Sounds like CM Punk is getting closer. If he was taking it seriously from the very start, he's certainly stepped it up quite a bit since then.

He mentioned that they're taping the training experience and that Fox will be airing a few episodes of his 'journey' at some point in time so that should be interesting to see.

Win/lose/draw I am still just as interested now in his UFC debut as I was when he first announced his signing.

Apparently leaving the WWE hasn't made CM Punk immune to the plague of injuries wrestlers have been suffering lately.

Quote * WWE Superstar Ryback recently went on Twitter and poked fun at CM Punk's latest injury. As Andy reported here on eWrestlingNews.com, Punk underwent surgery on Thursday to fix a herniated disc in his back, which will set his UFC debut back a bit more.

Ryback, who Punk accused of hurting him in a match during his WWE run, took to Twitter to comment. The WWE star referenced a conversation Punk said they had where Punk asked, “Either you’re doing it on purpose and you suck or you’re dumb as f–k, which is it?,” and Ryback replied sadly, “I’m dumb as f*ck”:

Good for Ryback, can't blame him for poking a bit of fun after Punk viciously attacked him in his whiney rants against WWE. Seems just one thing after another to delay Punks UFC debut and it's now reaching the point where people will be questioning if it will ever actually happen.

At this point, Punk is 38 and has to have back surgery. Not much point getting into the ufc now is there?

I guess the time for CM Punk to wash out of the UFC has come. Don't know who Michael Gall is, but my money is on him. :P

That fight is dependent upon Punk being able to get through the next 3 months without getting injured. That's going to be a bigger challenge than the fight.

As a CM Punk fan, I fully admit that I expect him to get his ass kicked. I just hope that after that, he gets his head straight & gets back into WWE for another run. There's a whole new batch of guys there now that Punk could have great promos & matches with.

I agree completely, but I also seriously doubt he'll ever swallow his pride enough to return. It would be so great to have him back, because love him or hate him, he made for GREAT television, and I would love to see him in a feud with Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Kevin Owens, and Shinsuke Nakamura, as well as Hideo Itami if he ever returns.

Ultimately though, he needs to worry about himself, and if he's not going to be happy in the WWE, then it's just not worth it. It would be great for the fans though.

Well now that his UFC embarrassment is over, I wonder what he will be doing next?

I didn't see the fight but I hear he did do a lot better. Supposedly he just got gassed by a younger guy with more stamina. I hope he didn't cry in the after interview.

He got absolutely destroyed.

I think he landed a couple of shots but his defence was so bad - dont think Jackson threw a shot that didnt land and cause damage.

He had to go to hospital straight after the fight so didnt do any media but Dana said in his presser that Punk is done in UFC.

1 thing that was very different this time is that the crowd were right behind him and the CM Punk chants were very very loud

Hype job finally over as people see him for what he is after another loss and another trip to the hospital.

I want my wrestling main eventers to be seen as guys who'd batter others in legit fights. The MMA career of Phillip shows all his moaning about main eventing Wrestlemania wasn't at all justifed.

Best MMA payday he could hope for now would be to head over here to Belator and fight former Geordie Shore reality tv dude Aaron Chalmers.
