So everyone probably knows Jake Hager (Jack Swagger) signed for Bellator about a year ago and he made his debut last night.

He was very impressive in the cage but i have been more impressed from what i have seen of him out of the cage.

His interviews on youtube etc are fantastic and you can tell he is humble, knows he has alot of work to do, he isnt scared of getting hurt along the way.

His amateur wrestling background should stand him in good stead and from what ive seen online, alot of current MMA and wrestling stars believes he belongs in MMA.

Hope to see him do well

I think most people knew he was a legit grappler when he was in WWE, what he lacked for WWE was personality. In MMA that's no where near as important as being a good fighter, and Hager's got swagger. (see what I did there?)

Popped seeing him do the "We the people" thing after he won. haha

haha hes done the "We The People" at every press conference and that too - he seems to have more personality in MMA than in WWE - perhaps that was down to how he was booked?

Nah, I think the personality he has just stands out more in the MMA world because they don't focus on entertainment and just sports. Reigns is another guy that when you take out of the world of sports entertainment you see has a load of charisma and personality, but obviously in WWE he just gets outshined.

Also, I think it's worth pointing out that the commentators were talking about Jake's height making a real difference in the fight. Something Vince McMahon frequently gets blasted for taking into account with so many of his major stars. The height adds to the weight and height and weight in a fight DO matter. When everything else is the same the guy with height and weight on his side is the guy that wins.

He did a good job in the fight he's done things smart by not going straight into the big leagues and I wish him well in his future in Mixed Martial Arts.

On a totally different note, I kept wondering why every time I read Jake Hager's name I kept thinking "valor morghulis" and now I realize why, because every time I read his name I read it as Jaqen "H'Ghar the faceless man of Game of Thrones.

It would be pretty funny/cool to see him respond to a question by instead of saying "I don't think blah blah blah" he said "A man does not blah blah blah."
