Japan in August.....

Well that basically guarantees a show in Hawaii this year.

Quote UPDATE: Over the weekend, WWE Hall of Famer Ric “The Nature Boy” Flair said that Ronda Rousey’s WWE contract was for “only one year”. In an update on this, multiple sources have confirmed that Rousey’s current WWE contract is a multi-year deal.

Flair said in an interview over the weekend that a Rousey vs. Charlotte Flair match would have to happen within the year, “because Ronda, I think Ronda’s only signed a one year deal and she’s out of there. She wants to have kids and all that.” You can check out the original interview below.

For what it’s worth, Rousey did say that she wanted to have kids soon in a pre-WrestleMania 34 interview. She said, “We’re ready to start having kids soon and I was thinking about what I’ve left unfinished in my life because I want to entirely focus on having kids when that time comes. I took a long look at my life and thought that if I don’t try and take a shot with the WWE, I would regret it for the rest of my life.”

ORIGINAL: According to Ric “The Nature Boy” Flair, Ronda Rousey’s current WWE contract is only a one-year deal. The WWE Hall of Famer revealed the news during a recent interview with reporter Chris Van Vliet.

Flair said, “I’m not involved obviously in any of their thinking, but if they’re ever gonna put the women where they belong, this is the year because Ronda, I think Ronda’s only signed a one year deal and she’s out of there. She wants to have kids and all that. So why not?”

For what it’s worth, Rousey has said in the past that she wants to have children. If Ric Flair’s comments are accurate, Rousey’s deal would be up before WrestleMania 35 as she signed with WWE prior to the Royal Rumble pay-per-view event in January.

She's 31 now, but if she wants a big family I wouldn't be surprised to see her have time off after Wrestlemania next year.

It will all depend maybe on how many children she wants with her husband.

Even if it's multi year she can wrestle a year, take a year off for maternity and have the time missed added to the end of her contract, like when wrestlers get injured so the company are safeguarded in getting the talent for the time they signed up for.

It’s said the rumour about her deal only being for one year is false and it’s actually a multi-year contract.

She’s said when she has kids she wants to be a very hands on Mum so would want to be at home more or less full-time, by the sounds of it she will want to be retired from both wrestling and MMA when this happens.

I can see her completing her WWE deal which I think will be for around three years and then leaving to start a family, unless perhaps a Lesnar type special attraction arrangement can be made which she will be happy to fit in around her family commitments.

On another note her work was good this week, her best promo to date. She’s far better when she shows a bit of fire and aggression, I don’t like all the being thankful for the opportunity shit and sucking up to the other talent.

Kinda surprised to see her open Raw with a promo. First Raw I've watched in ages and she has held her own pretty well. I understand if people some people don't like her, but objectively speaking she's quite good, she has the fan support, which is important, and she is being handled well too by booking and production.

I laughed when she got caught by surprise by the bat flying past her during Ember Moons match with Bliss.

Bliss has been a real godsend for Ronda though because she is so good at appearing to get the upper hand on the mic while still leaving an opening for Ronda to work with. It makes me wonder how Ronda will do once she is no longer working opposite Bliss.

The Bat really seemed to startle her I guess it’s pretty uncommon to see a Bat crash land next to you and flap about inside a sports arena.

Her promo was ok but she still seems to struggle coming across as natural, she’s best when she’s just silent and looking mean and tough.

I’ve enjoyed her minimalistic booking, keeping her matches few and far between makes each one of them a big deal and keeps her value high, both her matches so far have been really decent as well considering how inexperienced she is, hopefully she and Alexa Bliss will deliver on Sunday.

She's really got that Stone Cold thing going on with Steph. Love it. Her segment on Raw last night could have been the highlight of the night had it not been for the Shield reuniting and possibly turning heel (discussion for a different thread). She was good on the mic, she was well booked to take out Stephanie again, and this "celebration" seemed far more natural and easier to palette than the one last night after her match. I'm glad she called out Sasha and Bayley and gave them credit for their Takeover Brooklyn match. And I loved that she specifically stated that she is NOT Brock Lesnar and that she will be there to defend her title regularly (she said every night, but obviously she can't do that).

She still needs and opponent though, and if you look at the currently standing heels, I don't know who can really make a believable case to be both #1 contender and a threat. Still seems like Natty needs to turn. Unless the Bellas are about to return. I'm getting real sick of seeing them on TV when they're completely useless, it's bad enough when they're actually a part of the active roster. Nikki Bella vs Rousey might be fun. I wouldn't mind at all seeing Nikki get fed to Rousey.

There’s a strong rumour Ronda will face Nikki Bella at Evolution in the main event as WWE view Rousey and Nikki as the two most mainstream ladies on the roster. In fairness I’ve heard worse ideas.

In the meantime I hope we get Ronda vs Becky Lynch at Survivor Series in a inter-brand match, Id like to see Rousey vs Nia Jax again too and a match with Ember Moon would be good. Sasha Banks is another decent choice of opponent.

Alexa Bliss is really the female equivalent of The Miz so her in the ring with Rousey was like putting Miz in a match with Brock Lesnar.

Meaning Bliss should have had an entourage following her around and doing all the beatings for her, and she just sat back and taunted her opponents. God that would be great for a rematch between Rousey & Bliss. But for now I'm happy to see Rousey move on to someone else. Honestly all the best feuds for Rousey ATM are on Smackdown. Becky, Charlotte, Asuka would all be good picks for her. I kinda hope they bring up Shayna Baszler to feud with Rousey sooner rather than later.

Wow... mainstream surprise of the day for me here... Friggen People Magazine acting like this is a shoot. This is one of the US's most mainstream and reputable pop culture news magazines, and here they are either keeping up kayfabe, or too dense to realize this is a storyline.

I guess that's what you get when you pair one of pop culture's most notable MMA fighters and the most notable woman MMA fighter in the world with a couple of E! Televisions reality show darlings.

You'd think if People were in on it, they'd mention that this was done for a storyline to build towards the upcoming first of its kind all women's PPV event, but without any comment like that, they just look like marks.
