Quote  Samoa Joe is expected to return to the ring soon and it looks like he will be working a WWE Universal Title feud.

Current RAW plans have Joe feuding with Roman Reigns right after WrestleMania 34, according to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter. Reigns is scheduled to defeat current champion Brock Lesnar for the Universal Title at WrestleMania.

Joe vs. Reigns is booked for the European tour of the UK and Ireland in May. Joe vs. Reigns has also been announced for the May 7th RAW in Long Island, NY, along with Braun Strowman vs. Elias.

Joe suffered a right foot injury back in early January, forcing him to miss the Royal Rumble pay-per-view. He was backstage for this week's RAW in Dallas, his first TV tapings since the injury. No word yet on when he will be back in the storylines but they could save him for the post-WrestleMania RAW if they don't bring him back for the Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal at WrestleMania as a surprise entrant. Some fans have speculated on Joe possibly being put with Braun for the match with RAW Tag Team Champions The Bar at WrestleMania but it's believed that Elias will be chosen as Braun's partner

Obviously plans can change but this is the alleged route for Joe to make his return.

I enjoyed the stuff they did before Joe got injured and again he is someone that can help Reigns cement himself as a top babyface.

The thing is that most crowds, as with Lesnar, love Joe so Reigns may not get the support from the crowds that i think WWE are hoping for.

I think the only thing that could get the crowd fully on Reigns side is for Mahal to move to Raw and challenge for the title LOL

Actually I'm good with that. I've yet to see something from Joe I haven't liked. If only he'd win it. I would love to see Samoa Joe as WWE Champion.

That would require him to stay healthy something he is struggling with at the moment which is a shame because he really does do great work in the ring no matter who he's in the ring with.

Quote Roman Reigns comes down to the ring next. Reigns gets on the mic and says he's here tonight and Brock Lesnar isn't. Reigns says to be honest he still doesn't really know what happened yesterday, and people looked at him weird, and Vince McMahon couldn't even look him in the eye and "smarten me up." Reigns says Lesnar is a hell of a business man. Reigns says he only found out on the internet that Brock is signed to a new deal and has a new match with Reigns in a steel cage. Reigns says he doesn't know what the plans are, but if they keep putting him in matches with Lesnar, he'll be the new Universal Champion. Samoa Joe comes out to interrupt. Joe gets on the mic and says let's break out the tin foil hats, because Roman thinks there's a conspiracy. Joe says he's going to bring Reigns back to reality - Lesnar exposed Reigns last night, and the crowd pops. Joe tells Reigns he's a failure and a liar. Joe continues to taunt Reigns about being repeatedly beaten by Lesnar, and then making excuses for it. Joe says after Lesnar is done beating Reigns in their next match, Joe will be waiting for Reigns at Backlash to put him to sleep.

Anyone expect Joe to be anything but the sacrificial lamb when we get to Backlash?

I can't see Roman losing two PPVs in a row, even though it would make an heel turn more likely.

The more losses rack up, the chance of him losing his temper better than ever before could happen.

Joe kinda needs this win, but no, I don't see him beating Reigns, which sucks.

I couldnt see Lesnar beating Reigns but look what happened

Joe never seems to be hurt by losses in feuds though so maybe Reigns will get a win back

Well if Roman wins the title in Saudi Arabia, that will make their Backlash match for a title, so Joe could be the main champion of Raw in a few weeks time.

Quote Roman Reigns comes out to the ring next and gets on the mic. Reigns gets on the mic and says once again he's here, and Brock Lesnar isn't. He says once again he's going to face Lesnar, but it's not going down like last time, because it's going to be in a steel cage. Reigns says he will be the full-time Universal Champion. Reigns gets interrupted by Samoa Joe's entrance music, and he gets a "Joe" chant from the crowd. Joe says Reigns comes out and brags about showing up to work, but he never brags about getting the job done because he can't and never will. Joe says Reigns isn't getting in the cage with a normal super star, but a Beast who has beaten Reigns not once, not twice, but every time he's stepped in the ring with him. Joe says he almost feels sorry for Reigns but can't, because Reigns is too stupid to know his place. Joe says at Backlash, he is going to put the big dog to sleep once and for all. Joe says since Reigns is so fired up tonight, he's going to remind him what Lesnar did to him and what Joe will do to him, and we go to replays from WrestleMania. Reigns says that's what Brock has done, and he challenges Joe to come to the ring and show what his "lazy fat ass" can do. Joe teases going in to the ring a couple times, but ends up deciding against it and tells Reigns he'll see him at Backlash.

Logic would be Samoa Joe being ringside in Saudi Arabia doing all he can to help Roman win, so he has himself a surprise title shot at Backlash.

The alternative could be Joe doing nothing during that match, Brock retains again and then Joe makes out Roman has cost him a title shot by losing to Brock again, even though he himself did nothing to help it happen.

I'm all for these guys going at it but there was literally no reason for these two to clash not to mention it looks like Joe will end up jobber fodder for reigns if reigns loses to lesnar again.

However if reigns wins then this could be interesting we could see a champion the crowd would be all for in Samoa Joe the possibilities are endless.
