SHIMMER Women's Wrestling issued the following today:

Everyone at SHIMMER - WOMEN ATHLETES would like to congratulate Serena Deeb on officially signing a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment.

From the first day she stepped into a wrestling ring, it has always been Serena's goal to earn a job with WWE. Serena moved from Virginia to Kentucky on her own dime for the sole purpose of enrolling in the Ohio Valley Wrestling training program several years ago, and she has been a mainstay in the OVW women's division ever since.

Serena debuted for SHIMMER on May 21, 2006 as a last minute substitution when an opening on the lineup created an opportunity. During the three years that followed, Serena displayed tremendous drive, determination, and eagerness to constantly learn. She has always tried to improve her game, be it in SHIMMER competition, at OVW, or in her handful of appearances for Ring of Honor.

Despite OVW losing its status a WWE developmental territory last year, Serena remained focused on achieving her goal of impressing WWE officials enough to be given a chance. All of Serena's hard work has now paid off, as she will soon be relocating to Florida to start with WWE developmental territory Florida Championship Wrestling.

Personally speaking, I feel that Serena Deeb is one of the top three female babyface talents in North America today. She's got unbelievable fire, and can project emotion better than most wrestlers of a similar age and experience level. These are essential attributes to go along with the sound athletic wrestling fundamentals which she also possesses. She's a complete package, and is perfect for television.

Serena's training at OVW not only prepared her quite well for professional wrestling in general, but also specifically for the style of wrestling which WWE is looking for. Serena's continued instruction at FCW will only sharpen her existing skills, in preparation for the next stage of her career.

The three match series between Serena and Sara Del Rey were truly breakout performances for her as a wrestler. I feel those matches excellently displayed Serena's unbelievable potential to become a star in this industry. In her outings several weeks ago at the SHIMMER Vols. 23-26 tapings in Chicago, Serena continued to show that she absolutely deserved the spot at the top of the card that she had worked her way into.

I'd like to thank Serena Deeb for all of her contributions to SHIMMER during the past three years. From all of the memorable matches, to sacrificing her car on the drive up for the SHIMMER Title Tournament weekend, Serena gave so much to our product. Though we'll greatly miss her at future tapings, Serena has now been given the chance of a lifetime-- to work her way to the top of her chosen profession.

Good luck, Serena... and congrats!

The best thing about Serena Deeb is, she started watching wrestling at the age of 11 and is a huge fan of the sport, so WWE have done well in signing her up, hopefully they use her right.

Also shes not that bad looking either, so heres hoping WWE can utilise her well enough especially down in FCW and then bring her up through ECW to feud with Katie Lea Burchill.

* Look at that pervert checking out her arse LOL If it was me i'd be admiring it instead.

* She looks like a younger and better looking version of Dawn Marie.

* Hopefully she's way better in the ring than her. I'm sure she will be.

For those that havent seen Serena Deeb in action here is a video of her against Lacey for ROH (I think): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rinuW6Vu8II - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rinuW6Vu8II

Shes not a bad wrestler and I think if WWE actually did give a shit about there Diva's Division in wrestling, she'd be a handy player for them to have as shes beautiful, shes got the talent and thats all that counts for Vinny Mac and Johnny Ass when it comes to hiring divas.

I'm glad she isn't the cookie cutter diva, that they normally sign. Thoughts on her new name that she'll be given?

admin, can you blame that guy? I mean the ass was RIGHT there, so why not? lol

Even though I've never seen her wrestle, I'm excited for this signing. Anything that can/will improve the Women's or Diva's Divisions, I'm all for. I've said it before, some women's matches are as good as, if not better than, the men's matches. Good signing by WWE.

Actually that fan looks like he's sniffing her ass, lol. But damn who can blame him? Damn she is one hot lady thats for sure and its a good signing by WWE, I bet Johnny Ass had nothing to do with it though.

The rumor mill is rumbling that Serena is about to sign again and is in the process of undergoing her medical examinations to determine whether or not she is physically fit enough (as well as er... 'chemically pure enough') to compete in a WWE ring.

In all likelihood she'll pass and debut soon, somewhere on WWE. I kind of doubt she'll be in NXT, but she might.

The question I have is what does WWE do with her??? By the sounds of it, they've wanted to bring her back for a little while now, so that to me sounds like they want her for a current storyline, though I could easily be misreading this.

She has had a stint in Japan, she's a former member of the Straight Edge Society with Luke Gallows... Might she be a female representative of Balor Club Worldwide??? Could she, perhaps reinvigorate that ridiculous faction on Smackdown by taking over and sending Ruby Riot onto bigger and better things on Smackdown alone?

Who the hell knows, but that's just my idea.

What do you guys think they'll have for her? Enhancement talent maybe?

Well let's be honest they can't possibly screw up her second run worse than they screwed up her original run can they?

I never saw much of her in the ring last time so I would look forward to seeing her were she to return. I would not be surprised if she has a whole new name with no mention of her association with the Straight Edge Society.

I do agree she has the fit for the Balor Club.

A female member of The Club would be very good to line up against Sanity with.

It's also not often you see female members in stables and given that WWE have been bringing stables back I think that would be a good call, really. What was the last great intergender stable in WWE? Last one I can think of, to be honest, was DX.

That depends if you consider Dolph Ziggler, A.J. Lee, and Big E. Langston to be a stable.

Or if you consider them to be great. Tongue

Yeah I'm with Kondor on this, you'd have to define 'great'. haha Ziggler, AJ & Biggie LOLs is one, before that the Straight Edge Society, but currently SaNiTy is pretty great no matter your definition of great, but rather of your definition of 'WWE'. ;)

Come on what about the corporation they had Stephanie and Tori and even at one stage Chyna.

Oh well in that case I guess you'd have to go with The Authority, right? Vince McMahon, Triple H, Stephanie, Seth Rollins, Randy Orton, Corporate Kane, & J&J Security?

Personally I wouldn't count any group that had Stephanie in it, but maybe that one works...

That was waaay earlier, by like 13 years Shiz. The question was the last great intergender faction. Tongue

But it is good to see the Green Machine Tori get a mention. She is overlooked.

For that matter let's throw in the holders of the title of the worst theme music ever, the Right To Censor with Ivory.

No, none of this has anything to do with Serena. Tongue

I understand I still stand by my statement though I will give you right to censor as annoying as they were they were still one of the best factions going around and actually gave guys that originally had over the top gimmicks something a bit more realistic.

Just random thinking, but (as she was rumored to return a few weeks ago) I wonder what the chances are of her showing up for the WrestleMania women's battle royal are.

I would love it; and WrestleMania would be a good way for her to return regardless of what she does afterwards.

Like I said, just thinking out loud.

I don't really know much about her as a wrestler, just a bit of her history. As such I'm not all that interested in her return, unless she turns out to really be something. From what I have seen she's not bad. But without any real character, 'not bad' is going to go very far.
