So the future NFL Hall of Famer has finally given in and joined the WWE, if only part time, just like every one of his fans who are also WWE fans have always wanted to see him do.

I can't stand the New England Patriots, but even I could see the appeal of Gronk being in the WWE.

Now it appears he wants to be the next Dennis Rodman and perform in a wrestling ring during his off-season. He's a natural, and as long as he learns how to be safe (and with a close, personal friend in Mojo Rawley, safety will be drilled into him) it doesn't matter how limited in the ring he may be, he is a huge cross-over draw and is already garnering mainstream attention. Good move by the WWE to get Gronk in on the battle royal. The question now is, will he do anything MORE?

Be good to see a special attraction guy on Smackdown for a change.

He is a big name in his profession which will help Mojo get more over.

I enjoyed his pre show interaction.

Ah so this explains why Mojo won the Andre the Giant Battle Royal.

Fine with me especially if they book him in a team with Mojo. I have no issue with other athletes competing in or transitioning in to WWE provided they are willing to put the work in.

Yeah at least for all his SuperBowl wins he's got much better name value than most E bring in such as guest hosts for Raw.

Good of the Pats to let him do this in his off season as a lifelong fan.

Been on Wahlburgers the Wahlberg family reality show a few times and he's got plenty of personality so won't be wooden.

Gronk's appearance made the national news in the US. It was pretty much the only part of WM that the main stream media acknowledged about the show. So it accomplished what it was intended to do... get publicity for the company.

A couple of sports outlets said that Gronk got permission from the Patriots organization before hand. And all signs point to this being a one-and-done deal. Gronk is still under contract with the Patriots and is estimated to earn $9 million this next season.

So in 2019 we could see him sign an E contract, i'll believe it when I see it.........

Quote New England Patriots star tight end Rob Gronkowski recently made some waves by suggesting that he would be retiring from the NFL after this season. Still young and in the peak of his career, this did raise eyebrows and most chalk it up to a post-season "down" after his Pats lost out in the Superbowl. Good friend and WWE talent Mojo Rawley though added fuel to the fire by hinting that Gronk is eyeing a WWE future, going so far as to say "when" not "if" when asked in reference to a career inside the ring.

He's got way too many years left in him in the NFL making serious wonga, but could one day have a Rousey style deal way down the line.

His retirement suggestion will just be him feeling down after a SuperBowl loss and nothing more.

So Mojo just got national attention. Not bad for a casual throwaway comment.
