Quote The Riott Squad vs. Natalya, Tamina, & Carmella: Liv and Natalya start off and trade holds until Natalya hits the discus clothesline for a two count. Natalya goes for a Sharpshooter but Liv escapes and rolls outside. Ruby and Logan check on her at ringside as Liv takes a breather. Logan and Carmella tag in and Logan takes control. Logan knocks Natalya off the apron, but Carmella is able to tag in Tamina who comes in and cleans house. Ruby runs in but Tamina superkicks her down. Tamina hits a Samoan drop on Logan next. Tamina goes up top, but Liv pushes her off while Ruby distracts the ref. Logan hits a running knee to the head on Tamina for the three count.

Winners: The Riott Squad

- After the match, The Riott Squad stands tall in the ring and Ruby cuts a promo. She bashes the Orlando fans and bets they "believe in Magic." She says The Riott Squad is a strong dose of reality for everyone. Ruby announces that the three of them will all be in the women's Royal Rumble match. SmackDown Women's Champion Charlotte comes out to the stage to interrupt. Charlotte says she believes in magic and dreams, but also has a dose of reality for Ruby - actions have consequences. Charlotte introduces Naomi, and then introduces Becky Lynch. They charge the ring and brawl with The Riott Squad at ringside. Charlotte brings Logan in the ring and hits a big boot on her that sends Logan back outside. Naomi takes out Liv, then Becky takes Ruby in the ring for a Bexploder. Becky hits one Liv next. Charlotte, Becky and Naomi stare down The Riott Squad as they retreat back up the ramp.

I found it funny the massive WHAT? chants Ruby got when coming across as a whiny little girl.

Why did Ruby say that Liv and Sarah are in the Royal Rumble match? That they were stood next to her but still didn't speak for themselves made the group look poor.

If 'the other two' can't speak for themselves by now with a couple of lines without botching, then after the Rumble is out of the way I wouldn't be shocked to see them demoted back to NXT.

Starting to think The Riott Squad are a really really poor version of Absolution and will probably find themselves low down the card very soon and eventually forgotten about and released

Quote Ruby Riott vs. Becky Lynch: Women's Champion Charlotte and Naomi are at ringside watching this one. Ruby Riott is accompanied by Liv Morgan and Sarah Logan. Becky starts off strong from the opening bell. Logan tries to grab at Becky's leg under the ropes, and Ruby tries to capitalize on the distraction, but it backfires and Becky drops her. Becky throws Ruby out to ringside ontop of Liv and Sarah. Back in the ring, Ruby drops Becky and works on keeping her grounded. Becky breaks free, but Ruby slams her down again. Ruby hits some knee strikes and applies an abdominal stretch. Becky breaks free and rolls up Ruby for a two count. Becky fires up and lays into Ruby with strikes, and drops her with an uppercut. Becky follows up with some suplexes. She goes for a running kick, but Ruby dodges it and connects with a kick of her own. Ruby goes for another kick, but Becky blocks this one and latches on to her with the Disarm Her for the win via submission.

Winner: Becky Lynch

Having the leader lose so convincingly makes it appear that management know themselves that they aren't good enough to continue their earlier push.

If all three were released by the time the year is over, it wouldn't be a shock.

I don't think a reboot in NXT would help or a switch to face or Raw. They just aren't that good and there are far more deserving talents on the indie circuit.

I think it's best they are in singles competition, except for the fact that Sarah Logan and Liv Morgan IMO need more seasoning before being fed to the wolves. Ruby Riot is read to hang with the big dogs, and could easily be Smackdown Women's Champion before 2018 is over, but the other two need a good bit more work.

Definitely one of the weakest factions to come up from NXT, they don't have anything going for them.

Ruby might be a good ring worker but she cannot carry her faction its just not going well at all none of them could actually carry a promo and the other two are just poor workers I don't get why they were put in the main roster there are plenty of other women who could've been brought up instead.

If they had to bring a group of then it should've been Billie Kay and Peyton Royce (yes a little bias there they come from Sydney after all) those two can carry a promo and both are great wrestlers.

These female factions are so damn dumb - even moreso because they literally debuted the same gimmick at the same time on different shows.  The only one who has a chance, as I see it, is Ruby Riot.  She's got the skill and the mic work is pretty good, better than most in the company today.  I'm just really surprised that the company brought up fucking Liv Morgan - she sucks big time and was nowhere near ready to be on major TV shows.  Sarah Logan, who I think has a wrestling past, also seems really awkward in the ring - like she's scared to be there.

Either way, the faction has zero steam, really has no personality, and seems to flop wins/losses around like crazy.  They haven't done anything to make me scream out, "WHOA!" or anything.  I swear, the last female debut that I had any reaction to was Kharma - every other one has been pretty dull, honestly.

For me the problem isn't necessarily the people, it's the lack of stakes. We know there'll be no title matches at The Rumble. We know there can only be one Rumble winner over two brands. Why exactly is anybody fighting at all?

Smackdown have been coasting on a Riott/Charlotte rivalry that lacked heat but now they've thrown the Becky Lynch return into the mix and that's just confusing things. Meanwhile over on Raw Paige can no longer get in the ring and nobody else is doing anything meaningful. There's no secondary titles, no number one contenders. What's the point of the women's matches at all right now? What we need are stakes.

Allow me to fantasy book a moment. Riott Squad vs RoyalFireGlow (seriously these names are all bloody awful) will be a match on Smackdown. Let The Welcoming Committee (eurgh) get involved and literally screw with both sides, causing continual interference and eventually resulting in Lynch getting distracted on the outside. She can beat up Carmella; that'll be important to start a rivalry for later.

Meanwhile, Naomi miscues a kick on Liv Morgan and manages to hit Charlotte. Charlotte doesn't go down but instead reacts to Naomi negatively. Naomi gets tackled by Logan. Charlotte gets hit by Ruby Riott and pinned by Liv Morgan.

Yes, the quote unquote weakest member of Riott Squad; it's important.

Riott Squad bugger off up the ramp celebrating their victory, their job done. Riott and Logan lift Morgan up on their shoulders or something. Meanwhile, Lynch tries to keep the peace between Charlotte and Naomi. They all back off, Charlotte turns her back and Naomi says something quietly that makes Charlotte snap and boot her in the face.

Charlotte starts to leave, Welcoming Committee (sans Carmella) jump in the ring, beat down Becky and, when Charlotte comes back to help, beat her down too.

Now, we have some tension, finally.

Later in the night, we show an arguing Welcoming Committee over Carmella being abandoned to fight with Lynch. Carmella eventually tells them all to go to hell, says she'll win the Rumble, the title and keep her Money in the Bank and then she'll be champion forever, stomps off.

And then we at least have something interesting. Potential Charlotte heel turn. Liv Morgan gloating over pinning the champion. Problems between the faces leading into the Rumble. Carmella leaving the heel group. Heat with Becky and Carmella for mania.

Right now nothing means anything on either brand when it comes to women's wrestling.
