Quote It appears that Ronda Rousey will wrestle her first match on WWE Monday Night Raw this July as an article posted by WKBW is advertising the event as well as Rousey’s in-ring Raw debut at this upcoming show. Here is the promotional material:

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WKBW) – Former UFC star Ronda Rousey will make her Buffalo wrestling debut, as WWE Monday Night Raw returns to the Queen City this summer.

WWE RAW superstars such as Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns will wrestle in Buffalo on July 16th at 7:30 p.m.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. Saturday and will cost between $19 and $119. You can buy tickets on tickets.com or by calling 888-223-6000.

So she gets a pay per view title match before a Raw match, yes that makes sense Confused

I see she's wrestling in London at the 02 in our special show, so that's good.

She should have been on Raw this week, but E never see UK as special enough to see one of their part time attractions.

Quote WKBW in Buffalo, New York has a story regarding WWE returning to the city for the July 16th RAW TV tapings. According to the article and local promotion for those set of TV tapings, Ronda Rousey will be wrestling on the show. The same goes for the promotional material and advertising for tomorrow night’s WWE RAW TV tapings at the Times Union Center in Albany, New York. If she wrestles on RAW in Albany, NY (tomorrow night), it would mark her in-ring RAW debut. We can confirm that Rousey will at least be appearing on RAW tomorrow night in Albany, New York.

The WKBW article states the following: “Ronda Rousey will make her Buffalo wrestling debut.”

The Albany and Buffalo advertisements also state that Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns will be wrestling at the TV tapings but that should come as no surprise obviously.

If she does make her Raw debut tonight then I would be surprised, as it should be something advertised in advance to make a big deal of something that can never happen again.

I won't complain if it does happen though, as she should get used to wrestling in regular TV matches before the PPV.

Maybe it will be the dark match? Whatever it is it needs to be long enough that she can sell and show off some moves, instead of a one minute squash.

Why would she be doing anything but a squash? They need to treat her matches like she's Brock Lesnar. Unless she is facing someone WWE wants to push as a major star, Rousey should squash everyone.

What would be good is if Rousey squashed everyone, and then WWE ran with a storyline that the women's division has decided to step up the competition yet again, increase their movesets, step up the workrate as well, and then come back at her at a closer level to where Rousey has to sell, and then have Rousey admit one way or the other, grudgingly and cocky-like if she's a heel, or impressed and humble like if she's a babyface that there seems to be a new fire lit under their asses and that the matches are getting more difficult/fun for her.

That helps the division, and it helps protect her as a green worker. It helps keep her looking like the drawing star she is, while disguising that she's still new and inexperienced, but since all the live audience fans know she's a legit badass the early squashes look realistic, yet once the WWE run with the idea that the division has stepped up their game, it helps the division as a whole quite markedly when they see Rousey is now selling and having closer to even matches like anyone else. That's just win/win.

no she shouldnt

They have made a conscious effort to show video after video of her learning to wrestle and training and all that sort of shit - she cant go for someone whos dream it has been to be a wrestler and learning the ropes to destroying the whole division within weeks.

How is she supposed to get any better if all she does is squash people?

The thing with Lesnar is that he was an amateur wrestler and was built right from day 1 as an absolute monster. He then went to MMA and came back an absolute destructive machine - he was never ever built as someone who was learning the ropes, trying to earn respect or waiting in line for opportunities.

If they do go want to go down the route of squashing people, it should be the traditional way - local enhancement talent as they do with most people - not the established womens division - what would that say for the division as a whole?

I honestly think she should've had a few singles matches if only a couple of 10 minute ones to help get her good and ready for the ring.

I like that she's doing some live events which is good.

loved her ending promo with Nia need more of that in her and the fans will keep on her side for quite some time.

How is she going to get better? Simple. She doesn't need to learn how to work a match. She's better at mat technique already than most of the women in the division and these days that's saying a lot. She needs to learn WWE style, timing, how to take instruction from the ref, fine-tune her promo for the WWE audiences, all of which can be done with squash matches. Selling is important too, but that's not a huge selling point for anyone's success in the WWE (Right, John Cena?) and that can come once the division is built up even more by way of showing how the division is responding to her dominance over it.

Rousey was an amateur wrestler and judoku and was not just built from day 1 as an absolute monster, she proved she was an absolute monster because she did it legit in the Olympics and UFC. Within the confines of her division she eats Ken Shamrock and defecates Brock Lesnar all while being a bigger draw than either of them.

The differences you are highlighting between Lesnar and Rousey is that Lesnar was an arrogant, heel bully, whereas Rousey is a respectful, badass babyface. They don't call her the baddest woman on the planet because she's an up and comer.

What would is say if she did it? It would say that "No one is ready for" Rousey (Asuka pun intended). Asuka already did exactly what I'm saying and now she's been moved to Smackdown because WWE know that's one hell of a money matchup in the future. One I seriously hope Asuka wins.

Rousey needs to squash because she needs to assert her dominance to the fans, then once it's been established she really is an absolute monster, then she needs to be taken down by the best WWE have such as Charlotte and Asuka and a few more, but that can only mean something once the time has been spent showing why it's such an impressive feat.

She does not have better mat wrestling technique than any of the best on the womens roster - not anywhere close.

Judo is about takedowns which is why she was feared in MMA because she could take anyone down and then manoeuvre them into a position to apply a submission.

She was not an amateur wrestler - not in any way shape or form.

She was a hype job in UFC and that is also FACT.

The first decent person she fought was Holly Holm who kept her at a stand up fight and she absolutely destroyed her.

Again in terms of being . adraw - right now shes a bigger draw but thats because of the novelty of her move from UFC being relatively fresh - Lesnar has been a huge draw in both UFC and WWE for years despite taking long periods of time away from one or the other.

Rouseys longevity in WWE is not yet close to being tested so we cant really say shes a bigger draw than Lesnar overall

Judo and Wrestling are kissing cousins at worst. Judo Gene LaBell taught Piper how to wrestle almost exactly the same way he taught Rousey Judo. They are both grappling, and within the realm of pro-wrestling no distinction is made between the two.

Rousey was more than JUST a hype job, however you're right in saying she was hyped. No different than Brock Lesnar. Rousey was far less hype than Lesnar though. She still holds the record for fastest UFC match in history and she beat an Olympic silver medalist. Tell me more about how her mat technique isn't tops.

Also Meisha Tate was her first test and probably her best, and she was 2 for 2 on Tate, and then Tate went on to make Holly Holm her bitch and take her title.

As for Draw, your right it could very well be just that she is a novelty. Only time will tell, but she is also drawing better than any woman ever, so there's that too.

Quote RAW GM Kurt Angle is in the ring to kick off RAW. Angle talks about RAW superstars winning both Money In The Bank contract matches last night, and then he introduces new WWE Women's Champion Alexa Bliss. She comes out to the ring, and Kurt says sine she requested a special presentation of the belt, he hands her the belt now in the ring. Kurt reveals that Nia will be getting a rematch for the Women's Championship at Extreme Rules. Alexa says she still isn't done gloating about her win last night, and she talks about winning the contract and the Championship at Money In The Bank. Ronda Rousey comes out to interrupt, and she's not happy. Alexa hides behind Kurt and tells Ronda to calm down. Alexa taunts Ronda about not winning the Championship last night, and Ronda attacks her. Ronda pummels on Alexa until Kurt hauls her off, and Ronda judo throws Kurt down. Ronda drops Alexa and repeatedly hits her with the Money In The Bank briefcase. Kurt tries to haul her off again, but Ronda hits Kurt with the briefcase now. Referees run in and Ronda starts beating them up. Ronda goes back to Alexa and picks her up, then powerbombs her through the table in the ring. Ronda heads backstage as Kurt asks what the hell she's doing.

- We see Kurt Angle and Ronda Rousey arguing backstage. Kurt says he has no choice but to suspend her for 30 days, and he tells her to get her things and go.

- On her way out of the building, Ronda does a short interview with Renee Young where she says after this 30-day suspension, Ronda will be back to kick Alexa's ass.

What's she got planned for the next month? Another movie? I can't see her being written out for 4-5 episodes of Raw just to relax at home.

I hope she uses her social media platform for the next month to help build to her return.

But I would have her no mentioned on E programming or social media so she's treated as an outsider who they won't promote in any way whilst banned.
