Just got done watching the Seachickens go down on the Cowboys, and what pops up afterwards? ROH.

This marks the first time ever I will watch Ring of Honor. Impressions to be edited in later. I'm just marking because HEY! I didn't even know this shit was on TV! Cool, I get to finally see it.

EDIT:

Meh...

It kinda reminded me of watching WCW's answer to WWF Superstars back in 1991.

There were guys there I could tell had a lot of upside. I kinda dug this tag team, didn't catch their names, that looked like Powers of Pain. They were definitely roided up, and so looked pretty cool, and had a number of good power moves.

I didn't recognize anyone other than Jay Lethal and the Briscoe Brothers. Not sure if it was lil Jimmy, or Jobber Briscoe that was their world champion but one of them was their world champion and he looked like redneck trash. Would probably fit in well in TNA with the rest of the hillbilly gimmicks they got there.

They had the Honor Rumble, kinda like the Royal Rumble but less experienced, shorter, and having to adhere to copyright laws. Actually it was more like the Peasants Rumble, but I guess it doesn't have as good of a ring to the name.

The bright side is that it gave me a good chance to see who they had on their roster. There was one big guy that looked kinda like The Berserker (John Nord) only fat. He looked like he had some potential too. I wouldn't mind seeing more from him.

All in all, the show was a letdown, and I already was expecting really bad. I've always heard about what great matches they have in ROH, but I really didn't see anything there that you wouldn't seen in the indies.

TNA is definitely better than ROH. I would much rather continue watching NXT and Fresno California's local indie fed, Lucha Extreme on the local cable access channel.

But hey! At least I can say I've seen ROH on TV now.

That's why they're still in RoH. They were (I haven't seen them in a few years so I can't judge now) at one point easily the best tag team in the world. Some of the stuff they did I couldn't even imagine AFTER I'd seen them do it. Problem was, and apparently still is, they look like shit. If they were 5-10 years younger, I could see WWE picking them up given they don't seem to care so much about the look these days, but they're too old now. It's unfortunate really, because they could have blown people away in a mainstream organisation. Definitely the only guys I've ever seen from RoH that didn't make it to WWE/TNA that I thought really had potential.

They've got some bigass guys there that are just this side of super heavyweights that I would like to see in NXT. But yeah, the job squad is pretty sad. I was at least expecting to see chain wrestling and those famous 30 minute broadways. But it was just boring crap.

Cody Rhodes former ROH World Champion lost strangely to Dalton Castle when he had changed the course of the company for the better and then they dropped it for the new young star. And to add problems Cody lost at Wrestlekingdom 12 as well.

The American Nightmare Cody needs to collect himself. So i think Cody should give a complete one sided beat down on Dalton and win back the title. Holding for a historic length becoming the longest reigning champion in history. It should be a match like lesnar vs Cena at Summerslam 2014 when Brock beat up Cena and took the titles.

Cody should also go on to win the G1 Climax and win the IWGP World Heavyweight championship becoming the ROH IWGP World Heavyweight champion. Having classic matches before takinh out Omega to lead the Bullet Club.

Picture perfect booking 👌
In wrestling training. But very interested in fantasy booking. Creative ideas. Rumours & amazing spontanious Pro-Wrestling thoughts. From this New zealand Wrestlehead of mine. Cody.R is my guy 2 btw

So once again, I'm just flipping channels and I come across Ring of Honor. They're opening with a good match with Jay Lethal, but it didn't last long. For all of 2 seconds Lethal did look good though.

A women of honor tournament match between Brandy Rhodes and some chick named Karen Q is up next. Never heard of her before, but I see the winner of this match meets Emma. Brandy has a serious wedgey, I think on an HD TV a well timed freeze frame would yield NSFW stills. I think the Chinese chick thinks she's Asuka. Neither are very good though TBH, but considering Brandy has only just started, I don't see it as a big deal with her, just that Karen Q should have done more to carry the match and make a better showing than they did together.

I like the commentary. They're pretty good, whoever they are.

Dalton Castle & The Villain cut a backstage promo against each other. Dalton Castle looks and acts like a 1970's porn star, and not camp good either, just cringy. Meanwhile The Villian looks like a real amateur.

The Bullet Club vs Daniels, Kazarian, & Scorpio Sky
Christopher Daniels looks like a pro, sadly no one else does. The Hung Bucks (Young Bucks + Adam Page) are tiny. That said, these guys can fucking wrestle and put on a show. The Young Bucks may be dinky little squirts, but they are easy on par with The Rockers as far as being tag team specialists are concerned. Bullet Club lost their titles off Kazarian hitting Matt Jackson with the belt to the face while the ref wasn't looking, making Daniels a grand slam champion in RoH, until Bully Ray came out and restarted the match, and then the Bullet Club superkicked So Cal Uncensored and pinned Daniels to retain. The main event was actually quality and that 6-man tag championship gimmick is fairly cool, so at least the show ended well.

Kinda surprised to see Bully Ray working TV shows while he's announced as headed into the WWE Hall of Fame, but I guess it's not considered a big deal. I read that D-Von is a producer backstage in WWE now, and Bully Ray doesn't appear to be headed back into the ring to wrestle, just to work as an "enforcer" his words. He specifically said he "sure as hell don't want to be an authority" figure for RoH, which was an obvious jab at WWE's The Authority.
