They misdiagnosed CM Punk's staph infection and now they're in a lawsuit over it. And they let Nikki Bella come back with no later issues or anything.

Something seriously needs to be done here about prematurely ending people's careers and misdiagnosing shit.

No one said that any of these stars can't work elsewhere but WWE simply will not risk them and given RVD's age as well that would be too much of a risk.

CM Punk was just an unfortunate accident where egos everywhere clashed.

Daniel Brian had to be pulled from the ring before he became the next Chris Benoit.

Paige couldn't feel her damn hands if you saw the video then you would see how scared she was by the loss of feeling in her limbs not to mention her previous  injuries around the neck area WWE simply cannot afford to have her in the ring becoming paralysed during a match, now if TNA or any other company want to risk that that's up to them but WWE are protecting themselves and these stars as well.

If you can't forge a career outside of WWE then it's not WWE's fault and they haven't screwed up anyone's careers. They very rarely refuse a release request and they still manage to create the greatest marketing push for even someone like Dallas or Crews who are rarely even on TV.

There's no spite. Since Benoit the WWE Doctors are more careful. Someone being paralysed in the ring in WWE is international news. It's million dollar lawsuits, sponsors pulling out instantly and, potentially, the end of the company. If Bryan goes to ROH and literally dies in the ring there'd be a lot of very sad people but ROH would do their tribute show and then continue with business as usual.

Exactly this.

ROH and TNA are non-existent in terms of the casual audience and mainstream attention so yes a death in the ring would be tragic but it wouldn’t bring a fraction of the unwanted attention WWE would receive.

The Benoit tragedy was a eye opener, that incident has left a black mark on the business that still hasn’t completely gone away and since WWE have introduced all sorts of measures such as banning certain moves, banning chair shots to the head etc, the wellness policy drug testing is stricter than ever and any neck/head/concussion etc related injury is treated with the maximum amount of duty of care with talent suffering from said injuries only being cleared to return to the ring by a WWE approved physician.

Given the number of wrestlers that have died tragically young over the years and considering the schedule these people work and the strain they put on their bodies you cannot blame WWE for being so cautious.

Its a shame if the injury does stop her from competing because she was one of the hottest talents (in a few ways) in WWE.

The video does make the kick look brutal but then thats because when you watch it you know something causes the injury.

There is no one to blame for this, part of signing up to be a superstar is knowing the risks involved with the business.

Her insta post is weird though - The comeback is always stronger than the setback - that makes it look and sound like she will return to competition at some point

If Paige is going to announce her retirement from in-ring action, it should be tomorrow at RAW from San Antonio.
It's over. It's ALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL over!

I'm not sure I agree with that statement.  If you're low on the card, sure.  If you're midcard or above, I'm not sure about that.  The situations with Paige, Neville, Daniel Bryan, and CM Punk are evidence of that.  Don't get me wrong, I can understand the business logic behind it, but I don't think WWE "rarely" denied releases.  I think it's quite often they don't.

Anyway, I digress - Paige's injury situation is really sad.  I'm not a fan of the girl - who she is or her work to be honest (I think she's kind of a scumbag), but she was miles ahead better than most of the women (particularly when she debuted amongst the "Divas").  She's also so very young, and had her whole life built around wrestling.  She didn't deserve this outcome.  I hope they can find her a managerial role - because if booked right, I can see it being very fun.  We haven't had a good female manager in YEARS, and she could break that mold if given the chance.

Is there any particular reason you think she's a scumbag ?

One idea I've had if Paige has to retire I would put her on the commentary either for SmackDown or raw as her knowledge alongside Corey Graves would be substantially helpful and she would be able to make commentary more interesting

Paige is pretty awesome. She's young and acting her age, to be sure, but she's a cool chick. Total Divas is a big reason I like her so much.

I'm tired of people like Daniel Bryan. They're the real scumbags as far as I'm concerned, self important holier than though douchebags.
