But if as a babyface you can't get cheered against Jinder, there is a huge problem right there.

Quote Kevin Owens & Jinder Mahal vs. Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns: Jinder and Owens start this one off strong and they take turns double teaming The Big Dog. Seth finally gets the hot tag and cleans house. Seth goes for a suicide dive on Jinder, but Owens grabs his feet and blocks it, so Seth drops Owens first. Seth then follows up with a suicide dive on Jinder on the other side of the ring. Seth brings Jinder back in the ring, then goes up top and hits the Blockbuster. Seth looks for the curb stomp now, but Sunil Singh gets on the apron for the distraction. Seth turns around into a shot from Jinder for the two count. Jinder looks for the Khallas, but Seth kicks him down. Owens tags in and blocks a shot from Rollins, then follows up with a gut buster. Owens hits a flying elbow drop, but Reigns breaks it up. Reigns drops Jinder, but then Owens superkicks Reigns down. Owens looks for a Pop Up Powerbomb, but Seth escapes and hits a superkick and then the curb stomp for the win.

Winners: Seth Rollins & Roman Reigns

- After the match, Jinder comes back out of nowhere on the ramp and beats down Seth and Reigns. Jinder beats on them with a steel chair and stands over Reigns' body on the ramp. Jinder leaves and Reigns and Rollins slowly get to their feet, and referees help them to the back.

I would expect Jinder to continue to get the upperhand until they meet on PPV.

Then the interest at MITB will be if E decide to give Mahal such a huge win or don't think he's deserving of it.

Either way I am glad that Jinder Mahal is in this feud and that people are even starting to cheer him.

I want Mahal to be a good guy within the next year.

Watching Raw just now on Hulu and I quickly picked up on the fact that commentary was trying to get over the idea that Jinder was now in Reigns' league unlike when he was in 3MB, so it appears Tom is on the money here. It makes me wonder if Jinder might even get the win over Reigns at MitB.

Whilst i do agree with Tom to an extent, it is absolutely ridiculous to suggest that this is not also to get Roman cheered (not that you insinuated that point but Tom did)

The fact that theyve put Reigns against the biggest heat magnet in WWE up to this point and then went one better on Raw.

They had Stephanie have a go at Kurt Angle about Reigns' preferential treatment to try and get Reigns the sympathy vote which preceded the most robotic exchange between Reigns and Stephanie that ive ever seen in wrestling history

If this was solely about getting Mahal over as that next level guy - there are loads of other superstars they could have matched him up against - especially given that Reigns has been on a losing streak as of late (albeit he won 1 match at Backlash but prior to that he has lost pretty much everything of note)

The textbook answer is "WWE are going to do their best to make everyone a star and get everyone over" but in this case I think it's pretty clear that it was exactly what they were doing. Of course when they both crap the bed in the eyes of the fans, then what? Especially if Jinder wins.

Quote Roman Reigns is also backstage for an interview. Reigns says Jinder must have forgotten who he is, and people should compare his resume with Jinder's. We cut back to Jinder, and Jinder appears to have heard what Reigns said on a monitor, and he trashes Jinder. We go back to Reigns who says he knows Jinder is still in the arena, and he's going to look for him. Jinder goes looking through the arena for Mahal. He finally runs into Jinder and Sunil, and they face off. Jinder throws Singh at Reigns as a sacrifice, and then he starts brawling with Reigns. Reigns throws Jinder into a garage door, and then they get pulled apart.

This is badddddd. Crowds aren't reacting as they should be in cheering loudly for Roman against the dastardly heel.

That's because Jinder with one of his Indian 3MB guys injured, doesn't have star quality about him.

At least we know Roman won't be closing the next PPV. Management won't risk another Backlash situation of fans leaving early.

The reason people aren't cheering Roman is nothing to do with his opponent. They cheered Elias over Reigns. They cheered Miz over Reigns. They cheered Cena over Reigns.

Reigns will always be booed. Reigns will also always be watched. The crowd are part of his spectacle now, so people will always watch his matches.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Mahal has something up his sleeve for Money in the Bank, in the form of a return/debt. When he says "the storm is coming" it sounds very similar to Triple H saying "behind me comes the destroyer"

Now I don't know who it might be, probably Khali again, but I'd have little issue with this being the chosen path to debut James Storm.

The idea that WWE will do anything to get Roman cheered stop being backed up by anything resembling evidence a long time ago, 'round about the time he turned heel during the 2017 Royal Rumble match. Ever since then WWE has leaned heavily into the fact that Roman is always going to get booed unless he's alongside The Shield.

Quote Roman Reigns is backstage for an interview about Jinder Mahal. He complains about not getting another chance to take his Universal Title back from Brock Lesnar. As far as tonight goes, he's going to deliver a receipt to Jinder Mahal, paid in full. He faces Jinder Mahal up next.

- Jinder Mahal comes out to the ring with Sunil Singh and he cuts a promo about Roman Reigns. Jinder talks about his plans to defeat Reigns, and envisioning his hand raised in the air. Reigns comes out to interrupt and The Big Dog hits the ring. Jinder stays on the mic and trashes Reigns, and then he reveals that tonight "the great" Sunil Singh will be facing Reigns in Jinder's place.

- Roman Reigns vs. Sunil Singh: Sunil is hesitant, but Jinder gives him a pep talk and tells him he's got this. Roman punches Jinder off the apron, then he decks Sunil. Reigns spears Sunil down and pins for the three count.

Winner: Roman Reigns

- Immediately after the three count, Jinder hits the ring and drops Reigns. Jinder hits the Khallas and yells at Reigns. Jinder hauls Sunil out of the ring and up the ramp with him.

Jinder putting Sunil in a bad situation Sleepy It's been done to death, but thankfully was kept short.

He got pretty good heel heat from the crowd who were disapointed they weren't going to see The Great Khali.

Not sure why he hit one finisher and left Roman laying there. A proper heel would have carried on the beatdown and done at least a second finisher.

He's not that kind of heel. He's an arrogant heel. I don't know what you would define a 'proper' heel.
