Welcome to the forums, 4ofem. Sounds like from some of your other posts you might be a real old school fan, if mentioning a Ric Flair face turn from his Ricky Steamboat / Terry Funk era is anything to go on.

How long have you been watching?

What are some of your favorite moments in wrestling?

Yes, been a fan since the early 80’s. Back when Johnny Weaver, Paul Jones , Jay Youngblood and Sam Houston were in the Mid Atlantic area and the Crockett’s were to me the best. Bob Caudill announcing. Saw a lot of crazy things in my years. Even when Boogie Woogie Man Jimmy Valiant was under a mask as Charlie Brown haha.

Welcome pal. Kondor will be your number 1 fan when he sees this thread, as he's been wanting more old school fans here for ages.

To find out more of the important things about you.......

1) What's your favourite pay per view of all time?

2) Do you watch wrestling outside of WWE or E as I generally shorten it to on her?

3) When you eat toast, what do you like to put on it?

Favorite wrestling moments had to be Starracde 83 A Flair For The Gold, as a kid I was completely mismerized by the Great Kabuki. There was a dude with Tommy Rich and Ted DeBisae during the Georgia Championship Wrestling days that was quite good. Rich had “left town” and a wrestler by the name of Mr R came to town , of course it was Rich but in a match between Ted and Mr R the mask of R got taken off and it was Brad Armstrong with Tommy Rich standing beside Gordon Solie smiling and waving and Brad rolls up Ted for the win. Classic good guy bad guy match. Watching Dusty Rhodes as the Midnight Rider and of course the rise of the attitude era. How about you ?

Haha, well my favorite pay per view would have to be Starrcade 83. I do watch a little of ROH and some of the local guys. Put on toast ? Nah , we will just leave that one as a mystery lol

It's great to be able to look back on stuff from so far back through the Network.

Welcome once again and if you know any other wrestling fans please do tell them about here, to spread the word.

My first event I saw was WM3 on PPV when my older brothers and their friends watched it at our house. I didn't really start watching heavily until 1992.

Love that there's someone new here that's been watching longer than I have.

Thanks , been a wrestling fan for many years. Now my son is into it hot and heavy. Gotta carry on the tradition.

Yeah I started watching again when I showed my oldest two Gremlins 2, and they asked who that guy with the yellow mustache was that scared the Gremlins into behaving was. That was about the time I heard Hogan and Hart were going to be on TV on opposite shows on Monday Night and fans were speculating about a new Monday Night Wars breaking out. So I tuned in to see Bret Hart on Raw and Hogan on TNA, and I was switching back and forth, but eventually I just stopped watching TNA because WWE had the better storylines going on between Hitman & Vince and Hitman & Shawn.

I kept watching each week, mostly just had it on TV while I played on my phone or something like that, but eventually I came to really like this new US Heavyweight Champion who just got his face on the cover of WWE Magazine and came out to the ring and threw all the hate he had received over the years in the fans faces. I actually knew of Mike Mizanin from The Real World, but not about anything he had done to get into the WWE, so his promo was really engaging for me, and from that I had finally found a new guy (new as of 2005 when I had watched previously) I was willing to say I was a fan of. To this day he's still one of my very favorites.

As for my kids though, my oldest son liked it for a while, but then decided he doesn't like it at all anymore. My daughter has always been mildly interested, but never a big enough of a fan to want to watch it on her own or anything like that, but if she's bored, and I have it on, she'll watch with me. My youngest is 8 (my oldest is 13 now, and my daughter is 15) and he seems like he might be the one that will actually become a big fan of wrestling. He's always engaged and asking questions and talking about it, even if his attention span for it is pretty low (not surprising considering his age, though).

Aye, it is absolutely awesome to have another old school fan here again. Thumbs Up Adders is right that we've been longing for more old school fans for some time. I can't tell you how many times I mention something from the 70's and people are like ............

Welcome, 4 (can we call you 4 for short, lol). I see my name was brought up a couple times in this thread already but I'm Kondor, moderator and old school fan. I can appreciate wrestling from any period of time; but probably the period from the early 70's to about 2004 are my favorite times. But I am mostly a WWF fan.

From reading what you wrote in this thread as well as the "Top 10 Face Turns" thread I like your posts so far. I really hope to see you around a lot.

That's awesome you met Undertaker and Kane.

Aye, when I think of that Starrcade I think of one match that sticks out, the dog collar match (I'm a massive Greg Valentine fan.)

Thanks Kondor , thanks #Heel. Yeah I’ve enjoyed the site so far and meeting whom I’ve met. Looking forward to chewing a bit of the fat with everyone and talking some wrestling , just some good ole wrestling. Kondor , totally agree on the dog collar match with Greg and Roddy. You really don’t see those types of matches anymore. I will go a bit further on matches you don’t see and throw this one out. Remember Night of The Skywalkers ? The Road Warriors and the Midnight Express. Wrestling on a scaffold , never would have thought it but Crockett Promotions sure put it together. Let me ask ya , do you remember the Hollywood Blondes ? I’m not talking Austin and Pillman , let’s go back to the ICW days of Hustler Rip Rogers. I would have loved to seen that group against the Freebirds, and not the Jimmy Garvin version. So anyways , threw a few names out from the past to maybe jar a memory up.
