Most of the crowd love him, and he probably gets bigger pops than anyone on the show.

He looks much happier working on Smackdown, which he probably sees as his show.

A fairly good show opener with Cody. Rey woke the crowd up for the rest of the night.

Mysterio is the John Cena of the blue brand and to his credit noone has produced more decent matches so consistently.

I'm not his biggest fan but he is deserving of his headlining spot, he can always be relied upon to have a great match with pretty much anyone, he is really over and shifts loads of merchandise.

I honestly think he has got better with age a la Shawn Michaels.

Ok, he doesnt do triple somersaultmoonsaulthurricarranas every second anymore, but he puts on a great match 99% of the time and is actually credible now when put against bigger guys (not like those squashes in WCW).

By far the best wrestler on the roster over the last two years IMO.

Cant understand why this match was on here either, it did nothing for Cody and Mysterio went more over ugh...looked like Mysterio once again botched the 619 but I guess it was a work..this time..didnt really care much for this match.

We’re still waiting on more details to come in but Rey Mysterio recently requested his release from WWE and told officials that he would retire if they did not grant his wish. We don’t know when Rey made the request but do know it was before WWE’s big Sin Cara press conference two weeks ago in Mexico. Stay tuned for more.

Wah!  CryCryCry

There's the whiny Rey we've all grown to love again.  He's already in AAA's Hall of Fame, and he can't wait to get back to Mexico full-time.

I wonder if this was when WWE let him pick his feud with Cody Rhodes?

Rey-Rey has every right to feel agrieved. Not only does Mystico rip of his masked guy gimmick, he also gets all those sparkly visual effects added to his in-ring moves that make him look hot. Tongue

How is he ripping of Reys gimmick by wearing a mask most mexican wrestlers are high flyers that wear masks they are called luchadores

For the comic book series, see Lucha Libre (comics).
"Lucha" redirects here. For the publication, see Communist Party of Labour.

Lucha libre (Spanish: free wrestling or free fighting) is a term used in Mexico, and other Spanish-speaking countries, for a form of professional wrestling that has developed within those countries.

Mexican wrestling is characterized by rapid sequences of holds and maneuvers, as well as "high-flying" maneuvers, some of which have been adopted in the United States, and colorful masks. The wearing of masks has developed special significance, and matches are sometimes contested in which the loser must permanently remove his mask, which is a wager with a high degree of weight attached. Tag team wrestling is especially prevalent in lucha libre, particularly matches with three-member teams, called trios.

Lucha libre has also transcended the language barrier to some extent as evidenced by works such as Los Luchadores, ¡Mucha Lucha!, and Nacho Libre. Lucha libre wrestlers are known as luchadores (singular luchador) ("fighter(s)").

So he was the top star that asked for his release. (Wrestlingnewsworld premium article that said top star requested his release) Ok, why did he ask for his release? Or is it just Rey being rey since he does this once a year

from prowrestling.net:

Rey Mysterio responded to online rumors that he asked to be released from his WWE contract after WrestleMania 27. "Confirming!" Mysterio wrote on Wednesday. "Did not ask for release! Those that like me, you have Rey for a good time, and those that don't, well, life isn't always sweet." To follow Mysterio, go to Twitter.com/ReyMysterio.
