Let's just have one continuous topic going about the ratings.

Well, there won't be a mastur-ba-graphic like this past Monday's on next week's Raw as WWE did not win the night this week. In fact, they lost to two broadcasts. The 5/25 edition of Raw did a 3.2 cable rating, down from last week's 3.6. The show did hours of 3.08 and 3.38.

While Vince McMahon spent the week getting as much mileage as he could from the mainstream press after The Denver Nuggets took away the company's date at the Pepsi Arena, all the Nuggets and The Los Angeles Lakers did was lay the smack down on WWE by drawing a 6.9 rating for their head-to-head match-up with Raw on ESPN by more than doubling Raw's number.

To make matters worse, Raw also got doubled up by TLC's reality show "Jon & Kate, Plus 8", which ironically also was spurred by mainstream press over a supposed infidelity controversy by the show's parents. They did a 6.8 rating, which is why I wonder if it was just a ploy by them to get ratings. If so, it worked and Vince McMahon could learn from them.

That means WWE placed third on this Monday night so don't expect a graphic similar to Monday's next week.

WWE drew a 3.7 rating for the three-hour Raw on Monday, which is up from the 3.6 rating the show scored last week. Even more impressive is that the traditional two hours drew a 3.9 rating (excluding the bonus hour).

The first hour of the show drew a 3.3 rating with 4,561,000 viewers. The second hour scored a 3.75 with 5,720,000 viewers. The final hour scored a 4.1 rating with a 6,091,000 viewers.

Donald Trump’s commercial-free Raw does big rating

Whether it can be attributed to the publicity WWE received from the Donald Trump story line, the commercial-free format, the advertised main event of a Last Man Standing Match for the WWE title between Randy Orton and Triple H, or some combination of the three, one thing is for sure: Monday’s episode of Raw was a huge ratings success.

Raw drew a 4.5 rating (4.3 first hour; 4.8 second hour), a significant increase from last week’s 3.7. The show’s 6,813,000 viewers made it the most-watched episode of Raw since March 25, 2002, according to wwe.com.

You have to hand it to Trump. WrestleMania 23, which was built around his hair versus hair match against Vince McMahon, did a company-record 1.2 million pay-per-view buys in 2007, and now he is the central figure on the highest-rated Raw in more than seven years.

Based on the rating, I wonder if the Trump story line, which appeared to end on Monday after just one week, might continue at some point. A story on wwe.com about Trump’s appearance on Raw said “this may not be the end of the feud between these two world class promoters.”

* Best Raw rating in over seven years. Well done WWE Clap

* Trump = ratings people. Vince needs to keep him on the broadcasts.

* Oh and commercial free episodes more often would help as well.

Shit a 4.5, like you said Admin, Trump = ratings and I dont think Vince could do alot of commercial free episodes because it does cost alot of money not allowing to air commercials. BUT with saying that, doing a commercial-free Raw now and again wouldn't hurt, if it happens on a rare occassion.

WWE BigWigs can not ignore this number! This is going to guarantee many more appearances by The Donald, and more (but not too often) Commercial Free episodes, no doubt. With that many people watching...6million plus, which is roughly 3million more than usual...those 3million will make a difference in PPV buys and Merchandise sales, so I would say, taking the advertising revenue hit for one show, is well worth it.

I think if WWE did a commercial free Raw once every three or four months would be a good move by WWE especially with how big there ratings were for just this one time, when it hit 4.5, next weeks ratings won't hit the same number again though but that should be expected.

yeah, a commercial free episode gave it a PPV feel and when you can get a free PPV, you're gonna get more people watching than usual.  UFC pulls this off all the time.  They generally get monster ratings when they do a free PPV on Spike TV.

Even though they lose money without out commercials.  Doesn't ratings equal anything & it's a good way 2 get those empty seats filled also get more people 2 watch Raw. I feel they should have stuff like this here and there. My dream match would be Me vs Layla in an anything goes match. I'm gonna make love 2 that woman.
