So guess who just got shown at the Takeover event tonight? Seems like a pretty damned good chance Roode has already signed with the wwe.

Have yet to see anything official, obviously but I doubt they would have shown him without first making sure he wasn't going to do the same thing James Storm did.

Crazy good night at Takeover already, Roode in NXT is just icing on the cake at this point.

Loved his championship coronation promo on this weeks NXT, top heel stuff. They seem to be doing a worked injury angle with Nakamura to likely allow him to return in time to face Roode at the pre-Wrestlemania Takeover event.

It's surely a matter of time before Roode heads to the main roster though, he's completely owning this Glorious gimmick which to be fair is just his TNA character with a lot of WWE gloss. It's almost a waste of his talents keeping him down in NXT.

Thought his promo was basic heel shit running down those who failed to do in the past what he has.

Where were the women? The baloons from the ceiling? Fancy chair in the ring to sit on?

For a glorious celebration the ring and what happened all screamed 'token promo'.

I'm a bit disappointed that he didn't lose the title match and then debut at the Rumble, as I would love to see him on Raw ASAP before Jericho wraps up his current WWE run. If however Jericho is going to be turning face to feud with Owens at Mania, then perhaps after mania, Roode can debut then and have a program with Jericho at that point in time. Jericho vs Roode under these current gimmicks has to happen.

That said, Roode is gonna be a great champion, and I was happy for him when he won.

I just finished watching this last weeks episode of NXT now, and I was hoping we'd see who his next opponent would be, but I guess there's no real hurry as their next major event isn't until April.

Roode, Jericho, and The Miz are the only guys I'm even still watching WWE for these days.

Have Roode as the big post-Wrestlemania debut, that way it allows him to drop the NXT title back to Nakamura at the next Takeover then head to Raw or Smackdown. This guy is far too good to be down in the developmental league for too long.

I just love listening to Roode cut a promo. He gets cheers and is universally loved when he shows up, and then he starts talking and people love him, then little by little he turns them away so thoroughly they can't wait to see him get his ass kicked. I can't wait to see him on the main roster, but this new feud is perfect!

Great feud as Roode will make Hideo Itami look like a star, Hideo needs a good run in NXT injury free before WWE make any big future plans for him. I can see Itami winning the title though allowing Roode to transition to the main roster which is where he needs to be.

From what I have heard, which admittedly isn't a whole lot, it sounds like Hideo has pretty intensively worked on becoming fluent in English while he was on the shelf. His English is vastly superior to Nakamura's and Asukas. Now, keep in mind I heard all of two sentences out of him 6 month ago before he was reinjured, but he sounded almost fluent with none of the shit in his mouth Nakamura always seems to have. It was clear, precise, and maybe a little halting, maybe, but it WAS just a couple sentences prerecorded at that. However it stands to reason that if he can't do much else physically that he would have spent more time perfecting his promo, and not only that but he has been around a year and a half longer than Nakamura and has a full year on Asuka.

Itami was also supposed to transition to the main roster 2 years ago after taking part in the first Andre the Giant Memorial Battle Royal and stealing the show at the NXT Takeover event that wasn't filmed and aired on the network.

It seems that having him start at the top with Bobby Roode, WWE means business with Itami. My guess is Itami may very well head up to the main roster before Roode.

Whichever turns out to be the case, this feud should be the main event of the May Takeover event. And I can't wait to see how they work together in the ring and on the mic.

This feud is more than likely a 1 and done deal. The Takeover before Summerslam will probably be Bobby vs Drew or Ohno or even Adam Cole if he debuts by then. I read some where that Kyle O'reilly has Triple H's interests as well.

It depends on what kind of interest Itami can generate I assume. If the two knock it out of the park, and the fans are left demanding more, I could see this going further (however that certainly wasn't the case with Joe vs Owens). However with Roode as a heel and it appears Galloway is a baby(?) then it would seem likely it would be Galloway as the next champion. Itami likely only needs to jump through the hoops, and has no learning left to do and so won't be around in NXT much longer.

Is Galloway usually a babyface? I thought he typically was more comfortable as a heel. I'm kind of surprised he has debuted as a face, but maybe that's just because I don't know enough about him.

Well Meltzer and Alvarez already claim that Itami is a one off and will probably be back in the main event scene at a later time. They're playing catch up with itami because of his injuries. He is still very over with the crowd and Triple H is jumping on that while everyone else is built up. Itami is in a #1 contenders match against Roderick Strong next week, but WWE already openly spoiled that before the match was taped.

I think Itami is now one long term injury away from being written off. He's missed what the biggest part of two years due to injuries?  Must be tough for him but you do have to wonder when they'll cut their losses...but that's for another thread ha.

The first time was unfortunate for Itami, the second injury was clearly the other jackasses fault. I seriously doubt anyone would fault Stone Cold Steve Austin for Owen Hart's fuckup, so they shouldn't be faulting Itami for green jobber's fuckup. If he were to take a clean bump and then get injured, then, ok, fair enough.
