She needs to work house shows! LMAO says the guy who is fine with Lesnar working 4 dates a year. She's a bigger star than Lesnar!

To be fair, I think both Rousey and Lesnar should work house shows and all episodes of Raw, but come on. She's not going to work house shows if guys like Cena, Lesnar and other part time big draw attractions aren't.

That's why you gotta respect guys like Jericho & Batista. They'll do the things other part time/temporary big name draws won't.

That depends on what point of view you're looking at this from.

WWE fan w/ little to no MMA knowledge: Lesnar is by and far the bigger star

WWE fan w/ MMA knowledge / MMA fan tuning into WWE: Rousey has way more star power than Lesnar.

On another note, you're telling me that at Wrestlemania we're getting:
- One woman who competes in a WWE ring once every few years
- Another woman who has yet to compete in a WWE ring (and who knows how long it's been since she's been training).
- A guy who, when last competed, looked stiff as hell and will probably need protected.
- A guy who is actually in ring shape and is the only person in the match who will not need to be protected.

Oh boy, can't wait to see THAT match. Disapprove

I'm sorry but I 100% demand her to be full time. Well, I know I can't demand anything, but you know what I mean.

Look at it from my point of view. I have no interest in the world of MMA. At all. So to me she is just a celebrity. And this celebrity waltzes in to the closing moments of Royal Rumble 2018 and gets all the plaudits. I wasn't over the moon with that. But if what she said last night is true and she doesn't want special treatment, then she damn well better not get special treatment.

I expect (demand) a wholehearted commitment to the world of WWE if I am going to get on side with this, in my eyes, celebrity.

Same. As you say she's just a celebrity and I aren't too interested in MMA either. So you don't piss off your regular roster by treating her differently.

Quote As reported before, one of the rumors that has been going around involving Ronda Rousey is a possible pairing with Paul Heyman as her mouthpiece given her relative inexperience on the mic. On the latest Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer speculated that he doesn't see that pairing happening and the reason might be a silly reason.

-- Meltzer says that the way the direction of this storyline is going, Rousey will likely be getting the better of Stephanie and/or Triple H leading up to WrestleMania and if that is the case, he doesn't see WWE guiding this program in a way where Heyman will get to be booked to outwit a McMahon on the mic and for that reason, he doesn't see Rousey aligning with Heyman.

Rousey will get the win at Wrestlemania, so I don't understand why Meltzer thinks she will get the better of Stephanie and Hs in the build up.

If her very first fued is going to be that one sided, it's going to suck.

I dare anyone to tell me I'm wrong. What Olympic games did Lesnar medal in? How many times did Lesnar successfully defend his UFC title? What A-list summer blockbuster action movies has Lesnar starred in?

Who's been on all the late night talk shows, morning shows daytime talk shows. Whose sex life is covered by TMZ? Who was a porn parody named for them?

Who has the name saturation?

Who is the household name?

Hint: It sure as hell ain't Lesnar.

And that is what is wrong with wrestling fans. They cry, bitch and moan every time a sports fan says wrestling is fake, but when a sports star from the world of martial arts comes in, they say they're just a celebrity and shouldn't be taken seriously.

Sorry but what? Within the realm of kayfabe, MMA and Professional Wrestling are cousins more similar to each other than Judo and Karate. And when Sumo Wrestling grand champion Yokozuna enter the WWE nobody bats an eye when he beats WWE Champion Bret Hart 6 months after he debuts, but in comes someone People Magazine and ESPN call the best fighter in the world of 2015, suddenly they have to proves themselves by doing house shows and every Raw?

Why? Because she's a woman? None of you demand that of Brock Lesnar. Moreover Dana White didn't make a comparable demand of Lesnar before challenging for the the UFC Heavyweight title.

For professional respect from one company to another alone WWE owes Rousey that same respect White gave to Lesnar.

You're missing my point. It doesn't matter to me what accolades someone has achieved outside of the ring. It matters how committed they are to the business. I don't want another former MMA personality come in part time.

So far so good though as she was on Raw last night and looks to be involved in a weekly televised program if they want to keep the story going. Still early days though.

Don't get me wrong. I'm not picking on you specifically, but rather that frame of mind that if they're not full time they don't belong.

First of all this is WrestleMania season, this is sports entertainment at it's best and it always has been. WrestleMania has never been about professional wrestling in the way that Vince McMahon sees it. Now personally I look at professional wrestling the same way Steve Austin does, that professional wrestling and basketball games played between the Washington Wizards and Harlem Globetrotters are both brands of Sports Entertainment, but Vince sees professional wrestling as a hick brand of the more high quality of product WWE puts out.

WrestleMania is all about the spectacle. This is where you see celebrities like The Rock return. You see Mr. T Mike Tyson, Floyd Merryweather, Butterbean, Rob Gronkowski, and Ronda Rousey. However with Rousey, you've got someone distinctly different than other celebrities. Kurt Angle COULD have been a WrestleMania celebrity guest star, Ken Shamrock COULD have been a celebrity guest star. Rousey was, but after guest starring she got addicted.

Nobody would have looked at Angle or Shamrock and told them they didn't deserve to be a part of WrestleMania before they debuted as full time wrestlers. Yet I am seeing people all over the internet saying she doesn't deserve to be in the wwe and that she is stealing someone's spot.

So I am using your comment as an example of what I'm seeing everywhere on the internet.

But there are two different issues here. Former MMA champions should be treated like legitimate threats to the WWE title right out of the gates. That they are not belittles kayfabe and the whole story all pro wrestling organizations try to tell. That is issue #1. Brock Lesnar walked into UFC and beasted his way to a championship as a wrestler, and UFC fans, while up in arms over the fact that he even got the chance we're blown away when he won. Ronda Rousey did the exact same thing using a mix of Judo and wrestling. Ronda has NOTHING to prove to wrestling fans. Wrestling fans need to get an education.

Issue number 2 is that here she is saying she wants to prove herself regardless, at the most tailor made show for a competitor of her status and people still don't want to give her a shot, and that is just plain horseshit.

Ronda needs to work on her promos, at Elimination Chamber she appeared nervous and uncomfortable and nearly messed up her lines several times. This may just be nerves as it was her first time on a mic in WWE ring so hopefully she will get much better as she gets used to how to do promos and how to engage the fans. I do agree they need to go more bad ass with her rather than this humble girl next door ever grateful for her opportunity.

Seems she wont be tagging with The Rock as it all pointed towards Kurt Angle being her partner, that's fine we knew Rock was a long shot and if he had been allowed to work a match his physicality would have to be very limited to protect him from injury. Aside from Ronda's shoddy mic work I thought the angle was well worked and was a simple and effective way to set up the match at Wrestlemania and pull the trigger on the feud between Rousey and Mr and Mrs HHH.

Ronda doesn't need to be full-time, I would like to see her around more than Brock but they should maximise her star power by having her work on a special attraction basis. Over exposure will see interest in her fade.

I don't know why they feel the need to promote that she will be on every Raw leading to Wrestlemania, as surely that's what a full time contract means....

She's only got two facial expressions. Smiley girl next door or the i'm going to kill you scrowl.

The mole below her left eye is that big it's distracting. Would love to see Steph get some heel heat by telling her how she's going to slap it off her face.
