i thought smackdown last week was cool. i LOVE eddies new t shirt. might have to buy one of them lol. chapter two was interesting. and unlike other superover face wrestlers that turn heel (hogan, rock, taker etc). eddie doesnt get many cheers. which shows hes doing his job right. JBL carried batista at the contract signing. i aint looking forward to there match. but he knows how to take a beating. the tag champions are poor. and taker is a waste of space with his part time schedule. the crowd was rightly pissed off when he didnt turn up in the orton skit.

Hmm...Some interesting news on Batista and Daivari:

The current outlook on Batista at the moment within WWE is that management is protecting him in his role as World Heavyweight Champion on SmackDown since they feel he is largely lost in the ring without a veteran worker like Triple H. The ongoing word is that they don't want to expose his in-ring weakness to the fans and feel his in-ring time on TV should be more limited. Despite these flaws, Batista is said to have a great attitude backstage, has a desire to learn and understands his strengths and weaknesses at this point in his career.

Khosrow Daivari will be moved to the Deep South developmental territory in Georiga soon where his character will be repackaged following the removal of Muhammad Hassan from WWE programming in July. Hassan is expected to be moved back to Ohio Valley Wrestling where he was for many years before being brought up to the main roster this past year.

The poster for the upcoming RAW brand Unforgiven pay per view on September 18th shows John Cena and Kurt Angle as the main event. Cena is also holding the WWE Championship on the poster.

seems like nobody watches smackdown . been a while without a review of the show. orton must have done something wrong to have to face hardcore. this guy continues to be popular with the crowd for no reason at all. booker T could be on the verge of a push. the whole "what have you done" line could be teasing a push. they also seem to tease a christian turn. ken kennedy gets on smackdown with his limited appeal. but they couldnt find kazarian anything to do. thats appauling. LOD was involved in the show when they should both be fired. MNM should still be the tag champions. and hopefully will regain soon. the TV guy had a look of christopher nowinski about him and i was impressed with his persona. the main event was alright i guess. 5 main eventers and orlando jordan. he should be fired in the next batch of releases.

I think RAW made a mistake by sending Candice Michelle there i think they shoulda put Melina to give her a decent push for the Women's title.

I just don't like MNM but i like Melina more then them.

Melina scored a victory over Torrie at GAB 2005 and i think she should've been picked to RAW after that performance.

JBL v Batista again.  Batista has to beat HHH 3 times and now he has to beat JBL for a third time.  Cant they just give somebody else a crack at Batista.  I think he's held the belt for long enough but I dont want to see JBL as the champion again.  It needs someone different like Randy Orton to step up and challenge.

Again they had stuff for Frankie........he didn't want to do any of it.....Randy did nothing wrong.....why do you think he would have to something wrong just because he wrestled Bob Holly?  There are no plans at this time for any more releases.  and Animal will be gone when they are through promoting the DVD.  As for MNM they are on thin ice right now with Vince.....I am not sure what happened this  week backstage, but Vince was not happy with thim.

sounds like all they had for kazarian was to cut his hair. people who wrestle hardcore "usually have done something wrong. randy had some real sore marks on this chest after that match. they should be plans for more releases because certain people are really poor and dont deserve a career in the sport. i hope your right about animal going. and i hope he takes heidenreich with him for one. and i would be curious to know what MNM have done to make vinnie mac upset. if its to do with them having to drop the titles then i dont blame them.

not a bad smackdown. im liking the tv excutive guy. reminds me of christopher nowinski which aint a bad thing. birchill looked good in the ring. the guy will go far under william regal. eddie talking from behind a cage saying how do you beat someone who as nothing to lose was a good promo. i like the ortons promo too with the undertaker retirement fund. i like how they made batista look good by putting him with simon dean. the promos were better then the matches. orton and rey put on a good match. i hope to see a fued between the two of them.

MNM Did nothing wrong, Vince is very happy with their work in ring and Some People even said that vince Likes Melinas Entrance (So he is Human after all), the reason why they lost the titles was because Animal needed something to do on screen so promote his DVD, and Heidenreich just needed a veteran to help hide his in ring skills

Melina isn't the one on thin ice.....Mercury and Nitro are.....and no Vince is not happy with their in ring abilities.  All I know is at the taping last week Vince told them that if things didn't improve they would be moved back to OVW.....so this week they have been on their best behavior.

WRong....Hawk died two years ago.  Animal didn't neet a title run with anyone.....and hate to break it to you....but you don't get over a death because of a stupid title run.....I would love to see you say that to animal's face....I promise I will come visit you in the hospital...

All right man don't get your panties in a bunch i reckon that the LOD DVD will be done and they lose the titles to Paul London and Rey Mysterio.

***Smackdown Spoilers***

Thanks to WrestlingObserver.com for these: In the dark-match pre-Velocity, Kid Kash and Brian Kendrick d. a generic looking tag team. After the intro of the Velocity announce team, Mexicools Super Crazy & Psichosis d. Big Vito and Nunzio after a leg drop from the top rope. Mexicools were over big as faces with most of the crowd (noticed a lot of Hispanics there tonight). Sylvan (no longer Grenier and now the Euro Fashion Model - as opposed to MNM the Hollywood Fashion Models) d. Matt Johnson (announced as being from Atlanta). In your Velocity main event, Booker T with his annoying wife d. Steven Richards with the axe kick after the spinaroonie. Booker got one of the bigger reactions of the night (probably for being the first "superstar"). To start SD!, Teddy Long comes on the Tron and announces that due to the telethon, the first hour of SD! will air exclusively on WWE.com, with the second hour airing at 9 central on UPN (as soon as he said 9 central he knew he screwed up). In the first match, Heidenreich and Road Warrior Animal d. MNM to retain the WWE Tag Team Titles. After the most contrived ref bump in history, Melina sneaks in to hit Animal with the title belt, but Animal grabs it, turns around and hits (I think) Nitro with it to get the pin. Ken Kennedy d. Paul London with the fireman's carry splash off the top. Not a lot of people knew who Kennedy was, but by the end of the night he was getting a solid reaction. For the record, as Kennedy announced, it was a 20-minute time limit and he weighed in at 243 pounds. Bushill d. Scotty 2 Hotty in the bathroom break match. People of course started the USA chant at Bushill, which considering that the UK is pretty much our only strong ally in the war on terror, I don't know how smart that is. Finish saw Burchill with a shoulderbreaker into an armbreaker. The Undertaker came out, calling out Randy Orton. Randy comes out with father in tow and has a giant check brought out for the Undertaker Retirement Fund in the amount of $1,416. The Undertaker didn't accept the gift and instead used his power of exploding stuff and creating fire to set the check ablaze. The televised portion of SD! starts with Eddie d. Rey Mysterio in a STEEL CAGE~! match. Farily solid, but fans seemed to want more stuff off the cage. Finish saw Rey miss a splash from the top of the cage, then Eddie get out of the cage, get to the bottom step, and come back to hit a frog splash for the pin. Ken Kennedy runs into Sharmell backstage and introduces himself. He tries to start something between Benoit and Booker T by suggesting "Friends don't let friends drive drunk, but the sure as heck give them title shots!" Before Sharmell could respond, Ken says it was a pleasure meeting you and the name is Ken Kennedy --- Kennedy. Crowd ate it up. After the Benoit DVD video aired (without the plug for the DVD), they showed the Linda McMahon PSA for flood relief. Tha segued into Atlanta, GA's own Chris Benoit (sure) d. Orlando Jordan in 22.5 seconds. You knew something was up when they put the timer on the Tron. During the show, Teddy and the "network guy" were up in a suite overlooking the arena and 5,000 or so empty seats. Looked like Christy Hemme and Stacy were up there as well. Our main event saw Batista d. JBL in a BULL ROPE~! match to retain the World Heavyweight Title. After a dazzling display of clotheslines, the finish came when Batista powerbombed JBL, then started dragging him around to every corner with JBL touching the corner right afterward. At the fourth, JBL flipped over Batista, reached for the corner and looked like he would get it for about 10 seconds. Then Batista pulled him back, hit a spinebuster and touched the corner to end it. Dark match main saw Undertaker d. Randy Orton in a pretty competitive match. A lot of fans were leaving, then turned around and came back at the end. A fairly hot crowd, but Atlanta is definitely a Raw town. The Raw here in March drew almost a legit sellout. Tonight, there were tons of empty sections on the hard camera side, and the entire 200 level was tarped off.

Well I am upset I wanted MNM to get the title, I won't be watching Smackdown this week

terry. if you want to quote things you can put the writing in between

them two things. smackdown as now set the standard that we want every week on the show. i hope it doesnt slip because its not the first episode now. i thought they may have had a title change with the tag belts. but ill wait until no mercy for MNM to regain the belts. eddie and rey was a great match that saw the best ending possible which was eddie getting the win. paul london is being made to look a fool. and losing to ken kenedy who i dont like much anyway pissed me off. and JBL yet again turned it on in a gimmick match. the guy gets alot of unwaranted bad press.

Quote Thanks to reader BrEtt420x for sending this in:

Just got back from SD! live from Lubbock, TX and I gotta say what a show it was! Finally us people here in Lubbock got to see a good televised event with complete entrance/pyros and everything! We had great seats, 4th row on the floor right by the entrance way. Everything on the card from top to bottom was excellent and the Lubbock crowd was hot all night long...even the dark matches got huge ovations. Now some of the finishers and the order of certain things on the show aren't in complete order I'm sure. But I'll do my best to report everything the best I remember it. Here it goes..

A WWE InDemand 24/7 video is show (clips of Flair, HBK, Hogan and SCSA got great ovations)

Opening Dark Match

Paul London d. Jobber (The One that lost to Tomko on RAW I think)
-London was over pretty big in LBK! London at first mocked the way the jobber was walking with his chest out in the ring. London did a couple of high spots but we didn't get to see the 450 :-( London of course got the win with some kind of roll up/pinning combo I think

Camera men and Josh Matthews and Steve Romero (or whatever his name is) came to the ring to an ok ovation. People kept calling Josh "Tough Enough Boy"!

Velocity

Brian Kendrick .aka. Spanky d. Jobber
-Can't remember the jobbers name. Spanky came out to a pretty good reaction and the match was on. Went back and forth and jobber got some offense in against Spanky but out of no where Spanky takes the match back and nails his Sliced Bread #2 for the win.

Scotty 2 Hotty/Funaki d. William Regal/Paul Burchill (DQ)
-What you'd expect from these four. Regal was getting a lot of heat and no one really knew who Paul was. Scotty 2 Hotty and Funaki got good ovations and when they started winning the match, Regal and Burchill got Scotty outside and started kicking the hell out of him. The ref tried to get them to stop but they wouldn't and he was forced to call for the bell. (I'm pretty sure that's what happened)

Psichosis/Super Crazy w/ Juvi d. Big Vito/Nunzio
-Nunzio and Vito got pretty good heat. The Mexicools were way over with the LBK crowd. Juvi cheated during the match and caught Vito's leg when he hit the ropes. Ref threatened to eject Juvi and got a lot of heat for it. Anyways The Mexicools win some how...sorry guys.

Ring Crew comes down and switches out the ring apron and Tazz and Michael Cole come out for SD! Tazz got a great reaction (ECW chants were alive and well) Tony Chimmel announces that the want everyone to go nuts and raise their signs up because SD! is kicking off. Pyro's go off and the show is on...

SMACKDOWN!

Booker T w/ Sharmel d. Christian
-As you probably know Booker T was way over and Christian got good heat. The match was like most of what you've seen from these two. Sharmel got the ref's attention a couple times but almost accidentally came close to costing Booker T the match. But Booker counters with a roll up and barley gets the three. Booker T and Sharmel (who didn't like my Batista Bomb Sharmel sign) took their leave and Christian had a fit in the ring.

Stacy and Christy were shown backstage and they were interrupted by Sylvian but he was quickly cut off by Hardcore Holly who told him to match his black boots and tights he was gonna give him a black eye to match. Holly walks off and Sylvian looks worried.

Hardcore Holly w/ Stacy and Christy d. Sylvian (Count Out)
-Sylvian didn't get any reaction. Holly followed to a decent ovation. Holly knocked Sylvian around and ended up punching him right in the eye. Sylvian rolls out of the ring and is to worried about his eye to continue and leaves ringside and ref makes 10 count and hands Holly the victory. Holly/Stacy/Christy celebrate.

Palmer Cannon and Teddy Long are shown on the screen with Eddie Guerrero who is saying he's having horrible stomach pains (couldn't hear it all, crowd was giving Christian heat on his way to the back) but Eddie was saying he didn't think he could work the main event. Eddie excuses himself and goes and starts puking (off camera) and Palmer and Teddy are grossing out on the screen.

JBL comes out on a horse dressed in standard cowboy boots, jeans, jean shirt and cowboy hat and claims to be Lubbock's and Texas' "favorite son". JBL did a speech saying basically New York is better than Texas and he's glad he moved away but he likes visiting. JBL did his normal "Wrestling God" bs and left the ring...finally.

WWE Tag Team Title Bout
Animal/Heidenreich(c) d. Two Jobbers
-Quick match as always. "LOD" was over and no one had any idea who the jobbers were and didn't give them a chance at all. "LOD" dominates and "LOD" nails the Doomsday Device and it's over and "LOD" retains.

SD! crew comes out to set up ring for a "funeral" for the Undertaker. Bob Orton comes to the ring and got in the ring and rushed the crew who brought down a casket, carpet, flowers and set them up in the ring and showed what happened last week between Orton and Taker in their match. Randy Orton comes out to a lot of heat (except 12 year old girls) and talks about how he had a dumby in the casket last week and how he played mind games with Taker and said that he scared the life out of Taker and knows he'll never be the same again. Orton opens the casket and reveals the dumby but it's no dumby...it's Undertaker he reaches up and chokes Orton and steps out of the casket and tosses Orton into the casket. The casket tips over and Orton gets the hell out of the ring fast and he and his Dad roll out quick. Taker is over huge!

Batista is shown talking to Teddy Long backstage, Batista is working out...not much to note here.

Bobby Lashey (making his SD! debut) d. Simon Dean
-Dean came out on his usual scooter thing and Lashey was introduced by Chimmel and it sounds like this guy has done some impressive things in his career. Lashey comes out to a good reaction and this guy is huge! Puts TNA's Monty Brown to shame! Lashey squashes Dean and finishes him off with a modified Dominator! Lashey gets a standing ovation!

Ken Kennedy d. Rey Mysterio
-Kennedy came out and told Chimmel he finally did his announcing right and gave him a hug and apologized for being mean to him for the past month. Chimmel accepts but Kennedy trips him and starts laughing and this time announces himself again using a special mic that came down from the rafters. Mysterio was over huge. Mysterio tried for a 619 but couldn't nail it. JBL comes back out on his horse and distracts Mysterio and Kennedy catches Mysterio on the top rope and hits his top rope finisher for the win. Kennedy got huge heat and Mysterio on the way out got a standing ovation.

Sharmel is shown with Booker T and he and Sharmel were talking about his great win and kind of get into a slight argument and Sharmel told Booker he needs to step up and take the US title...telling him Christian beat Benoit and he just beat Christian and says he needs to take the respect that the company isn't giving him and get a US title shot.

Palmer and Cannon are shown and Eddie is still having pains, Palmer arranged for a hot nurse to give Eddie a rub down. Nurse comes in and Eddie is enjoying it way to much...that's all I'm gonna say, just watch it's funny stuff!

WWE US Title Bout
Chris Benoit(c) d. Orlando Jordan
-Benoit got a standing ovation and was over huge! Orlando didn't like me calling him Buck Wheat and called me a "Little Punk". Orlando outlasted the usual 25 seconds by ducking behind the ropes. When he saw the clock was passed 25 he was like "I told you so..." and Benoit locks on the Crossface and makes Orlando submit immediately!

Batista sneaks in the room where Eddie is getting a massage and makes the nurse step aside and scares the hell out of Eddie. Eddie says he doesn't know if he will be able to wrestle.

Batista/Eddie Guerrero d. MNM
-It was a tag match but Eddie didn't wrestle the entire match and laid around the guardrail and held his stomach and Batista beat the hell out of MNM and took control of the match and nailed Mercury with a Batista Bomb and then Eddie sneaks up and makes a blind tag and hits the Frog Splash to win the match. Batista seems upset and Eddie quickly jumps up and praises Batista and presents him with the World Title and hugs him and acts like everything is cool.

SD! Ends

Special Six Man Tag Begins

Undertaker/Rey Mysterio/Batista d. JBL/Randy Orton/Eddie Guerrero
-Eddie never wrestled he asked JBL and Orton if he could leave because things were gonna start smelling a whole lot worse if he stayed at ringside. They let him leave and the match starts. Basically a comedy match with JBL and Orton not being able to catch Mysterio in the ring. Finish sees Batista and Undertaker finish off Orton and JBL for the win. Undertaker, Batista and Mysterio pose for the crowd. JBL leaves and Orton follows and gives himself a wedgie so everyone can see his ass...sick I know.

Overall a great show! Awesome just a hundred or so tickets left!

Best Pop
-Batista
-Undertaker
-Rey Mysterio
-Chris Benoit

Worst Heat
-JBL
-Randy Orton
-Eddie Guerrero
-Ken Kennedy

im interested to see now if this bobby lashey is as good as monty brown. that is some comment for this writer to make. i like how that fan got a funny look off sharmell and orlando. thats what id try and do get a reaction from a superstar. eddie playing the mate game is funny. dont know how long that will last. the 6 man dark match after smackdown will lead to 3 different matches at no mercy. saying only 12 yearold girls cheer for orton. i can say i cheer for him because hes a good wrestler. i aint going to cheer for undertaker just because wwe want me to because hes the face.

might as well start by saying bobby lashey is going to be a future champion within a year and he deserves it. never seen a reaction like that for a debut since brock lesnar. and this guy inpressed me doing press ups with simon dean on his back. plus hes a 3 time all american so can wrestle. eddie being sick in the back with the hot nurse then batista saying he needs a doctor not a nurse was funny. the skits through the show were good. orton and taker are to be fair having a good fued. the show was better then this weeks raw.

Quote Thanks to Cesar & PWInsider.com for the following:

The Dark Match saw Sylvain Grenier defeated luchador and former ECW star Antifaz in a short match. Crowd popped for Antifaz.

Velocity spoilers for WWE.com:

Right before Velocity started, Tony Chimmel introduced Stacy Kiebler as the special ring announcer.

The team of Nunzio and Vito defeated Paul London and Spanky (introduced as Brian Kendrick). Nice back and forth match. Nunzio pinned Paul London with the outside help of Vito.

Simon Dean defeated an indy worker in a short match.

In Velocity's main event Chris Benoit defeated William Regal with the Crippler Crossface. Very nice chain-wrestling match. Regal applied several submission moves and gave Benoit a sick suplex on the outside of the ring. Big pop for Benoit.

Friday Night Smackdown:

JBL comes out dressed with a sombrero, Zarape, and a lifesaver; pulling a donkey and with a bottle of tequila. While disrespectful, he looked pretty funny. He talked about how he talked with Rey Mysterio' relatives who unlike him had no green card, and went on and on about illegals. Then, they introduced his tag partner Ken Kennedy who came out to talk to the donkey and calling him Tony Chimmel, told him he had no talent as a ring announcer. Mysterio came out to a new theme song along with his tag partner Hardcore Holly. Good match with Mysterio taking most of the bumps. During the match, Kennedy didn't take headscissors from Mysterio well and fell too late, which didn't look good. I'm sure they'll edit that. Match ended after Kennedy was choking Holly from the outside of the ring and, when he let him go, Holly turned around to receive the Clothesline from Hell.

They announced a match for tonight, Batista and Eddie Guerrero vs. LOD. They show Eddie in the back eating Mexican food, when Batista arrives and tells him he shouldn'tt eat that since he still looked pale from the previous week. Batista ends up taking the food from Eddie and eating it himself.

Melina is shown on the outside of the arena when Christy Hemme arrives riding a Harley. Melina complains about the noise and when she tries to hit Christy, she accidentally hits the helmet and breaks a nail which upsets Melina. That sets up a match between both divas. The Match was an OK Divas match. Christy looks a lot better in the ring. The match ended when Johnny Nitro interfered and Melina pinned Christy. Christy attacked Melina and before MNM (Plain and Peanut) gave Christy the snapshot, LOD hit the ring to make the save. Heidenreich came with the best Papa Shango make-up impersonation I've seen.

A promo announced an upcoming match between the Undertaker and Cowboy Bob Orton. They showed last week's incident where Taker was in the coffin instead of the mannequin. After commercial, Cowboy Bob comes out and cuts a promo on how he doesn't need Randy's interference to defeat the Undertaker. The Undertaker music gets a big pop and out comes the dead man. Just as the match starts, Undertaker shoots Orton towards the corner only to bump the ref. Then Cowboy Bob gives Undertaker a low blow and out came Randy Orton. Both Ortons attacked the Undertaker and briefly revived the ref for a two count. Undertaker came back and pushed Randy Orton when he tried to give him the RKO. Match ended with the Tombstone piledriver on Cowboy Bob Orton and Undertaker picking up the ref by the belt in a very funny spot to revive him and get the three count.

They showed the No Mercy commercial announcing the following matches:

Randy Orton vs. Undertaker
MNM vs. LOD
Rey Mysterio vs. JBL
Eddie Guerrero vs. Batista

Bobby Lashley defeated a local worker. After match ended, Simon Dean came to the ring to offer Lashley one of his drinks and announce another No Mercy match between them. Lashley stepped on his drink spilling it in the ring and beat Dean.

The Ring was set for the Peep Show. Christian asked people in the audience who understood to raise their hand. He cut a promo on how he pinned Chris Benoit and he deserved a U.S. championship match. Booker T (with Sharmell) comes out and cuts a promo on why he deserves a championship match. Out comes Orlando Jordan to say he deserves a championship match to which Christian tells him what he just said took him longer that a match with Chris Benoit. Teddy Long comes out to announce that he is going to let Benoit choose his opponent and to let them prove themselves, a three-way is scheduled right away. Good match with Orlando getting the pin on Booker. Benoit's music hit and out comes the Crippler. He first makes fun of Orlando telling him that he finally won. After teasing a match with each of the three he sets a fatal four way match for No Mercy.

Backstage, they show Teddy Long talking to Palmer Cannon when Vince McMahon arrives in Long's office. He wants to know what the match for Homecoming is going to be. Long says that JBL, Eddie Guerrero, Rey Mysterio, Chris Benoit, Christian and Batista will participate but between him and Vince, they say the match stipulation will be a surprise. The network exec tries to kiss up to Vince to no avail.

In the first main event, LOD faced Eddie Guerrero and Batista. This time, Eddie actually wrestled and got a pop from the crowd. Eddie came out to new music, I guess to set how he doesn't lie, cheat or steal anymore. Match started with Eddie and Heidenreich (with the Papa Shango makeup) wrestling and Eddie giving Heidenreich a low blow. Match was a good back and forth match with no signs of Eddie turning heel. Batista gives Heidenreich the Batista bomb and Animal makes the save. Right then, MNM hit the ring and hit Animal with a chair, followed by Heidenreich. Eddie and Batista fought MNM off, with Batista giving Nitro a spinebuster.

Eddie tried hitting Mercury with a chair but he ducked and gave the chair shot instead to Batista in the back. Before Batista turned around, Eddie threw the chair to Mercury and then pretended to be hit and laid in the ring. Batista rose to give another spinebuster to Mercury. Eddie sold that he had been hit for a while and then both Batista and Guerrero kept raising each other hand.

Teddy Long came out and showed Batista how Eddie actually hit him with the chair and set up an advance of the No Mercy match. First Eddie tried to explain but then hit Batista with the microphone. After a few minutes, Eddie grabbed a chair and walked to the back to lose via countout. Smackdown ended with Batista posing for the crowd for a while.

god damn eddie. what is it with the comedy face act ? next week they better turn him back to being an heel. dont see point of simon dean having a fued with bobby lashey. looking forward to seeing vince and the divas match between christy and melina.

Quote Without WWE SmackDown, UPN's Thursday night lineup scored an extremely low 2.4/4 rating this week. With SmackDown, UPN's scored a 3.7/7 Fast National rating on Friday night, the largest broadcast share for WWE SmackDown! - Thursday or Friday night - in quite some time.

The number was off hours of 3.4 and 4.0, which combined to give UPN a third place finish behind CBS and NBC.

While the preemptions will bring the final number down, this number certainly confirms that pro wrestling fans are not having any trouble finding WWE SmackDown! on its new night.

looks good for smackdown that they didnt even get a rating that often on a thursday but got one in the second week on a friday. bobby lashey continues to impress me with his all round ability. just hope his mic skills dont hold him back. batista still looks good in eddie skits because eddie is a comedy genius. melina versus christy was a slightly above average womens match. all in all i can see why the ratings were good. and in general at the moment both brands are delivering.

I thought RAW was good when SmackDown! decided to brawl with them at the end of the night.

This week will be Piper/Orton's in a Handicap match.

Theodore Long will make an annoucement about adding more matches at No Mercy and of course that he brings Matt Hardy to SmackDown! since he did lose to a Loser Leaves RAW that doesn't mean that he's gone forever because Theodore Long might have something to say about that.

As of right now it won't be a handicap match....it will be a tag match with Piper and Micky teaming......unless something happened after I left Dallas.

Quote Report by: Richard Whittaker

Change of ring, out come Tazz and Cole to a huge pop and here it is..

Smackdown has back to the Erwin Center!

Teddy Long and the Network Guy come out to proclaim Monday’s invasion of Raw a huge success, and that it will happen again. Suddenly, the Orton clan interrupt and point out that they were the first ones to invade Raw, not Long. They demand the ring to themselves and show footage of Piper and Foley getting RKO’d. Cue the pipes… it’s Piper, with a lead pipe, clearing house and saying nothing. Odd.

Booker T (w/Sharmel) def. Orlando Jordan.

Seems somebody is actually remembering what valets are supposed to do, as Sharmel really pumped up the
crowd for Booker. And, on another note, those pyros are hot. I was the far side of the cameras and still felt them from there.

JBL cuts a promo from the lobby, then walks down through the crowd, beating up a Rey Mysterio teddy bear and accusing the Hispanic population of Texas of turning it into North Mexico. He then said that UT would loose the Red River shootout this weekend (note to Mack Brown – give Sam a shot). Now that got heat.

Video promo for Orton/Taker at No Mercy and then it’s Ken Kennedy AGAIN. They must really like this guy. Anyway, he’s guest commentator for our next match, in which Sylvan unconvincingly beat Bob Holly after a mike-shot from
Kennedy, thus setting up Kennedy/Holly at No Mercy. Let’s see of Kennedy can really hang, shall we?

Now it’s backstage, where someone remembers that Rowdy Roddy Piper is best with a mike. A great promo cut on Cowboy Bob, confirming the Ortons versus Piper for later tonight. Video for Raw, video for No Mercy and it’s back to the wrestling.

Road Warriors and Burchill/Regal fight to a No Contest after a run-in by MnM.

Seems that one of the most promising tag teams in years, Burchill and Regal, has become fodder for other people’s feuds.

OK, serious note, Paul Burchill is being kept in a holding pattern. This guy is one of the best British talents in years, up there with former NOAH tag champ Doug Williams. When the WWE finally lets him bust out the C-4 Hotwired, his double exploder suplex, you will be shocked, trust me.

And backstage again, with Eddie saying he has Batista’s back and it’s all cuddly. Meanwhile, back in the ring, the guy with the t-shirt cannon make sen people very happy.

Aaaaaaaaaand back to the ring. It’s Eddie again, saying he has Batista’s back. The place then explodes because The Animal is here. Batista (remember when people said he couldn’t do promos?) accuses Eddie of levelling him with
a chair last week – Eddie is hurt and outraged by the accusation, so Batista sets him a test. In a great moment, he hands Eddie a chair and stands with his back to him. Great theatre. Eddie resists the temptation, but Batista
leaves him with no doubt – stab me in the back and I will hurt you.

Video promo for Rey and JBL this Sunday, video shilling Viva Las Divas (are they still all even working for the WWE on that disc?), Raw rebound (the return of Trips, and Austin stunning everyone. Hey, kids, how horrible will Austin/Hogan be?).

Finally, back to the ring. Orton and Orton (sounds like tax attorneys) take on Rowdy Roddy Piper… and lose! Piper gets the pin after Orton jr high-tails it when he hears the teased tolling of Undertaker’s bell. Yes, takers’ dong
is scarier than Roddy Piper. At this point, Orton and Orton are confronted with half a dozen druids, pulling a casket. Via video, ‘Taker tells them to look in the casket – they do, and see mannequins of themselves. Like the one of Taker from three weeks ago, very lifelike – their fake corpse supplier is a genius.

During their ‘fish out of water’ moment, the Orton’s fail to notice that Taker has appeared out of nowhere. He clears house and stares them down.

Next up, it’s the weekly ‘jobber on Smackdown’ moment as Bobby Lashley creams Eddie Craven while Simon Dean does squats. Very odd. Lashley is a monster and will go far. The pop for the rookie is already huge.

A round-up of the No Mercy matches, and it’s our main event: the postponed 6-man tag team bout from Raw. JBL, Eddie and Christian vs Benoit, Batista and Rey. Yup, three No Mercy matches in one night. Batista finally gets the pin on Christian after a bone-jarring spine buster and an excellent match (although JBL should never stand near Dave – it really shows how flabby he’s got). They continued to tease Eddie’s weird face turn as he is the one who actually turns the match for the faces by putting JBL over the top rope,
leaving Christian unprotected. He then stays around to hug Rey, shake Benoit’s hand and raise Batista’s arm. He then gets jumped by JBL and Christian, leaving Batista to make the save.

That’s it, everyone, except for the unannounced (so many people had left, it wasn’t funny) Orton vs ‘Taker dark match. It’s easy to forget, but Taker is huge, still very good in-ring and had tremendous charisma. He takes the pin
after tombstoning both men, and it’s time for home.

Sidebar: did this week’s invasion of Raw not happen? Teddy and Eddie mention it, but there are no ramifications from Homecoming whatsoever. No invasion, no Matt Hardy, no McMahon, no nothing. Very bizarre. Apart from that, all
very good.

Top Pop
Batista
Taker
Benoit (the man is a warrior in the ring and a general out – he did more to
run the crowd than anyone else. He needs a title shot against Batista and
soon)
T-shirt guy (sorry, folks)
Rey

Top Heat
JBL
Eddie
The Ortons
MnM (although Melina off-sets a lot of that by doing the splits)
Simon Dean (for just not being very interesting)

Top indefinable reactions for those that people were just glad to see Christian.

this guy ended it with the right answers. whats happened to the so called raw versus smackdown fued ? where was vinnie mac to sort out austin ? and why do we have hardcore holly versus ken kennedy made for ppv because of a silly incident on the smackdown just before the event ? i hope its better then it sounds because i aint liking how regal and birchill are being used. they should have the tag team titles before long.

Quote Thanks to Ed Loredo of WrestlingObserver.com:

Velocity
Scotty 2 Hotty b Eddie Craven
Simon Dean b Paul London - London has a new ring outfit. Match was fast paced
Kid Kash b Funaki - Kash looked real good
Bob Holly b Sylvain with a small package. After the match, Sylvain went to do a chair shot but Holly stopped him and gave him the Alabama Slam on the chair

Smackdown

Ortons came out for a promo with Randy challenging Batista for a title match. Eddie Guerrero came out as a babyface. This led to a main event of Guerrero vs. Randy for the No. 1 contender spot

Benoit b Orlando Jordan with a sharpshooter in 5:00. Before the match, Jordan said if he didn't win the title, he would never wrestle again. Sounds like a Russo stip

Super Crazy & Psicosis (super over) b Regal & Burchill when Crazy used a moonsault most likely on Burchill. The Shane Twins hit the ring and beat up the Mexicools

Peep Show with Stacy Keibler. Keibler denied the story in the Star about her feuding with Jennifer Anniston. Jillian Hall came out. Keibler made fun of Hall's face. They ended up fighting and started a new feud

Booker T won a four-way, I guess for a U.S. title shot over JBL, Rey Mysterio and Christian. Rey went for the 619 on Booker, but Sharmell tripped Rey. Booker pinned Rey after an axe kick. They put over the idea that Booker didn't know Sharmell interfered. Said to be really good, fast paced and hot crowd

Benoit and Sharmell argued backstage and Booker didn't know what was going on

Bobby Lashley b Nunzio in a quick squash. There was a spot where Lashley pressed Nunzio and threw him out for Vito to catch. Well, Vito didn't catch him.

Teddy Long and Palmer Canon were talking. Somewhere in here, the Boogey Man showed up. He did a promo that was borderline funny and ridiculous. Long thought he had potential. Well, in 2007 he might.

Guerrero b Randy Orton via DQ. Eddie was on top for the frog splash when Bob threw him off for the DQ. The Ortons were beating on Guerrero when Batista made the uneasy save.

Not sure if this will be TV or not, but appeared to still be on

Long ordered Guerrero & Batista vs. Ortons. Short match with Eddie pinning Bob after a frog splash. They did one miscommunication tease spot with Guerrero & Batista

oh my god the boogeyman is here at last. least he is on the pre recorded brand to edit his matches to make him look better. if we never see orlando wrestle again then im happy. although i dont think it will happen. stacy and and jennifer anniston after the same man. lets get them in the ring together. now thats good tv. and why is birchill laying down to cruiserweights ? come on vince let him do the crazy moves you have banned him from doing.

smackdown seemed poor last week to me. too much talking and not enough fighting. bobby lashley continues to look good. and its good they have brought in the shane twins to help the tag division. looks like they will be fueding with mexicool to begin with. hopefully due to raw edge will make smackdown worth watching this week. maybe he will get involved in matt being on the peep show. and i dont wanna see any midgets on smackdown. no word yet as to if we will see some this week.

It isn't the Shane Twins.....Shane twins are with Deep South Wrestling....The new tag team in SD is Mike and Chad Toland...they are a little bit smaller than the Shane Twins

i dont want to disciminate but i had to laugh at the midgets in teddy longs office. his face was a picture. "lashley" as they no refer to him continues to inpress as always. but he needs to learn not to hurt his oponents. seeing edge was cool. the masterlock on rey looked inpressive with the size difference. and masters clothesline on paul london and spanky (i think) looked bad. bob holly makes sylvain bleed in the hardcore match.good match but bob can get away with anything. eddie saving batista from a chairshot continues to make eddie look face before he turns on batista. ken kennedy main eventing. he aint bad but i reckon its too soon. booker versus benoit was cool and hopefully will go on into the new year. good show and a new champion. very good.

Quote **SPOILERS** WWE SmackDown! Taping Results

Thanks to Dave Meltzer of WrestlingObserver.com

Results from tonight's tapings at the San Francisco Cow Palace

Dark match

Scotty 2 Hotty b Ken Doane using the worm. Doane didn't do anything special, but was on the money with everything.

Velocity
Kid Kash b Paul London after blocking a huracanrana and using a springboard moonsault. This was the best match of the night

Bobby Lashley b Jason ? after the dominator. Post-match, Big Vito & Nunzio attacked Lashley but he laid them both out as well. Nunzio did a great job of selling. Quick match

Sylvan b Funaki with a face first suplex. WWE is hiring models and putting them in the stands to take photos of Sylvan. They had two women at ringside, with identical cameras, jumping up and down like they thought he was hot. Both made it on TV. After the match, both went backstage. They were the only two women in the place who gave a crap about him. Based on numerous catcalls, it is very clear a lot of people in the crowd watched TNA and slow-mo'd one of the segments.

Jillian Hall b Stacy Keibler with her feet on the ropes. Hall wears a Vader mask covering her supposed mole (which would fall off her face in a match so they have to cover and pretend it's there). Very amateurish, largely because of Keibler

Smackdown

It opened with the Peep show, where Mysterio, Hardy, Holly and JBL all came out to campaign for votes for the Taboo Tuesday match. Hardy actually got the biggest pop of all, and it's clear they he wasn't the original plan of who they wanted in the match, but he may wind up being there. JBL had the best line, saying if Masters was any smarter, he'd be a moron. Teddy Long came out and ordered a five-way free-for-all

Mysterio won the five-way pinning Christian with a huracanrana. Crowd popped for a Tower of Doom spot. JBL clotheslined Holly. Hardy gave JBL the twist of fate. Christian gave Hardy the unprettier. Mysterio then pinned Christian. When it was over, Mysterio and Hardy were in the ring together asking for votes.

Backstage, Booker T & Sharmell were in Teddy Long's office. Long showed Booker the footage from his title win last week and Sharmell also interfering the previous week. Booker threw a fit at Sharmell, told her he would defend the title against Chris Benoit tonight and that Sharmell had to apologize to Benoit

Roddy Piper showed up. He was confronted by Bob Orton. Piper told Bob that he wrestled his father who was a tough guy, and a smart guy. He insinuated Bob wasn't so smart. He saw Randy and started talking about reverse evolution, and that he's surprised Randy isn't walking on all fours.

They did a backstage stint where the munchkins played a prank on Simon Dean

Next was a very clever bit of manipulation. Palmer Canon came out. Zero reaction to him. Nobody knows he's a heel. Most people didn't even know who he was. Then they played a big Undertaker video and Taker's music. When it was over and everyone was expecting Undertaker, they turned the cameras on Canon and people booed because Undertaker wasn't there. On TV, it'll come across like Canon is this big over heel. He then put over the juniors division

Short Sleeve Sampson b a blond little guy who looked like Billy Idol. Even though one guy is from New England and the other is from Seattle, they came out to Mexican music, as I guess the idea was using Mexican minis. A guy who looked like Pierrothtito was in the skit earlier in the show. The Billy Idol mini was called something Patterson, like maybe Little Patterson. If this was a joke, the p.a. was so bad that in the one arena in the country where they'd get the joke, nobody understood it. To say this died would be giving it more credit than it's due. There were screams of "This is why Smackdown sucks so bad" going on in between the lack of any crowd reaction to 40 year old comedy bits. Sampson won. Nick Patrick was given a low blow. Simon Dean came out and did some comedy fighting with both little guys. Just hideous attempts at comedy that nobody laughed at, which actually describes about 80% of the humor in WWE.

Booker called out Benoit. He told Benoit that he apologized and was offering him a return match. Benoit's ribs were all wrapped up from the insane tope last week. Benoit accepted the match but didn't care if Booker or Sharmell apologized. Booker told Benoit that he figured that, but Sharmell still had to apologize. Sharmell was totally insincere and she and Booker had a big fight. She ripped on Booker and left. As Benoit was watching her leave, Booker went heel and nailed Benoit with a belt shot and he juiced and was left laying.

MNM won the tag titles in a four-way over LOD, Mexicools and Regal & Birchall. Super Crazy worked most of the match and carried it. Christy Hemme is no longer with LOD, but Juventud still has to act like a valet outside the ring for the Mexicools while holding the useless belt. Heidenreich hot tagged in and you can imagine how bad that was. They set up the doomsday device, but the Tolands pulled Animal off the top and brawled with him. Inside the ring, MNM gave Heidenreich the snapshot and Mercury pinned him to win the title.

They announced Lashley vs. Vito & Nunzio in a handicap match next week. Vito & Nunzio also wanted a tag title match

Batista & Guerrero & Piper b Ortons & Kennedy. Guerrero is full-time face and the low rider ring entrance is back. Piper clearly was given no lead time to get in shape. Batista gave Kennedy and Randy spinebusters. Guerrero gave Kennedy a frog splash. With them laid out, Piper put Bob in the sleeper for the win. Piper was the most popular wrestler on the show.

simon dean is the most popular jobber ever. always on smackdown as comedy value. i like him though. booker t turning heel AGAIN wont work because it didnt last time and he aint been back face long. see the crowd showed displeasure at the midgets. hopefully they wont be around long.

-------------

simon dean being made to look stupid by midgets is pathetic. hes far better then that. booker turning heel was a turnup for the books. but we are all in for a treat with the booker/benoit fued. the main event was poor. i dont wanna see cowboy bob or piper taking up airtime. the 5 man match was cool. the bump christian took being the highlight. smackdown still looks too much like the b show though.

good to see at least one brand is doing something with the tag belts. a huge win for mnm against eddie and batista in a good main event. bischoffs face was priceless when he saw the boogeyman. i reckon they are using fake cheers to try and make him sound more popular on the editted and none live smackdown. smackdown seemed better then raw to me. anyone agree ?

Its official! Smackdown is now my favorite Brand! I love Eddie G, I think Batista is Awesome! and all in all I just love it so much better than RAW now. I love what they've done with it! Mr. Kennedy Rocks! and Chris Benoit! And that little trick RAW did by Getting Edge to trick JBL and company into chasing the RAW superstars in those limos was too funny for words. It was exciting and funny and we need that sometimes  (i'm biased to Edge) ofc  I think hes a super sexy man! w00t! lol anyways as far as MNM .....I love watching them get booed and I absolutely loved watching Molina get frog splashed by Eddie! GO EDDIE I'm not sure what to expect with RAW but mostly lately I'm disappointed but seriously I really look forward to Smackdown so much more.

Quote It is now confirmed that Batista will be dropping the title at this weekend's double RAW/SmackDown! "supershow" tapings. He is needing a short amount of time off and will be dropping the title in the triple-threat match with Randy Orton and Eddie Guerrero.

so come on people. who is getting the title tonight at the raw and smackdown tapings ? i would go with eddie guerrero. either way its going to be good to FINALLY get a new champion. hope batista still comes to the uk this week for the fans who bought a ticket to see him. but cant see it for him resting up. what happened on smackdown this week with teddy long in the masterlock and edge and kane and big show taking out the smackdown locker room was funny. but having lita and kane being friendly after all they have been through is wrong and totally not believeable.

i go with eddie to as part of the whole batista freinship angle. dunno if the wwe have dropped it or if its a realy long angle but eddie is being treated like a face now and his sneeky side been forgotten maybe he will cheat batista out of the belt. orton would be good tho old evolution feud brought back when batistas ready to wrestle again its a pity for him hes much better than cena

Looks like the plan has gone out the window for that one with the sad passing away of Eddie. I agreed that he would be next champ but looks like it will be Orton. Unless they offer it to Benoit as a lure to keep him with the company!!

Well thats 2 out of the 5 for SD's team. Shocking really. I think SD have been doing great at looking a better side than Raw. Lets hope this sad setback doesnt affect them too much!

smackdown did a nice sendoff for eddie too. the matches were of a good standard considering. and batistas speech was moving. chavo beating jbl was expected. has were the wins for rey and benoit. HHH versus benoit was a good match. back to the storylines next week.

Batista vs Orton fight.........OMG are they gonna let Orton get the Belt?! I hate the ones that have others Cheat for them Like Orton and his Daddy,And Booker T and his Wife. I know it's all part of the show but really something or someone better considering Eddie would have Gotten it. There are so many others more worthy..........Just my opinion.

smackdown was cool. loved the big brawl at the end which went off air far too soon. with raw, smackdown and the hatton fight in 6 days hallam fm arena have had a good week. juvi winning back the cruiser title was expected. michael cole more or less admitted that the title change was to make people go to house shows more. expected a better hand for regal and birchill. the dee dars should be ashamed. and if i was on front row and had those bastard security guys in my view id have been fuming. all in all a good show which is the last we will see like that for ages.

I've seen a lot of things in my decades of being a wrestling fan. I've seen the kidnapping of precious, the blinding of Gino Hernandez, and so much more. But what took place last night on the Smackdown special made me literally sick for the first time as a wrestling fan. I was live at the ppv when Owen suffered a tragic fate. But last night surpassed that in the eyes of sickness before me.

NOT EVEN TWO WEEKS have gone by since the passing of Eddie, and what did we get? We got the big show spitting on a low rider that Rey drove to the ring in tribute to Eddie, we got video footage of Rey praying in the locker room asking Eddie to look over him, we got Orton knocking out Taker with a crowbar, and then driving the lowrider back through the Smackdown glass where it busted, the car went on fire, burst into flames and that was it.

I mean what the ************ is this crap? Now Vince is using Eddies passing as a prop for his angles? I've seen some sick things and I THRIVE off of garbage wrestling like FMW and Big Japan. However what I saw last night has for the most part turned me away from tuning into the wwe for many years to come.

The Jim Ross angle I could deal with, Katie Vick not bad, but using a wrestlers death to further an angle and a feud? One person doesn't make a difference but after last night i'll never watch another wwe show for years to come.

after that review i cant wait to see just how sick smackdown is this week. to me that sounds proper horrible.

Overanalyzing the situation as usual. I think this was nothing more than an attempt of the WWe to show that they are over Eddie's death. And we all should move on and treat Eddie like the fallen legend that he is.

No one seems to get too up in arms when Eugene playfully mocks any other fallen legend.

I think it's time we all built a bridge.

Nunca dado.
I do not know much English, so I use website to translate:

what a weird smackdown. boogeyman eating worms was funny as anything. i like cringworthy things like that. and to put some in nunzios mouth was funnier still. orton is made to look bad by being scared of undertaker so much he needs to see a shrink. ffs taker is never there so what is there to be scared of ? putting ANOTHER belt on batista when hes injured is a poor excuse to try and get more buyrates for armegeddon. smackdown needs stars quickly. kid kash versus super crazy was ok. but i aint seen a brilliant cruiserweight match for ages. come on vince let them do what they want.

how good is the best of seven series with beniot and book I think beniot can pull off the great comeback and once again be us champ!

How good is Lashley he should defenetely get a chance to fight Batista and win the title!

Quote Thanks to reader Adam Parker for sending in the following report:

First off the arena was blocked off almost completely on the camera side, I think this will be the last televised event we'll see. Also there were around 2,000 outside waiting to get in while Velocity was being taped. I was one of them so I don’t have Velocity results.

Benoit def. JBL, Orlando, & Hardy. I’m pretty sure there was one or two commercial breaks during this, this match seemed a little sloppy, but maybe that’s because fatal 4 ways are sloppy.

Booker seemed upset, ran into Teddy Long back stage, Long said he either defended it at NWO (with no substitutes) or he forfeits). On Booker's
way out he opened his trunk and it was full of worms (no Boogeyman at the show tonight).

MNM def. Kendrak & London to retain Tag Titles

Melina talked to Hardy back stage, "You scratch my back, I'll scratch yours"

Lashey beat one of the Dicks (I think, can't remember who really). I do remember thinking "squash match" and that’s all it was.

Orton did a promo where he came out in a low rider, Rey then ran out to beat on him.

Backstage segment with the juniors, Ken Kennedy tickled a midget, then some new pirate guy debut.

Juniors match, some guy called the white guy in a full body suite a power ranger” then called the one in a red full body suite “an apple”. Any such way, Finley came out and beat on the midgets, told us he was here to fight… man that guy still seems on top of his game.

Taker def. Mark Henry, when MNM came out, MNM beat on Taker then Angle came out for the save. Teddy Long announced Angle & Taker vs MNM next week.

Dark Match Main Event we saw Teddy announce it was going to be a Fatal 4 Way for the title, but due to Orton's actions.

The crowd was almost absolutely dead, we got pops for Taker, Angle, Benoit, and Rey coming out, but seriously it was almost dead. I hope they do something to make it come across TV better.

so birchill debuts as a pirate and the midgets are back. what a great smackdown this weeks sounds like. hopefully matt hardy will turn heel and join up with melina to make something of himself. if the arena is nothing like being filed then no wonder the crowd was dead. smackdown is dying and something needs to be done to help it out sooner rather then later.

I predict either him, Kurt Angle or Booker T.

Having Angle, Booker, Beniot and Lashley would be good King Of The Ring finalists.

Who do yous think should win this years king of the ring?
I would like to see Lashley or Finlay win it to give them pushes!
Feuds between angle and finlay and lashley and batista would be cool to see a few months down the road!

Posted By: Pac-Man
Date Posted: 09/May/2006 at 22:42
Lashley should not turn heel before getting a title match. It would more likely be Angle.

And, personally, I think Lashley should win "King of the Ring". He's proven to be as talented as his size, as he can throw his weight around really well and execute lots of moves. A better dream match would be Lashley vs. Monty Brown from TNA, and I don't know why he hasn't shown up in a thousand years.

Date Posted: 12/May/2006 at 15:21
yeah that would be a great match to see! ( Lashley v Monty).
I hope Lashley wins too and beats Angle straight up in the final!
Angle could then go heel and feud with Lashley!

Is the first semi-final taking place on smackdown tonight?

If so is it Booker v Angle
or Finlay v Lashley first?

Posted By: Pac-Man

Kurt was unable to compete, so he was forfeited. The final at Judgment Day is Booker T vs. Lashley. Personally, I think the KOTR tourney is a small bit of relief, because the PPV match buildup isn't sports entertainment storytelling, it's actual wrestling.

SMACKDOWN SPOILERS FOR THIS WEEK

Quote Smackdown Results:

The arena was almost completely full with only a few smalls sections closed off behind the camera view. Crowd was hot before the show even started.

Velocity matches

Jamie Noble and Kid Kash (with chains around their necks) defeated Funaki and Scotty 2 Hotty after Kash hit Funaki with the chain.

Orlando Jordan defeated a jobber. I think his name was Clyde Stanley.

Paul Burchill defeated The Road Warrior by DQ. I didn't see the finish because I was buying a t-shirt but that is what the kid next to me said happened.

Mexicools defeated Vito and Nunzio in a really good match. The crowd was quiet until the finishing sequence which got a good response.

Michael Cole and Tazz come out and they switch the set to SD. No pyro. Strange.

Show opens up with Mark Henry saying that he deserves a World title shot and he wants it RIGHT NOW. He says he has decimated the last 3 World champions, Batista, Angle, and Rey. He said if anyone deserves a shot, it's him. Out comes Angle from behind and he hits the Angle Slam on Henry. Loud "Let's Go Angle" chants.

Bobby Lashley defeated William Regal rather quickly with a spear. Cut a promo about how even though he didn't win KOTR, he's still rising straight to the top.

Teddy Long is backstage and said that there will be a match for the #1 contender to the World Heavyweight title tonight and it will be between Mark Henry and Kurt Angle in a Judgment day rematch.

Booker T is in the ring with his robe and crown and his mic didn't work. lol. After a few awkward minutes that will probably be edited, Booker gets on the mic and goes on about how he should be in the #1 contender match because he is the King. He says he doesn't get any respect and things are about to change around here. He was congratulating himself and promised that as King, Smackdown would be changing real soon.

Finlay beat Tatanka via count-out when a midget elf came out and took Tatanka's headgear and ran off with it. Tatanka chased him to the back and allowed Finlay to attack him from behind.

One of the MNM guys walks in London and Kendricks dressing room and they jump up ready to fight. He said he had no beef with them and respected them for beating them fairly. He said he also wants to prove he can be fair and asks for a rematch. They ask who his partner is going to be and he says he'll let them know.

One half of MNM and Matt Hardy defeated London and Kendrick in a non-title match. They shook hands after the match.

JBL is in the ring and says that he has a few things he needs to address. He said that he was watching Raw on Monday and that he couldn't believe that after the ass kicking that ECW took last year that they are coming back for some more. He said on June 11th (nice plug) he would be at ECW ONS again and drink beer and kick ass. He said no one drinks more beer and kicks more ass. This prompted a Stone Cold chants but instead the lights went out and THE SANDMAN ATTACKED HIM! JBL retreats to the back as the ECW music plays.. (no Enter Sandman).

They played a Diva Search promo on the screen that prompted some pretty loud boos. Of course, it will be edited.

Gunner Scott defeated Gregory Helms in a non-title match with a headbutt from the top rope. Boy, they are just burying the champions tonight. Solid match though.

Rey Mysterio is in the back and he walks passed Daivari who is talking to Mark Henry about his title match after he beats Kurt Angle tonight. Both of them were out of Mysterio's view with Henry's back to the camera. They overlook him and when Rey is out of sight of the camera, Henry steps to the side showing Daivari was actually talking to Chavo, who looked shook up.

Khali and Daivari in ring promo. Something about destroying the Undertaker. Promised the Undertaker would never be back after the humiliating loss he took.

Promo for a fatal four way US title match on SD next week between JBL, Finlay, Lashley, and Benoit. I guess this means the number one contender wont be facing Rey for the title next week.

Mark Henry defeated Kurt Angle with the Worlds Strongest Slam after Daivari low-blowed Angle while he had Henry in the Ankle lock. Henry continues to beat Angle down until Mysterio makes the save, allowing Angle to regain his senses and defend himself. Show goes off the air with Henry and Rey staring each other down.

Advertised Dark match was Rey vs Henry for the World Heavyweight title but they had Rey and Angle vs Henry and Khali in a tag match. We left before the match even started.
1. Matt Hardy teaming with i assume Joey Mercury sounds interesting.2. Having all the champions lose on the show doesn't make the champions look good.3. Mark Henry becoming the number one contender for the Heavyweight title is bad news because they will probably put the belt on him.4. Sandman versus JBL at One Night Stand is interesting. I look forward to seeing that segment on Smackdown.5. No doubt the booing will be editted in the Diva Search trailer.

Well, your first point is probably correct seeing as how Melina and Nitro were 'fired' or whatever. Joey Mercury and Matt Hardy taking on London and Kendrick? Could be worth watching. I say that in a hopeful kind of way.

Maybe Ashley comes back managing Joey and Matt. That would be a… semi bad idea, but yeah I can see that happening. At the same time, it's not really bad at all.

Maybe they should send Carlito to Smackdown. I would love to see him spit the apple at JBL. Now THAT would be cool..LOL

-------------

Posted By: Pac-Man
Date Posted: 25/May/2006 at 23:18
When has Carlito spitting an apple not been cool? He probably needs to go to Smackdown, turn heel, then get a title push at either the World or US belts. But unfortunately, from what I hear, they're planning on doing that to Umaga instead.

Posted By: enigma516
Date Posted: 26/May/2006 at 16:33
Umaga is going to end up being the next Mark Henry. Bring him in, let him do some damage, put him in the main event then he disappears until the next time they have 3 stars injured.

Bravo Vince, you did it again..

-------------

Posted By: Pac-Man
Date Posted: 28/May/2006 at 07:18
The big difference, Umaga is much more solid and much less clumsy to the core of a Three 6 Mafia injuring song than Mark Henry is, meaning he will not injure three more Superstars, unlike Henry.

Posted By: Pac-Man
Date Posted: 29/May/2006 at 23:45
On another note, what did you guys enjoy more? JBL getting sent from Smackdown, the Three 6 Mafia concert, or William Regal constantly repeating the words, "Long Live King Booker!"?

Anyone actually ever watch Smackdown to review the action ? Batista has saggy tits now due to wellness and although impressive in beating Mark Henry to a pulp didn't get cheered that much i didn't think. Mexicools fueding is cool because with the juice they are no good. After GAB Super Crazy will probably join ECW. Anyone care about Grenier ? Thought not. The Pitbulls are great to watch but should have had more competition then resident jobbers Scotty Too Hotty and Funaki. Regal was a hoot in the skit with the little bastard humping his leg. Lashley destroying the Cruiserweight champion is bad for business. Wasn't a bad show in general except for the odd little thing like Giant Khali being on the program.

Posted By: Pac-Man
Date Posted: 13/July/2006 at 01:11
Hey, but we finally heard from Undertaker. Looks like it could be the end of Giant Khali. I think Batista did get cheered for very well, quite frankly. (damnit… I said quite frankly… just like Mr. McMahon… damn!) The Mexicools were better as a 3-man faction with Juvi than as a tag team, but their feud doesn't interest me all completely all that much. Lashley destroying the Cruiserweight Champion is to be expected, and at least Helms looked competitive in the match. The King's Court is entertaining, but at the same time, you can't help but want them to die. A perfect heel stable for Smackdown.

Even though it technically still does, and I have to say that Smackdown was starting to get a little better as of last week (even thought that may have rescinded with all the injuries), you got a good point there.

I loved Smackdown this week more then Raw and trust me that doesn't happen much. Main reasons are as follows....

1. Booker and Rey had great chemistry for all to see.
2. Even though in the past few days the show as been cursed you wouldn't have thought so.
3. Kash versus Kendrick was a top match.
4. JBL mentioned outside titles and even made Bobby Lashley sound like a main player. Plus he kept calling Smackdown the best show on cable and the A show etc which is all good.
5. The Mexicool match was good but should have been last night.

I don't like Miz and doing diva search which is shit makes him more hated. I know they only had one show to do it but it should have been built more around Kennedy and Batista's lack of storyline.

Saw this on thesun.co.uk and found it interesting check it out

The situation on Smackdown is now beyond dire.

As well as all the guys listed in our main column as being dropped from the Bash, Matt Hardy and either one or both of The Pitbulls (Kid Kash and Jamie Noble) are now also taking breaks.

Hardy posed the following message on his website: "Simply enough, when Matt was given the standard blood test, they found dormant trace elements of the Staph infection which plagued him many months ago.

"After a light antibiotic treatment and a few weeks off to properly rest, Matt will be back."

The Pitbulls will be off TV for a month and were rumoured to be winning the tag team titles at the Bash, before these 'personal problems' intervened.

A quick look at Wikipedia shows the following stars as being off Smackdown - it's a pretty long list.
  • Where we've put suspended that means they are not wrestling due to a medical test failure rather than an actual injury:

    Chris Benoit - injured
    Mark Henry - injured
JBL - injured, now a commentator
    The Boogeyman - injured
    Paul Burchill - injured
    The Great Khali - suspended
    Matt Hardy - injured
    Hardcore Holly - injured
    The Pitbulls - reason unknown
    Bobby Lashley - injured
    Joey Mercury - suspended
    Super Crazy - suspended
    Tatanka - suspended

This only leaves around 16 active superstars on the roster and they include such greats as Funaki, Scotty 2 Hotty, Sylvan and Vito.

Boy - is that show in trouble!

  • If you add in Raw and ECW then here are the further superstars currently unavailable to management:

    Chris Masters - suspended
    Beth Phoenix - injured
    Victoria - injured
    Kurt Angle - suspended
    Rob Van Dam - suspended
    Terry Funk - injured
    Trinity - injured

The Razor Reports Smackdown Superstar of the Week

    King Booker

Ever since he changed is gimmick from t' to the king he has grown from strengh to strengh. When he was Booker T is gimmick had become stale he was going no where, which was a shame because here we have a talented wrestler who has given everything and has shown great respect and loyalty to he's employeers as well as the business as a whole.

Everytime he comes out he seems to love he's character and he is over with the fans because of it.

Once he is done with Mr Kenerdy I can see a very good feud with Batista. I hope they bring up the "real" fight that the two had because when there is truth behind what people say there is more passion. When there is more pasion we have excellent promos. For exsample Lita-Edge-Hardy, or Flair-Foley or even Joey Styles on Sports Entertainment. When they care the fans care!

King Booker as actually brought some respect back to the dieing brand that is Smackdown. So thats why I give him another title "Smackdown Superstar of the Week!"

    All Hail King Booker!

I didn't mind Smackdown this week. Baring in mind the smaller roster all the rest stuck together and put on a good show. Booker T goes on abit too long but then creative don't have much of a roster to go with. His match with Rey was pointless due to us knowing he wouldn't regain. Be interesting to how Chavo can stay heel next week because whatever his reason is for turning he will get some if not alot of positive reaction. Regal and Finley could have a good heel versus heel fued. And those are the hardest to get over. Kennedy is getting the wins at a price.

Ok i would like to talk about Smackdown but not the last episode. Alot of guys from the roster are injured or been move elsewhere. Everyone agrees fully that the roster is very weak and small at the moment. The recent debuts in the past couple of weeks will not be the end of it. I expect a couple more OVW guys to be called up to freshen the roster. Smackdown could actually do what it says and change the face of friday nights. A good young roster with a mixture of unknown youth of the future. And veterens to put over the younger guys could work well. Sonny Siaki will be called up soon i expect to help the depleted cruiserweight division. And although i don't really like Turkay yet, i do like seeing Elijah Burke as his manager.

    -------------

    Posted By: Shooter420
    Date Posted: 07/August/2006 at 17:50
Burke looks interseting and he seems decent on the mic so far. Turkey well we'll see what happens with him. I'm not too sold on his look yet I guess.  Hardy Boyz will be back soon I'm guessing but I hope they don't keep them together too long I like Jeff by himself. They need a draft bad.

    Posted By: Pac-Man
    Date Posted: 08/August/2006 at 22:44
I want to see the Hardy Boyz together as a tag team with their individual personas still intact. They'd look really good feuding against Turkay and Burke.

Speaking of those two, I'm sold on their in-ring abilities being good, although I'm not gonna judge them as awesome just yet. And based on both men's legit successes, I say that if Burke continues to be the mouthpiece of the duo, they could be a really great tag team.

Also, Razor is absolutely right about the King Booker deal. I love watching King Booker now because his gimmick is so funny, yet at the same time to serious. Now, he was able to keep it like that under the normal Booker T gimmick, but the whole "King of the World" transformation deal to it just added that extra royal spice, y'know? Therefore, I have to commend Booker T. Huffman on his ever-so-hilarious proclamation to defend as our King of the World against any and all peasants!

    -------------

    Posted By: Shooter420
    Date Posted: 08/August/2006 at 22:59

Booker has really steped up his game recently and deserves to hold that title longer than Summerslam. I kind of wish they would've kept his kings court team together longer though as it gave him "servants" to do his dirty work.

I've never been a huge Matt fan that is my reasoning behind wanting Jeff alone as I think Matt holds him down abit when they are teaming. I truely beleive that if Jeff keeps his shit together he can/will be a huge star. Watch the ladder match with taker and listen to the crowd it was so loud for Jeff it was amazing.

    Posted By: Pac-Man
    Date Posted: 08/August/2006 at 23:44
I remember that ladder match almost like it was yesterday. A Undertaker heel turn and new Ministry, with Jeff to lead Matt and some people to feud against them, would be one of the best ideas Smackdown could get at the moment.

I might feel compeled to actually watch a whole show if they started something like that or maybe have Jeff and Matt tag for a while and have them lose a few title matches and do the spilt the way it should've been done a few years ago.

Right i thought i would talk about last weeks Smackdown. Batista yet again fucked up a move on Booker when it took him two attempts to put him through the table. Come on Vince don't put the belt back on him because he is a clumsy fuck. Why is the match taking place on Smackdown as well ? By the time we get to No Mercy (which is the only place the title will change hands anyway) we will have seen enough of these two in the ring together already (some of us already have). We saw a dull ass match between Tatanka and Miz that went on too long. I saw nothing in either guy worth watching....Mr Kennedy is the US champion and that is great news because he is the man to have the belt. On the whole i wasn't that impressed with the show.
