Quote According to Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio, WWE is making an effort to elevate Ruby Riott as a women's title contender. He added that whoever comes out as champion after Money in the Bank, Riott could begin to be positioned as a possible challenger based on the commentary on Raw.

She looks different to other women on the roster with her tattoos, but that's it.

I haven't seen with her ring work or mic skills anything that says she should be anywhere near the title picture.

They could of course break her away from her lackeys and turn her babyface, where she might well shine better.

I think it's more the fact that she's one of few heels on the Raw side and even more rarely she's a heel with consistent backup. Until Natalya and Sasha Banks finally complete their heel turns the Red brand is lacking on that side of things so if not Riott, who else is there?

Shes quality in the ring you helmet.

In terms of talent currently on raw - shes the best ring worker - easily.

She has had notable wins in the last few weeks and a strong performance in that gauntlet match.

Shes easily as credible as any of the women in the MITB match

Quote Ronda Rousey vs. Ruby Riott: The Bella Twins and Riott Squad are at ringside for this one. The opening bell sounds and Ronda hits a series of arm drags, causing Ruby to roll outside for a breather. Back in the ring, Ruby grabs Ronda by the hair and turns things around. Ruby chokes Ronda up against the ropes and then elbows her across the face. Ruby continues to try to keep Ronda grounded, until Ronda catches her with a back suplex. Ronda follows up with some right hands and a gut-wrench suplex, and then she applies the arm bar for the win via submission.

Winner: Ronda Rousey

- Ronda celebrates in the ring after the match.

I will give her credit for her performance on Raw and especially because......

1) She was a safe worker who looked after Ronda.

2) She gave Ronda more minutes than most of her matches so far, so she was in a trusted position and didn't let down management.

More chances will now likely come her way. Maybe it will turn in to a proper programme between them.

Riotts been a good addition, but she hasn't been especially interesting, TBH. Kind of a bit player in a background role. She probably deserves more, but I don't really care for her all that much regardless.

She hasn't really been permitted to look dangerous in most of her feuds because she's feuded with women far above her in terms of popularity and drawing power. She is a very focussed, very accomplished performer and I think she's done extremely well in her first year since being called up.

Very solid worker with a unique look, I would say she’s a notch above the jobbers of the women’s division you know ladies like the other Riot Squad members, Dana Brooke and Alicia Fox, but she’s definiely below the top tier ladies like Ronda, Nia, Alexa and Sasha. I would say Ruby is currently on a par with Bayley.

That’s not a bad spot to be in, top positions are very limited in the women’s division.

I would really like to see a mid-card title added for the women's division still. It'd be good to see Ruby, Bayley, Jax, Naomi, Asuka and others compete with one another. Logistical nightmare, I know, I'm just saying...

Quote Ronda Rousey & Natalya vs. Ruby Riot & Sarah Logan: Logan starts off with a double leg takedown on Natalya to take control early on. Ruby tags in, but Natalya drags her back to Natalya's corner, and Ronda tags in. They do a double suplex on Ruby, then Ronda gets distracted knocking Liv Morgan off the apron. Ruby comes back with a facebuster on Ronda, then Logan tags in for the double team. Ruby tags back in and Ronda drops her with a clothesline, then Natalya tags back in. Natalya suplexes Ruby down, then she knocks Logan off the apron. Liv Morgan cheap shots Natalya when the ref isn't looking. Natalya and Ronda go out to ringside and hit the Hart Attack on Liv at ringside. This leads to Logan taking out Natalya at ringside with a boot to the face. Back in the ring, Ruby and Sarah take turns working over Natalya until Ronda finally gets the hot tag. Ronda tees off on Logan, then takes out Liv and Ruby. Ronda drops Logan and pins, but Ruby breaks it up. Natalya and Ruby fight to the outside now. Ronda hits the Samoan Drop on Ruby, and then we see Becky Lynch appearing at ringside again. Becky punches out Natalya and hits her with her crutch, and then Ronda runs out and fights with Becky. Security and agents come out and they pull them apart.

Winners via DQ: Ronda Rousey & Natalya

Gets a title shot against Ronda Rousey on PPV and loses within a couple of minutes.

Former champs no longer get automatic rematches but the very next night the PPV contender made to look like a jobber somehow got another rematch and lost just as quick.

So then after back to back jobs in no more than a combined minutes between PPV and the Flagship show, you get put in a tag match against the same person?

Riott being in the title picture, out of nowhere, is exactly the reason why WWE needs to expand it's female roster.

remember when TNA introduced the KO Tag Titles, and we all made jokes because the roster simply wasn't big enough for one, and good enough for two, to handle a KO Champ and a tag division? WWE as a whole right now is exactly the same.

works better on SDL, where the majority of the female stars there are given fuck all to do. I mean, last night's SDL had Charlotte talking about being given the Raw belt next week. nothing on Asuka, no challenge for who will get a title shot at either next week's Fast Lane, or for Mania, nothing.

rather than having Lacey Evans just coming out, and walking back, have her compete, have some of the NXT women pull double duty. where has Nikki Cross disappeared to?

Riott, Logan and Morgan have been handled badly since they turned up on Raw, made worse by the programme with Nattie where she was able to destroy the three of them. Ruby hasn't been a viable contender for anything for some time, so you could tell she was just a filler match to have Ronda on a PPV, and i'd rather have had a SDL match instead.

this of course shouldn't have been a surprise when the women only PPV had to draft in the NXT women's title for a spot because they hadn't built any angles and were just dumping everyone else in a Battle Royal.
