Now maybe ill get a chance to see what all the fuss is about ...

I've always heard of ROH but never went out of my way to view it. I know some big names go there and I've always wanted 2 follow but it was never on my tv.

My phone can only do so much before it lags so I can't view from here ...

ROH has a viewer in me when they come 2 TV ...

Are you sure?  Because I don't think Sinclair has owns a station broadcasting to Atlantic City.

The more I think about this deal with Sinclair... the more I think they are going to have to look at syndicating a week show.   There are individual CW and MyTV stations that would love to get something to hopefully recapture the numbers that SmackDown used to bring to them.  Remember SD was the top young male demo grabber for both CW & MyTV.

Sinclair owns & operates stations affiliated with all the major networks: NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox and CW.   MyNetwork is no longer calling itself a network but a syndication service.  MyNetwork is also owned by Fox.  Since the majority of Sinclair's stations are either Fox or MyNetwork affiliates... Sinclair is widely considered a big player for Fox Broadcasting.  This does open a route for Sinclair to syndicate ROH nationally.

Further out... I would expect for Fox to be keeping an eye on ROH.  Fox has attempted a couple of times in the past to lure away WWE.  Most visibly when Fox tried to revive the Saturday Night's Main Event specials.  Fox has settled for being a player in WWE's international broadcastin, mainly in Latin America.  Fox already has all the connections in place to offer international syndication.

Maaan, if ROH showed up on FX I would go nuts. FX is like my favorite station they have all the best non paid tv series. Its like HBO but without the language or nudity. (Well technically Kelly Carlson had a nip slip on Nip/Tuck that made it to tv but still.) ROH on FX is a great fit. FX might wanna try someone new since their amazing tv shows Terriers and Lights Out got canceled. (Fuckers)

I agree, FX is a pretty awesome station. They always have movies, and I've heard the shows are pretty good, as well. ROH needs a big platform like that if they are to even think about getting off the ground.

From a recent interview with Eric Bischoff:

Quote Whether or not he sees Ring of Honor as more of a direct competition to TNA, after the acquisition of ROH by Sinclair Broadcasting: “I know I am going to get a lot of heat for what I’m about to tell you, and I’ve got nothing against anybody at Ring of Honor. In fact I wish them all the best. I’m reading a lot of stuff people are writing, and I think they are kidding themselves. Sinclair is 22 television stations, however many it is, that has a 22% market penetration in the United States. 22% market penetration in the United States means you don’t exist from an advertisers point of view. 22% means Nielsen doesn’t even track you as a network, and that’s assuming they get distribution on all 22 of those stations, which isn’t guaranteed. So while I think it’s a great thing for ROH because at least they have something, I think the enthusiasm of the fact that it’s a network, people are getting excited over a lot of nothing.”

So that's what Bischoff says.  Just remind yourself that he's also busy getting his midget wrestling group a TV deal and is still pitching reality TV show ideas to anyone that will listen.   It's also in his better interests to knock his competition... even if most of TNA's talent has ROH history.

Say what you want about Bischoff but he usually makes good points when he is doing Radio interviews and in this case he hit the nail right on the head.

This deal can be the start of something good for ROH down the road but this isnt going to immediately catapult ROH ahead of TNA in becoming the number 2 wrestling company in the US like the ROH-bots have hilariously claimed all across the internet. Hell even TNA haters called the ROH-bots idiots

I agree with Bischoff. If the Sinclair network doesnt have enough broadcasting nationwide to make a impact and attract advertisers, this tv-deal is going to make little to no difference to ROH's status in the wrestling world.

To be honest I've no real interest in watching a bunch of spot-monkeys with no personality perform on low-budget indie-style shows.

The only plus-point would be if this encourages TNA to raise their game and perhaps poach some of ROH's top-talent, thats if they'res any worth poaching.
