So I am out here looking around for a damned game to play. Sick of the stuff I do have, but unwilling to drop $60 on a game I'm not sure I'd like (I'm looking at you Titanfall).

I play plenty of games, but sometimes I run thin, especially when I don't like console games, because consoles are a pain the ass and expensive as hell.

I'm a PC Gamer, and right now I'm not finding anything.

I'm not really into Elder Scrolls Online. Everquest Next's beta is interesting, but not grabbing my attention either. I've already gotten 2 lvl 70's in Diablo 3's expansion, loved it but really burning out fast on it.

I'm looking for a good story driven game, with good character development. If I can't find anything new, I'll go back and try playing Dragon Age: Origins and DA2 again.

But I thought maybe I would start a thread here, where people can get some recommendations from others based on what they're after, and see if maybe we can help each other out.

Really? I would like to get something along the lines of another Mass Effect or Dragon Age or even Skyrim, but it doesn't necessarily need to be that in-depth, and I know BioWare doesn't have anything else out along those lines. But can anyone recommend anything?

Fallout is always worth a shout.

not as close to what you're asking for but Dark Souls 2, Starbound and Rust might interest you.

I will always recommend Theme Hospital....Not in depth at all but can always waste a few hours here and there on it.

Any of the Fallouts are a good shout (Not a huge fan of New Vegas TBH)

Games to try out:

Path of Exile (Diablo 2 Clone, F2P, very in depth character levelling, awesome look)

Darkest Dungeon (Old School 2D dungeon crawler with a very gothic look, amazing soundtrack and interesting premise - it´s not only the physical health of your party you need to watch, but their stress and mental health too. Adventuring can really weigh heavy on the mind. - Early access on Steam at the moment for 20 bucks)

Thief (Personal reccommendation. Love this game. Everything I missed in AC. recently picked it up on Steam developer sale for Square Enix games for next to nothing - 10 bucks for the 2014 Thief plus all DLCs and the original trilogy of Thief games.)

Right now, the game I'd recommend is a dungeon crawler in the vein of Eye of the Beholder and Dungeon Master, two of my all time favorites and definitely the top two of the dungeon crawler world.

There is a new top dog of the genre now.

Legend of Grimrock 2.

The first one brought the genre back from the dead, this one makes is a legit genre all over again. Absolutely beautiful, the puzzles are complex and fun, the combat is traditional and still fun. Love, love, love this game.

Yeah same here. Though I DO believe there was a free weekend for it not too long ago, where you could download and install and play the full version for a couple days.

I have the game, and liked it, but after I beat it, I was done with it.

Lego Batman 3: Beyond Gotham, definitely one for if you want something silly, or just want to bash shit up.

The Evil Within, one of the better RE rip-offs, short enough to keep your interest, puzzling enough to challenge a little, but get it in an offer, it's not worth £40.
