Must admit while he’s a great fit for NXT it’s difficult to see where he would slot in on the main roster aside from maybe 205 Live.

He has that retro look too - I’d love to see him bring back the hardcore title or European title and give it the same prestige Miz has with the IC title

I could imagine him becoming a mid-card workhorse, like you say similar to The Miz as in a guy who can be relied upon to always deliver entertainment and bring prestige to a second tier title.

I wonder if NXT might see a feud between Dunne and whoever wins the newly created North American title, UK vs USA, perhaps they will even unify the belts as it’s not like they’ve done much of note with the UK title and the plans for a UK brand of WWE seem to have been shelved.

TBH I really do wish WWE would go all in on 205, because weight classes add a lot of intrigue. Imagine if Brock Lesnar were only 205 lbs and could compete against "X-cruiserweight champion" who do you think would win? That's a good theme to build on. If Adam Cole was 6 foot 4 and 240 lbs would he have been better or worse than CM Punk? Oh sure, Chris Jericho is WWE Champion, but if he were to cut weight he could fit back into the Cruiserweights were he began and have a whole new slough of competitors to take on, and maybe while he out-weighs them by 50+ lbs. he could beat them, maybe at a trimmer weight, their speed WOULD be enough to counter Jericho's experience and skill.

These kinds of discussions are good for wrestling.

Dunne is just the kind of guy where if he were 6 foot 4 inches tall, I think he COULD take Brock Lesnar, but being just real little guy Lesnar would squash him like a bug. IE pound for pound Dunne, and Neville is another one are one of the best WWE has seen in recent years, but because they're dinky little snausages Lesnar, at his size would just chew them up and spit them out.

If WWE went all in on 205 live and threw everyone below 6ft tall into the cruiserweight division, IE Styles, Bryan, & Balor just to name a few and give that division real exposure and discussion, and even the semi-regular main event spot on the PPV when it was warranted, then people would take it seriously and be completely fine with things. Then suddenly, guys like Dunne, Neville, Kalisto, Hideo Itami, Adam Cole, Rodrick Strong, Gargano and others would be just that much more important to making a show good because there's that possibility that if they get the fans attention even if they are competing for the cruiserweight title, they might still get the main event spot at a PPV, maybe even WrestleMania.

I know I would buy into a wrestlemania that had a main event of AJ Styles vs Daniel Bryan for the Cruiserweight Championship, and a semi-main of Asuka vs Rousey for the women's championship, and then in the UNDERCARD had Lesnar vs Reigns, & Orton vs Cena for the Universal and WWE championships.

Dunne is on fire right now and it looks like he will be facing Adam Cole Bay Bay at TakeOver Chicago.

I'm hoping Dunne gets the win because he needs a few more high profile victories.

For me, he is one of the names, along with Velveteen Dream, that really stand out and should be on the next list of call ups to the main roster
