Quote WWE.com conducted an interview with backstage interviewer Renee Young, who says she wants to be WWE's first female commentator:

"I was doing color commentary down at NXT, and it’s been a really great opportunity for me to tap into my hosting background, using my brain and thinking on my feet. Being clever with it is awesome for me. I love being able to do that. I would love to be the first female to do color commentary for this company. That would be a cool thing to do. I would love to be the girl to take on that role."
It's good to hear that she has goals.

I have to say that I've come to enjoy Renee Young on TV. She has rapidly improved in her delivery. She's demonstrated a good sense of humor and has been able to improv in front of the live crowd. Equally, I've been impressed with how WWE has treated her on camera. They've allowed her to be smart when it would have been just as easy for them to treat her like a stereotypical dumb blonde that get chased off by the big scary heels all the time.

Too bad that a lot of her most enjoyable stuff gets shuffled off on to the YouTube shows and app videos.

As an interviewer she brings a fresh vibe to the position. Unlike with Josh Mathews or Matt Striker, the heels can't go for the cheap routine of roughing up the interviewer. Instead, the heels are creatively pushed to go in a different direction.

I see that a lot of fangirls are convinced that Renee has a school-girl crush on Punk.
IMO everytime that Punk is interviewed by Renee, he seems to do whatever he can to get her to crack up. In a strange way, I take that as a sign of respect.

And yeah, I like Young. She's also stood out for me as well lately. She's probably the best at that backstage interviewer position than anyone since Lillian did it in the early 00's.

Thanks to Pac for the sig.

Renee is so cute and bubbly! I would really like to see her take a crack at commentary again. The stuff with her and Horny dressed as the bear is too great. Shame she only gets the chance to show her talents on the JBL and Cole show. Hopefully she gets the opportunity to branch out soon.

Quote From Jim Ross Website

Jackson1256 Asks: I am liking Renee Young's work in WWE. Do you think she has what it takes to either be a play by play or color announcer, and do you know if she has intentions to learn to wrestle or just stick to being an interviewer?
J.R.'s Answer:

I've addressed this in my blogs. Renee is talented and talented people should not be limited as to what they can or cannot do. She's a great host and interviewer. That might be enough.

Seems everyone rates her, even those who try and shit on anything a woman does in wrestling.

She should never wrestle or be put in a storyline. She's alright evolving as she's currently booked.

She's long been on my large list of Canadian favourites (the women of that country....) and she knows how to relax on a day off Big smile

She does fairly well on commentary on nxt. She is also hosting wwes podcast on podcastone.com called the wwe experience.

In fact it was kinda funny listening to her and Goldust flirting. Cody was getting uncomfortable at times the way those two would carry on.

I see her as the new Lillian Garcia, only instead of ring announcing and singing she does commentary, kinda like Mean Gene.

Looks like Renee has caught the eye of someone new....

Quote The Observer is reporting that ESPN is very interested in WWE interviewer, Renee Young, and some are expecting they might make a move to hire her soon. She has apparently impressed a lot of people with her work in WWE, including the "Worldwide Leader in Sports".

Renee Young was not a stranger to sports broadcasting prior to signing with WWE in 2012. She's not even a stranger to pro wrestling broadcasting, specifically. She worked for The Score out of Canada from 2009-2012, hosting the show Right After Wrestling, which was later changed to Aftermath.

She signed with WWE in October of 2012.

As much as ESPN doesn't want to acknowledge anything pro-wrestling (including all the old shows they used to carry) they haven't shied away from picking up WWE commentators. Now I'm wondering how long WWE has her under contract for...

Give her the Randy Orton treatment, 10-year contract and all that. I was annoyed enough when they took Coach, this would be unforgivable.

The big plus is if she's dating Dean Ambrose like has been rumoured she will probably stick around so she can see him more.

If she's single though i'd say it's odds on that she will leave.

She can settle in one place going home after work instead of constant travel between hotels around the world. Probably a payrise, see her family more and if she decides to have children they will have a settled life too.

This

WWE need to get her contract sorted immediately - she is literally one of the hottest things on the tele right now

So what are your guys thoughts on the Renee Young heat rumors?

It IS pretty shitty she had to find out about Talking Smack getting canceled via Twitter.

Couple that with supposed heat about her marriage to Ambrose, and then getting separated with Ambrose going to Raw while she still works on SmackDown, I really kind feel bad for her.
