Well after 746 miles of driving today we're a bit over halfway to the in-laws house. We are staying at my wife's double-step sister's house in Portland OR, and I am beat. It sure is nice to have the wife back into good enough health to be able to not only go on these long 1200 mile road trips, but to be able to drive a good portion of the distance as well.

Weather is good here in Portland, only in the upper 80s instead of around the century mark at our house. Once we get north of Seattle close to the Canadian border it's going to be a lot cooler still. Also the sun won't go down until nearly 11pm which is weird for us Californians who live so far south.

Tomorrow while the wife drives back to her childhood home I'll be watching NXT. I heard Asuka vs Nikki Cross was really good. Damn I love 4G. I set up the wifi hotspot on my phone and my kids were streaming YouTube and Netflix most of the trip today. So peaceful not listening to them fight for once.

746 miles of driving? My god, that sounds brutal. Not to mention the sun going down close to 11 pm, which to anyone else just sounds crazy.

I just got around to watching Asuka vs Nikki Cross earlier today. It was a fantastic match, and they should be very proud of themselves for the match they put on (on a weekly episode, might I add).

Now, the only problem is the build up for Ember to take the title. Because if they're going to half-ass it like they've done with most of her NXT run, then shit, we're in for quite the underwhelming title win after all this with Nikki. At this point, I feel that Nikki deserves to be the one to dethrone Asuka much much more than Ember. Ember's only selling point is her comeback from her injury. But Nikki's willingness and ability to put in a different level of work needs to be looked at here.

We are now clear up near the Canadian border. We went out and picked cherries and blueberries for dessert at 10pm and then watched a firework show across the sound put on by the Indian Casino. Sunny with a high in the mid-70s just the way I like it. Haha

Well we are finally back home again. We went 1,000 miles the last day (988 to be exact) and I drove 700 of them. On the plus side I got to watch Great Balls of Fire on my phone the rest of the way home. It took us just under 15 hours of driving with only 1 legit stop for lunch, the rest was all gas and go or bathroom breaks.

Definitely was nice to get away from the normal grind for about 10 days, but it's nice to be back and sleeping in my own bed again.

Dune buggies, swimming, boating, spelunking, hiking amongst a bunch of weird ass trees. Been a fun vacation so far, and we still got 3 more days.

Family vacay 2018 has been aot of fun.
