.

They could have had him as the new main event partner for Rollins too.
