Yeah that was the first person i thought of when i saw Truth with those teeth. LOL

But i completely agree with Admin, this gimmick is awfull, its not even remotely funny and is just making a complete idiot out of Ron Killings who was really over with his R-Truth gimmick.
Its almost as if someone in management has it in for him because this gimmick really is career suicide.

MH - that's what I thought when I saw him doing his "Pretty Ricky" stuff! The teeth looked exactly like the Duane Dibbley ones that Danny John Jules wears in those episodes.

Not good at all IMO - he just looks totally stupid!

From Jim Ross Website...........

Hey JR, what do you think R-truth needs to do to get in the higher part of the card. I really liked what he did with jericho...you always said shelton benjamin needed to light the fire..what does r truth need to light?

R Truth is ever improving and is getting closer to where he wants to be, I'm sure. He certainly doesn't have a shortage of charisma and will.

* Now he's nowhere near where he wants to be because he's been made into a joke character.

* R Truth was getting closer to the level Shelton wished he was at and now it's all been for nothing.

* Someone in creative has it in for him real bad to the point where it's not funny.

R-Truth is a prime example of how badly WWE can screw up sometimes.

When Truth was set to debut they ran vignettes documenting his troubled past which were good and helped establish his identity and get him over.
When he made his debut his dance routine and rapping along to his entrance theme was annoying but made him popular with the kids and marks.
His in ring work was impressive and he got a few nice wins and was seemingly headed for a US title reign before being beaten by Shelton Benjiman and then his push just stalled and he became a jobber for no apparent reason.

More recently he has gained a few wins in the mid card and his push seemed to be gaining momentum once more but then out of the blue they unleash this Pretty Ricky garbage.
It really is like someone in management is watching him and everytime his career starts to pick up they do whatever it takes to sabotage him.

Is it just me or are WWE against pushing black people who are really over? Lets be honest here, R-Truth the fans are/were getting behind him with that rapper gimmick he had going and then you got MVP who's fan reaction is seldom but the fans were slowly getting behind himm then WWE pulled a stop to that and made him job to Triple H, so yeah it just seems to me WWE arent really high on pushing the blacks, ok sure Kofi is US champ right now but for how long? How long till WWE say "fuck it" and hand Big Show the title.

SmackDown wrestler R-Truth's "Pretty Ricky" persona was apparently inspired by a character actor Martin Lawrence played in the 1999 action comedy film Blue Streak. You can see video of Lawrence portraying the character at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TN2M3c88N4

* Note to creative: He is Ron Killings and not some movie character that's almost twenty years old.

* Previous segments were bad but some of it was funny. The one last night though had no laugh out moments at all.

* If he ever makes it big in the future I can't see them using any of this footage for his DVD.

Watching that last segment made me think it wouldnt be so bad if they would just let him be himself, why does he have to wear the dodgy fake teeth and call himself Pretty Ricky?
At least if he was Ron Killings or R-Truth it would show that the guy does have some charisma.

Pretty Ricky isn't funny

The problem I have with R-Truth is that he needs to have a quick wrestler with him to make a good match. He is too much a 'TNA star'. That isn't a bad thing but the WWE is a lot slower than TNA and when R'Truth goes up against a 'WWE star' like Kane the match looks terrible. If he goes up against someone like Morrison who could work for either company he can have a decent match. He will never be a World Champion he would be extremely lucky if he got the IC Belt
