So funny. Got babyface written all over them and I suspect it will happen soon with the crowd pops, especially as they don't turn on the crowd for the pops to keep their heat.

When we were shown the Rusev new t shirt it got one of the biggest pops of the night.

They play off eachother so good. Better than many way more established pairings.

as annoying as the singing is, I noticed that too. the crowd got into a Rusev chant, there was definitely less of a heel vibe to them until the New Day intro started, the win was not treated like a disappointment, and they were immediately put into the title match for Clash of Champions.

Quote The Usos vs. Aiden English & Rusev is coming up.

- Aiden English and Rusev are out, and English treats us to a song about the 12 Days of Rusev Day. The Usos come out to interrupt, and they start cutting a promo until Chad Gable and Shelton Benjmain interrupt. Gable calls the other teams weak, and Shelton says on Sunday they'll be collecting those Tag Titles. We go to commercial.

- The Usos vs. Rusev & Aiden English: This one opens up with Rusev and English taking control early on. Rusev gets Jey in a bear hug and talks trash to Jimmy on the apron. Jey starts mounting a comeback and drops Rusev. Jimmy and Aiden both tag in, and Jimmy hits a Samoan Drop on him. Jimmy is fired up and goes for a splash in the corner, but English blocks it with a boot to the face. Uso recovers and comes back with a superkick to English, but Rusev breaks up the pin. Jey sends Rusev out to the floor and goes for a suicide dive, but Rusev stops him with a punch in the face. Jimmy comes over to back up Jey, and the chaos leads to Rusev hitting a big boot on Jimmy at ringside. Aiden takes Jimmy back in the ring and quickly rolls him up for the win.

Winners: Rusev & Aiden English

They should be given a team name so they feel more of a tag team instead of two random guys hanging out with eachother.

Aiden can hold a note and whilst the crowd was quite dead for them, they got more cheers than boos still.

Happy that they picked up the win and I hope they go on a roll.

I'm enjoying them as a team..let's be honest Rusev deserves so much more than he's getting so this regular TV time and getting Rusev Day over is a big start...plus English gets a bad deal too as he's more talented than his current position.

Quote Aiden English is in the ring and he introduces his partner Rusev. They get a huge “Rusev day” chant from the fans, and they crowd pops huge for Aiden’s “12 Days Of Rusev Day” song.

– The Usos (c) vs. The New Day vs. Rusev Day vs. Chad Gable & Shelton Benjamin: This one devolves into an all-out brawl between all of the competitors early on as the ref struggles to restore order. The fight spills outside where Kofi hits a suicide dive, and then Jimmy Uso hits one. Jey goes up top next, but Shelton runs up and hits a huge superplex into the ring with some serious distance. Big E runs in and drops Shelton, which begins the Unicorn Stampede on Benjamin. Kofi drops Rusev with a spinning heel kick, then he and Big E take turns dropkicking the others. Rusev drops Kofi with a superkick then throws Big E into the ring post, and now Big E is cleaning house. Gable gets the tag, and he and Benjamin double team Kofi. Benjamin comes back in now, and he and Rusev seem to agree to focus their offense on Kofi and Jimmy. Aiden tags in and starts double teaming Jimmy with Rusev. Gable and Shelton take turns suplexing and working over Kofi and Big E. More run-ins from the apron, and when the dust settles its down to Rusev and Gable. Rusev locks Gable in the Accolade until Rusev breaks it up. Big E goes for the Big Ending, but Rusev gets out and hits the big boot. Rusev with another Accolade, but Gable breaks it up and hits a German suplex on Rusev. Gable hits a German suplex on Aiden English next, then hits his roll-through German on Big E. Gable goes for the German on Jey, but Jimmy gets the bling tag and superkicks Gable. Another superkick, then Jey tags and hits the big splash off the top for the three count to win.

Winners & still Tag Team Champs: The Usos

In a match that had New Day, it's a big plus for the team that they were chosen to come out first to get the fans pumped for the next match.

Aiden has benefited the most and it's clear he's far more chemistry with his new tag team partner.

I hope at some point they get a one on one title fued as they have earned it.

I would say based on the reactions they’ve been getting particularly last night it would be hard for WWE to not turn them babyface, however despite the positive reactions it’s still a very heelish gimmick so may be hard to work out the transition. I would suggest maybe adding Lana back to the ranks as she was always popular too.

One thing is for sure and that’s Rusev is the most over he’s ever been as is Aiden English. It’s funny how sometimes the most bizarre of combinations/gimmicks just work.

100% agree with the above and as much as i love The Uso's, i think they really need to make a big push on Rusev Day and give them a title run

Rusev has been absolutely phenomenal lately and i've not seen anyone (for years) be able to be so funny / interactive and then switch to be so destructive in the ring - his athleticism is uneblievable

You know? WWE keeps telling us over and over that there is no heel, there is no babyface, and people cheer who they want and they boo who they want. So if that's really the philosophy they hold, and they're not completely full of shit when they say that, then why don't they put Rusev on a win streak, why don't the commentators cheer him? Why don't they portray him in a favorable light to amplify the fact that the fans like him? Why do they have to put heat on him?

I would love it if they abandoned the traditional face/heel dynamic and just went with a cheer or boo who you like attitude towards every character.

It would make everything far more organic and natural, matches become less predictable and less formulatic.

The closest this has ever come to happening was in ECW(the real one) where there was no clear devide between heels and faces.

Sadly I don’t see WWE taking this approach as the tried and tested good vs evil has been a part of booking pro-wrestling for so long.

I was legit happy that they got a huge pop and were over with that crowd. Missed opportunity there, but hopefully they're delaying the inevitable for the Rumble.
