Today, WWE announced a new pay per view called Payback. It is set to take place at the Allstate Arena in Chicago on June 16th. Anyone in Chicago, tickets go on sale March 23rd, same day as SummerSlam. Anyway, I'm interested to see what this pay per view will turn out to be, but it might end up like Capital Punishment, Fatal 4 Way, Breaking Point, and more recently, the returns of Vengeance and No Way Out. But still, it should be interesting to see how this one turns out

I know this had been said numerous time, but in my personal opinion, I think they should revert back to old In Your House system if they are going to be constantly changing around the names of PPV's and keep the traditional Big 4 maybe add in the King of the Ring. Always enjoyed that set up!

Capitol Punishment was a good idea; they had no name for the PPV, so they gave it a name based on where it was. it's like slagging off WCW for calling a PPV held on and around Halloween Halloween Havoc.

by yes, Payback sounds pretty shitty. it would only work if it was used to blow off feuds, which would require better booking than is currently WWE's ability right now.

Its unoriginal I will say. Like you said Monkee, sounds like this will be a PPV feud to blow off feuds from WrestleMania once and for all. But isn't that what Extreme Rules is meant for? I mean, the concept is pretty good at the moment I must say, because yeah, lets face it, you'll find it rare for a current rivalry to end right after the Grandest Stage of Them All, so much I rematch is inevitable. The good thing about Extreme Rules thoughs being directly after Mania, is that you get to see these matches with a special added stipulation, such as CM Punk/Chris Jericho last year, they ended up having what could be considered a better match then they did at the Show of Shows when they squared off in a Chicago Street Fight. I'm just using that as a example though.

Anyway, it does appear to be pointless of having a PPV in between WrestleMania and Payback (approximately a almost 2 month gap) , when the feuds are starting to fizzle out and die down in major way. So, to a majority of the fans out there, you'd think 2 matches in a row on PPV would be enough, but you add in a third, then you can grow tired of it very quickly.

They should take a cue from TNA and lower the PPV maybe to like 6 maybe 7 a year to have some kind of build up instead of doing re-runs of previous PPV's. Coming with this many "NEW" rebranded PPV's just hurts more the company than help it, i liked it more when HIC,MITB was a match and not a PPV, it made them special, now is more like a few matches trown in a PPV with them been the highlight

This! The June pay per view should be King of the Ring.

WWE see no need to lower the number of PPV's, as much as we fans can see how an extra couple weeks between each one would allow for more time to build up storylines and matches, WWE accountants just see how well each PPV performs. As long as the lesser PPV's make a profit the board will never allow the current PPV model to be scaled down.

I completely agree, It's stupid to come up with a new PPV or bring an old one back and then only use it once.

in order for you to agree with someone, don't they have to actually have said it?

where was this said? if it was a post prior to either of the 2 you wrote today, why not quote it so the person you are agreeing with can be given the credit for whatever it is you are agreeing with...

there's not much in a name; we're basically having the same debate we had when WWE named a PPV Over The Limit. there is no real meaning behind the name, other than to sound bombastic and make you think something major will happen.

if it's not leading to a particular match type, then it is just a name. let's face it, their top PPV is WrestleMania, yet the Mania part has always been for the celeb bit players and the pomp and circumstance.
