So dads boss is a Blunts fan who's got a corporate box for the upcoming season who's been kind enough to give my dad, me and my mate a chance to try it for the 19th August local derby there.

Should be fun as apparently the boss will be the only home fan in the box and the other nine of us enjoying a three course meal, complimentary programme, team sheet, bar etc will be away fans LOL

You get a padded seat on the balcony of your box. That could be interesting should we score and nine of us stand up cheering when home fans are only yards away LOL

Could also turn a bit nasty LOL

We've lost out on signing Matty Green as Lincoln could offer a better pay packet. Flynny still wants 5 new faces and hopes to get them signed and sealed soon.

LOL Yeah they might be some kind of rules for safety. Looked on the Blunts official shite and it looks like a ten person box with three course has gone up around 3 grand with promotion.

Not surprised you got outbid by Lincoln. It's a fairly well off good size city who are more than capable of selling out their ground regularly even at division four level.

Wouldn't have you down to struggle again this season. Take it from us the last few seasons that if you finish a season on a high there is every chance you will take that happiness and positivity into the following season.

I don't think we'll struggle if we can get a goalscorer in. I will be happy with a mid-table finish this season then build from there. We've now got the right man in charge and with the right blend of players all will be good.

Every team wants a scorer they are hard to find. Even been reports of Man City and Arsenal doing a straight swap between Aguero and Sanchez.

Jermain Defoe has only scored 5 in his last 22 matches. He's 35 I think in October and just played his part in a relegation. Yet clubs are put off by him wanting a 8 million quid signing on fee and a three year contract that would put his total package for someone that would then by 38 to TWENTY MILLION!!!

Then you have Andre Gray. Playing for a low third premiership club Burnley, only just cracked double figures for goals in his first ever top flight season and he won't sign a new contract because he wants 100,000 a week to quadruple his wage.

Football has been shit for years. Love Barnsley, hate Football has been my motto ages now. Couldn't even get upset at our under 21s being shit yesterday.

Well we signed some kid from non league and Frank Nouble...now he's not going to put the ball in the back of the net on a regular basis, but I trust Flynn to pull something out the bag.

Nouble was shocking for us on loan from the Hammers. Surprised that Ipswich bothered to get him but at your level with his higher league experience he might do well.

We got Zeki Fryers a full back released by Crystal Palace on saturday and yesterday brought back also on a free transfer Lloyd Isgrove who got us promoted from league one.

Both three contracts. All seven brought in so far are three year deals to protect ourselves. Probably still need another half a dozen players but a couple of strikers are high priority.

Not sure if Isgrove has it in him for the Championship level to be honest. Fryers has been about a bit for such a young lad too LOL plus haven't you lost your captain to Brum?

Fair to say not many of our fans are going to pay 49 quid to sit in a badly decaying unsafe stand that fook knows how it passes safety tests.

Said it before but if another disaster happened in that same stand it wouldn't be a shock and if you've a partner and few kids wanting to go you're paying a few hundred quid for a family night out.

When you can get to any premiership game as an away fan for a max of 30 quid it tells the story.

More crazy money being thrown about, Walker to Man City for £50m is just crazy.....then you see Sunderland signing McGeady, who in fairness should do well again at that level and James Vaughan, who isn't going to help them!

On the Newport front, I am concerned we've not signed any more players yet, we probably still need 4 or 5, we need at least 2 defenders, a central midfielder and a striker...maybe Flynny will play the loan market.

Ike Ugbo on a season long loan (until he bangs them in, gets called back and sent to a bigger club like Izzy Brown sent back from Rotherham to Huddersfield) is a good one with a lot of their fans online saying he's better than Abraham, Solanke and Loftus Cheek.

You need 2 for each position so now we need two strikers (hopefully loan Ashley Fletcher for one), a winger, a left back and we should be ready to go.

Can always use the loan market to the end of August if needs must.

Ike Ugbo scored two good goals at Rochdale the other night, from what I could see on the You Tube video footage.

We still need another winger and a couple of strikers and time is running out with only Rotherham away on saturday before the season starts.

Would have liked Ashley Fletcher back on loan but apparently he's worth seven million quid Shocked

After losing 4-0 to four second half goals to lower league Rotherham United at the weekend, in front of 1,500 away fans at a friendly, Hecky was outspoken and many of our fans wonder he might get shut of for being so outspoken towards the board.

He wanted 4-5 gained two but lost Roberts to Birmingham so we still need 4-5 and we now have no pre season friendlies to give them game time because the board are dithering with bringing in transfer targets.

Hopefully it will be a busy week and apparently French media are reporting we are interested in a Senegal striker at Djion for a million.

I'm expecting the worst again as we still haven't really got a proven goalscorer in the squad. I don't think we'll struggle as badly as we did last season but it'll be close again at this rate....though Lemar Reynolds who came through Vardy's academy looks splendid.

Neymar fee is obscene. It could cost over 5 years around half a billion, which is more than Tottenham are paying to get a brand new stadium that's going to last them for years.

Over half a million a week AFTER TAX and his dad getting thirty odd million as a loyalty payment, it's crazy.

It is though quite funny that Spanish clubs put in massive release clauses thinking nobody will ever dare to match it and then end up whinging when they do.

Yeah taking UEFA & FIFA over FFP.....meanwhile Man City have spent over £200m themselves without a hint of someone bitching about FFP.

PSG will no doubt need to sell a couple of players once this deal is done, but i'm sure they'll have no issue in doing that.

As in the past few seasons because you can't expect a 100% success rate, some will be rubbish and the good ones will be sold for millions as soon as the vultures come looking.

Yesterday we had missing Sessi D'Amedia, Stevie Malan, Liam Lindsay, Lloyd Isgrove and Zeki Fryers from a squad that still needs another 4-5 signings before the end of the month.

Lindsay will partner new club captain Angus Mcdonald in central defence. With him injured we expected Ethan Pinnock from Forest Green Rovers who apparently cost us a pretty penny by our standards to partner him. Instead he put in Adam Jackson who many thought would be 4th choice centre half this season.

We played Alex Mowatt and Brad Potts out of position on the wings whilst two wingers Adam Hammill and Ryan Hedges who came on to score were both on the bench.

We need two strikers but needing to get back into the game in the second half he took off one of the only strikers we have.

The team yesterday looks a lot different to the one that will play come September, Hecky had a number of baffling tactics and the board need to back him with the millions they have made.

On a seperate note William Hills from midday for a max of 20 quid at bumping BTTS in the Community Shield to evens so that should double your stake.

We came back from 3-1 down to grab a 3-3 draw at Stevenage....best result of the day was Yeovil going 1 up at Luton then loosing 8-2 LOL

I had nearly 50 quid of free bets to use for Sky Bet as they gave fiver per week through the off season to give you all in one go and so at 40/1 I put a tenner on West Ham to finish top half, Peterborough United to make the play offs and Chesterfield to make top 7.

Won't be going tomorrow night home to Morecambe as I don't have interest in them and will be in Blackpool in three weeks time for round 2 so unless we get through and draw away to Blackpool, Fleetwood and possibly Bolton there is no chance to go.

We are 8/15 to win which doesn't happen often LOL I suspect Hedges and Hammill will be brought in for the wings and Hecky says 3 or 4 signings are really close so maybe someone will sign tomorrow morning in time to register to play at night.

We got put in the north side of the league cup draw as we can't play at home at the moment as we're getting a new pitch, and Wet Spam can't play at home yet due to the athletics...I was hoping for a Barnsley draw...so who do we get? Leeds of all sodding teams.

So the Blunts last saturday we could have lost 4-0. Took advantage of the free booze in the box and then went to the Blunts owners bar a few minutes from the ground for more free booze which ended with getting home saturday tea very ill and sunday being a write off and not feeling totally myself till about wednesday. Arguably the worse I have ever felt drinking and not something I want to experience again LOL

Chien Lee has tried to buy a number of clubs and now the Chinese billionaire and his American investor are in advanced talks to buy us. They bought 80% of Nice, got them Barotelli, Scyneder and champions league football, so they look good people. He owns a few thousand hotels in the orient.

Today we are home to Sunderland they are bringing 4,000 fans. Upto the Blunts game it had been BTTS in every match this season. Our new guy Mamadou Thiam came off the bench last week for his debut and I expect him to start today. Cameron Mcgeehan is likely to get his first game time since getting booked for disent when he got his leg broke for Luton Town in January.

Nouble finally found his level LOL BBC Radio Dee Dar full of Chesterfield fans manager under pressure already being bottom of all four divisions after just being relegated.

Yeah they dominated posession and chances and we scored and then again and again. Goals win football matches. Nothing else matters but scoring more than your opponents.

Ike Ugbo from Chelsea youth team on loan, Harvey Barnes from Leicester City youth team on loan and George Moncur from Colchester United who barely played for us last season with the goals.

William Hills shop offer number 6 today at least two goals in all 14 7:45 kick offs in Tin Pot Trophy I have had a flutter at 20/1 LOL They had a 22/1 offer on two goals in all 13 league one games last saturday afternoon. Let down by a bastard 0-0 so called derby between Rochdale and Bury to end with 12/13 up.

Baz I laughed reading your manager saying Nouble should have had a double hat trick, like his goal of the weekend screamer in a hat trick wasn't enough LOL

Saw Nouble slagging off Chesterfield too saying how good it was to score against them when they messed him about in the summer trying to sign him.

So the bet I mentioned yesterday I ended up with 14/15 Cry One goal short in the Blackburn vs Stoke Under 23s game the bastards.

Transfer window shuts tomorrow. Expecting to finally see Mcburnie finally in on loan from Swansea. Been waiting all summer for it but they have had injured strikers so it's been delayed. Trying also to bring in a central midfielder who's more experienced than our usual signings. Been linked to Gary Gardener at Aston Villa but we are unwilling to pay all his 13k a week wages on loan when our current top earner whoever it is will probably be on around half that at best.

Suspect some who haven't got a look in so far will go out on loan. Alex Mowatt is the obvious one he's one of our many midfielders seeing little game time, who has even less chance after the international break now Cameron Mcgeehan is just about back. I'd like to see our academy midfielder Jared Bird sent to a league club on loan for midfield experience too.

-------------

Date Posted: 30/August/2017 at 17:16
McBurnie played for us last year too haha! Nice to see he's stepping up a few levels. Josh Sheehan deserves a crack at a higher level too, but he's probably 3 months away from being fit.

Penistone Church reached FA Cup 1st qualifying for the first time ever and beat Whitby Town at home 3-2 who are a bigger side with a last minute winner to reach round 2.

They had ten men to come from behind twice to nick it awesome performance.

With no proper football today 496 watched them @pcfc1906 to get their football fix so it's a good payday at six quid adults and 3 quid concessions on top of programme, food, drink ect.

First goal keeper howler with our defender. Second goal a penalty when it shouldn't have been as our defender Adam Jackson played the ball. Third goal sloppy marking. Poor display with it being our 130th anniversary game, celebrating our terminally ill owner who was in the stand Patrick Cryne and nobody making themselves a cert to start at Oakwell South on tuesday night.

John Terry is 36 and played his third 90 minutes in a week. So do we play it on the floor and have our pacey players speed past his aching and ageing bones and limbs? No we played everything near him up in the air and he didn't lose an header all afternoon which should come as a surprise to nobody because on the field (not so much off it) he's a class act still.

Weird that Billy Beane got played by Brad Pitt in 2011 movie Moneyball and is expected to be on our new board when Chinese billionaire Chien Lee buys the club shortly.

Great to see Stefan Payne still banging them in for Shrewsbury Town. Rather they got promoted than same old yoyo teams with much bigger budgets like Wigan Athletic for example.

Worth a mention for Scarborough Athletic. The rebirth football club of my favourite seaside resort are in the 4th FA Cup qualifying round in a few weeks home to Hyde United (Manchester for those shit at Geography). Could be in the first round proper.

The biggest non league side in Barnsley are also in the 4th and final round Shaw Lane Aquaforce who play Barrow two leagues above them but struggling so can be beat.

Sky Bet offering 2/1 on both teams in the England and ROI games to get 10+ booking points.

10 points for a yellow and 25 for a red so all it needs is 1 booking per team and that's not asking alot.

Depends on how fussy refs are in friendlies but it still looks a cracking bet to me.

Some sublime acting in the Wales U21's vs Romania U21's game. One of the Romanian players rolled about 10 yards off the pitch after being fouled, another did a sublime dive...got himself booked..then sent off as it was a second booking....then their other striker got rugby tackles, elbowed the Welsh player to get him off, then put his head to the same player infront of the ref...naturally got sent off haha, what a last 10 mins that was.

Surprised the friendly had bookings for me but the intensity of a qualifier didn't.

No surprise Wales finally scored when they got on a couple of the Super Reds, including our 4th choice winger LOL

Speaking of our wingers our best one Harvey Barnes of Leicester City scored again today as England under 20s lost 2-1 to Germany. The goal is in Twitter tweets if you search his name and was top corner again.

Yeah he did alright. This season though he sucks for Norwich and their fans slag him off.

But when he's probably on around 15k a week with one contract that sets him up for life, he won't care.

I am worried about Sunderland being linked heavily to Paul Heckingbottom so it could be a long day Cry
