So all the rumors had Orton returning this April. Here it is the first Raw of May and in St. Louis, his hometown crowd and still nothing.

Seems like Vince would be itching to get one of his main event era back. I mean, I'm not complaining. I'm not really in any hurry to see him.back even after all these months, but my curiosity is piqued. Where is Orton? IS he coming back?

If he never wrestles again it won't shock me as he's supposedly like Brock Lesnar in being savvy with his cash, not liking publicity etc.

He's had alot of injuries and barely wrestled for a number of years now, so it's probably not worth the risk for him as he doesn't need the cash.

He's probably seen what's happened to guys he started around same time as such as John Cena and though no thanks.

To say that Randy Orton isn't main event level is absurd. Also, this isn't main event level anyway. Orton goes through phases and right now he's rocking the midcard, lending it credibility and laying down to establish others. What's not to like?

Sure, his wrestling style is a bit too old school and slow paced for the modern crowd but it's against Jeff Hardy, who always pops a crowd. It won't be the five star classic that fans seem to think every match has to be now but it'll still be a lot of fun.

Quote You may have noticed that Randy Orton was not a part of WWE’s recent European Tour. Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports that the reason for this is because Orton’s contract with WWE only requires him to work a limited touring schedule.

The Viper was not required to participate in the European Tour so he stayed back home and spent time with his family. Rumors of Orton being injured or having backstage heat are simply not true.

If I had the contract of Randall it's the foreign tours that I would prefer doing, instead of local ones.

Yes it means more travelling, but you get to see more of the world and our crowds are generally bigger and louder.

Plus it's a lucrative tour and you can never have enough money, especially as a divorcee LOL

Thing you have to remember is Randy is now a WWE veteran, he’s done years of overseas touring and I’m sure it’s fun during the early years when it’s all new and exciting especially if you have no family at home to get back to, but now he’s older and has been there and done that several times over and has a young family I can fully understand him preferring to stay home. Chances are anyway during these tours the talent don’t get to see much of the place and it’s all work then jetting back to the states.

At this point in his career IMO he needs to be winding down, he pretty much has to get one more title run as a thank you for all your hard work. All employees get that if they've been with the company for 15 or more years in a row, and he's a first ballot hall of famer guy, just like Cena. He's getting more and more injury prone, he has a family now, and he has millions to live off, as well as plenty of royalties checks he'll be picking up in the future.

So either come back from injury, reinvent yourself like you're Chris Jericho back for another tour, and keep going for another 10 years because you're just that passionate about the business. (He's not) Or come back from injury, and find a way to wind things down, maybe with a retirement match, and move on with your life.

Commentary brought up some good points tonight about how he doesn't get the recognition Cena, Flair and Hs do when he's up there with them for world titles.

They were probably right that we take him for granted because he's still around a lot especially compared to others.

When he gets older and ends up being seen only a handful of times a year for special occasions he will probably be liked more.

The thing about Orton is that he's probably now got more matches under his belt than anyone from the class of 2002. He's been wrestling longer than Cena now since Cena took off a few years ago. So for that reason I would think Orton deserves another title run just to get him tied with HHH & Sting for second place. He's still got a few good years left in him so I wouldn't even be opposed to seeing him tie Cena & Flair.

Orton doesn't get the credit he deserves and I'm glad Triple H put him over so strong both in the match and with his post-match comments.

I think Orton deserves one last good run as a champion, I would actually like to see him be the one to dethrone Kofi and I don't think that'll be too far away as apparently ratings are down with Kofi as champ.

Randy may actually hold the record for the longest consistent main event career in WWE history and maybe as mentioned that is the reason he isn't held in the same regard as other top guys, Hogan, Austin and The Rock etc were only on top for around 6-7 years at best I think in WWE, at least while working full-time.
