At least if he was Ron Killings or R-Truth it would show that the guy does have some charisma.

I think its because WWE want there wrestlers to portray characters either that or whoever does creative liked the movie Martin Lawerence did thus why they gave it to Killings because like Lawerence, Killings is black.

It is a shame that WWE have thrown this onto Killings as he has good charisma and makes a good top midcarder but I also believe WWE might be punishing him here because of him being in TNA.

-- R-Truth came up with the idea to do the "Pretty Ricky" character. He was apparently messing around doing the character on the road and some WWE people saw it, so now it's on national television. SmackDown creative writer Chris DeJosephs (a/k/a Big Dick Johnson) is in charge of producing the skits and Vince McMahon "absolutely loves them." Quite like the movie Bruno, most of the stuff you see are legitimate reactions, such as the initial skit in which he tried to go over the merchandise seller's table to take stuff with security dragging him away.

* How did Truth come up with the idea? He only did it on the road. Not like he went up to creative and asked to do it on television.

* Having Vince on side should hopefully help him a great deal in the future when it comes to a good push.

* I didn't realise the skits were legit reactions. I might enjoy them a bit more now.

At least if Truth created the character himself then hes not being saddled with some lame gimmick creative dreamed up, and if Vince loves it then that hopefully means Truth will be in line for a decent push in the near future.

I dont like the segments one bit but if it helps the WWE career of Ron Killings then i can put up with them.

Source: Ewrestlingnews.com:

ยป While WWE has not run any "Pretty Ricky" vignettes as of late (a vignette was scratched from the script two weeks ago), the idea is not dead. Unfortunately for Ron Killings, no one in creative is really backing him despite his charisma. His age (37) may be working against him as the company is going on something of a youth movement. However, it has been noted that Vince McMahon loves his "Pretty Ricky" character.

BUMP!!

Shame that Killings dosnt have any support in creative but I can understand that his age is a factor, the way they could be looking at it is by the time he establishes himself as a main eventer he'll be pushing 40, and thats if he makes it as a headliner.
Basically if he did make it chances are just as his popularity is taking off and he is starting to draw he could decide to retire or suffer a injury that forces him to.

But despite all this I do think they should elevate him to at least a high mid-card spot, kind of on a par with the likes of Jericho and Mysterio but below the likes of Cena, Orton, Batista and HHH.

I really dont see R Truth ever being taken seriously, yes his age is a factor, but so is his charisma, his look and what he does in that ring, IMO he doesnt look like a World champion, he looks more like a midcarder than anything and thats what WWE should be doing with Truth, pushing him for the Intercontinental title, even if he doesnt win it I'm sure he could put on some decent matches with whoever the champion is.

Hopefully Truth gets a small push because IMO him going from TNA to WWE right now just looks like he made one big mistake.

* Not sure in the point of the trailer. I'd have prefered him to have been put in a match.

* It looks like the Tricky Ricky stuff has been dropped (unless i've missed it) which is a great idea.

* Get him put in the I.C picture because he deserves it but creative don't seem to think so.

Yeah well Admin if you read Fletch's last post in this thread, you would see that WWE have at the current moment scrapped the idea of Pretty Ricky, though Vince is high on it, no one in creative is backing it.

Given the fact that Ron Killings is very charismatic, can work decent short matches in the mid card, and Vince is high on the ridiculous Pretty Ricky segments, I would suggest Killings is better suited to the Raw brand.

I would have him switch places with Evan Bourne, Matt Sydal will fair much better on SD which is a more wrestling orientated show and R-Truth will be a nice addition to the mid-card/US title picture.

Sorry BG, but it's spelled Lawrence ... lol ... Also I have no idea what R - Truth & Martin Lawrence have in common. I'm really not getting this comparison.
Trags for HOF'er !

Yeah I think Killings would do much better on Raw than Smackdown especially since they are more about gimmicks and Smackdown is more for wrestling, Evan would fair so much better on Smackdown because he could get into a decent feud with the likes of Jericho, Punk, Morrison, Mysterio... Guys that are like him, fast paced and such, while Raw like i've stated before is pretty much a big mans brand.
