Thats 5 mins more than anyone else watched of ROH this week.

Shocked they still have a TV deal, tbh, usually lost it by now.

They only still have that TV deal because they are owned by Sinclair Broadcasting. But lets remember that ROH had originally said that they were looking at a syndication deal that would allow their show to air on non-Sinclair stations. We have seen no development on that plan. I can't imagine that there's any demand for ROH's show in the syndication market.

After bumping several news threads in the WWE and TNA sections, I felt like I should just point out that little has changed with ROH.

They're still owned by a massive television corporation that's done nothing to improve their production level.

They still have a weekly TV show (not in HD) that airs mostly in late night weekend time slots.

Half of there roster is being rumored to be trying out for WWE.

They are still constantly in danger of losing a third of their roster to the Japanese promotions.

Their fans are still in denial over the state of the company and remain convinced that ROH is a legit national promotion.

They are an alternative to the normal main stream, dramatic wrestling. It's not meant to be pretty, but the wrestlers fight hard and put on terrific matches, week in and week out! You get PPV chants like "This is Awesome", each TV taping aired. It's real good, and with guys like AJ Styles coming back and Chris Hero, that does well for them. I love ROH's product. Wasn't a fan of it since it wasn't flashy, but I've given it a chance, and it has a lot of "Oh my gosh!" moments.

Just want to add this in here, they may lose stars. They've lost stars, like CM Punk, Austin Aries, Daniel Bryan, oh and the list is longer than my arm. But they find a way to fill those guys in with newer talents, stepping up and performing at their highest level of potential. It's good man, it's good!

You realise watching ROH is endorsing child abuse and paedophilia right?

You realize you speaking to a case of Macaulay Culkin vs Micheal Jackson right? Or maybe Eric Cartman and NAMBLA.

Their production values are crap. It has nothing to do with being "flashy" it has to do with them not even having HD cameras, and half the time they don't even have decent sound. There was small time promotion here in Iowa that briefly had a 30 minute TV show... and they had better production values. They only put on 1 show a month but even they could figure out how to set up a PA system that didn't have that tin-can echo to it. And they knew how to light their ring so that the action was clear on TV. They did that on a shoe-string budget. ROH is owned by a media company worth $1.5 BILLION that can't figure out how to get them a couple of HD cameras and a decent lighting rig.

TNA and WWE get plenty of crowd chants. Hell, the old ECW was the king of crowd chants. But chants weren't enough to keep ECW a float. ROH reminds me a lot of the old ECW. People tend to talk about these OMG and WTF moments that ECW had, but they forget that stuff was the exception and the majority of ECW's stuff was just stupid crap.

Alot of the same gripes that Jim Ross has been battered by ROH marks about.....

Quote From Jim Ross Website

I made some comments about ROH recently on an interview. Some of my comments, taken out of context, could easily be interpreted as meaning that I am not a fan of ROH which isn't true. I merely said if they want to improve their product and be taken more seriously that ROH needs to significantly upgrade the look of their TV show via improved production values. That's a Sinclair Broadcasting matter and merely an observation from me answering a question. Part of the solution is as simple as adding a new lighting package.

ROH has some hard working talents who give great effort so my critique isn't talent or booking related. I will say what I always say and what I believe and that's the fact that many ROH talents perform at a faster pace than is necessary especially when one wants the audience to process what they have seen.

So, at the end of the day I'm a wrestling fan who supports all promotions as I hope that others get to live out their dreams just as I did.

Production values are underated by way too many people that put emphasis on match quality.

I'd rather watch a 3* match in WWE or TNA than a 5* match in ROH because at least in those companies the sound and picture quality isn't a chore to sit through.

It's like putting the best stage actors in the shittiest dump of a theatre.

That's probably a shit analogy though because ROH haven't got the best wrestlers, they have generic template wrestlers with feeble physiques (ROH try and bill this as "realism"), boring names and attire and no sense of showmanship. Wouldn't be as bad if ROH tried smoke and mirrors with some huge pyro and titantron but they come out from behind a curtain to some lame soft rock like Breaking Benjamin with a frown on their face trying to look hard.

Oh and note to indy wrestling feds - NOBODY has ever cared about Japs in North America. Tajiri sort of got over for a while riding on Regal's coattails because Regal was so funny. Tanaka was never over as ECW Champ and ECW crowds chanted for everything. Morishima looks like a fat lesbian and Kenta looks like a Thai ladyboy.

At least 50% of wrestling is production if not more, years from now people will still be talking about The Rock vs Hulk Hogan because of the build up and the crowd reaction and the fact it was the two biggest stars in the industry. Nobody is going to be talking about how Vinnie Vanilla Midget beat Johnny Bland Bollocks in some bingo hall in front of 20 people.
