As if Rusev Day wasn't over enough, WWE started carrying Rusev Day calendars.

The initial order of 2500 that WWE placed sold out in about a month and they ordered a batch of 5000.

Been meaning to pick one up myself. Hoping they put out a daily desk calendar that has 365 days of Rusev facts.

They are lucky to have sold so many, when they stupidly continue to book him as a heel.

Quote Shinsuke Nakamura vs. Rusev: Aiden English does an introduction where he sings and raps about Rusev Day. There are dueling chants in the crowd for “Rusev Day” and “Nakamura.” They go back and forth off the opening bell, but Shinsuke gets the upper hand and starts controlling the pace. Rusev starts to fire up, but Nakamura walks away and taunts him. Rusev rolls outside for a breather and a pep-talk from Aiden.

Rusev taunts Nakamura from ringside, so Nakamura runs outside and drops Rusev. Nakamura puts him up on the apron and hits a running knee to the face. Nakamura rolls Rusev inside, then stares at Aiden and takes his time getting back in the ring. Rusev is able to recover, and he hits a shot to Nakamura’s face and drops him off the apron. Rusev starts beating Nakamura down around ringside before rolling him back in the ring for a two count. Rusev wrestles Nakamura back down to the mat and works on keeping the former NJPW star grounded.

Nakamura locks in a heel hook, but Rusev fights out and hits a big slam for a two count. Rusev starts laying into Nakamura with stomps and knee drops on the mat. Nakamura comes back with a kick, and both men are down. Nakamura is up first and he hits a series of kicks. He hits a couple of running knee strikes in the corner on Rusev for a two count.

Nakamura holds Rusev in a front face lock as Rusev tries to fight his way up. Rusev appears to be selling his leg from the heel hook earlier. Rusev hulks up and hits a fallaway slam to get out of the front face lock. They both get up and start trading strikes until Rusev hits a big boot to the face for a two count.

Rusev goes for another boot, but Nakamura ducks it and starts throwing punches. Rusev fires back with kicks to the leg, but Nakamura dodges one and hits some kicks of his own. Nakamura charges and misses, which leads to Rusev going for the Accolade. Nakamura escapes and hits a spinning heel kick. Nakamura charges, but Rusev hits a big boot that sends Nakamura flying back. Rusev covers but only gets a two count.

Rusev goes for the Accolade, but Nakamura escapes and hits a knee to the back of the head. Nakamura follows up with the Kinshasa for the three count.

Winner: Shinsuke Nakamura

– Nakamura points up at the WrestleMania sign after the match, and both men sell the beating they took in the match.

Vince hasn't ever liked people getting themselves over (Daniel Bryan, Umaga, 'one fall' ref), but we should expect better from Hs.

When the crowd are massively behind someone, you should be making sure they are a babyface and that you are making as much money as you can off them, until the next flavour of the month comes along.

To be fair, Rusev sells so much merch because people think WWE don't have faith in him. Essentially if they turn him face the fans will respond with "yeah, we won. Let's go Hawkins!" and stop supporting him so much. Keep him heel for now, let the fans get more and more behind him like they did with Balor.

Let's not forget that WWE, as a company, are the heels in all of their storylines.

Rusev tweeted that eh would liek to fight a celebrity at Mania.

The Rock tweeted Kevin Hart the other day stating that he should have a match with Rusev at Mania because Rusev will put him over - since then there have been alot of celebrities who are calling out Rusev for a match on Mania.

There have been plenty of celeb appearances at Manias over the years and if it means getting Rusev on the card then i would support it.

The latest celebrity to challenge Rusev though is Macauley Culkin but Rusev declined the offer:

That's a good story. I wonder if they could work an angle where celebrities tweeted challenges to Rusev but they all came from little guys that would obviously get squashed by Rusev.

Also it would be fun to see Rusev get a celebrity opponent. I would mark to see him face former WCW World Heavyweight Champion David Arquette!

Yeah a celebrity cameo spot would be a good position for Rusev at Wrestlemania, especially as it’s certain he won’t have a match apart from being a entrant in the Andre the Giant Battle Royal.

Rusev has a knack for comedy and this would be good use of his current character. Failing that I hope he wins the battle royal.

Id like for him to win the battle royal - it just appears that WWE are holding back and just waiting to give him his moment.

Hes super over and his athleticism is fantastic for a guy of his size

I mean, you guys know what's happening there, right?

Celebs are interested because The Rock said Rusev would put them over - IE he's saying that Rusev will happily lose to get on the card. In small circles, people will say yes that's a good idea, more exposure, gets him on the card et cetera et cetera. The second Rusev loses actually at Wrestlemania though that whole crowd are going to boo the hell out of everything that follows. National media will pick up on this and highlight how embarrassing it is for one of WWE's "top guys" to lose and then be booed out of the building for losing.

Obviously not the reality but it is what the media would run with. It would be an absolute embarrassment.

You know who I think would be the ideal opponent for Rusev at Wrestlemania? Shane McMahon.

The only celebrity I would actually like to step into the ring with Rusev would be Stephen Amell as he at least can make the match interesting and is quite atheletic in his own right.
