Through ECW’s New Superstar Initiative, developmental wrestler Sheamus made his much anticipated WWE debut on this past Tuesday’s episode of ECW, defeating enhancement talent Oliver John. Sheamus had worked numerous dark matches and live events for the RAW brand in recent weeks. In a trivia note, Sheamus was originally scheduled to be called up to the main roster shortly after April’s draft as a member of the RAW roster. Original plans called for him to be paired up with Hornswoggle, but it was ultimately nixed.

Thank goodness he didnt get brought up to work alongside the career killer, Hornswoggle, I think WWE did the right thing by having Sheamus come in on his own and hopefully they push him slowly but deservingly as he is a very exceptional talent, he has great charisma, a good look and he can wrestle.

as much as I would like to see "Irish Pride", Finlay and Sheamus, I would rather it wasn't turned into a joke like The Highlanders because of Horny.

Well, as Finlay has been moved to Smackdown now there's no chance of him and Sheamus teaming up unless Sheamus is moved as well.

Moreover: Hornswoggle's thankfully on Raw where all the campy stuff is, so all three are separate! Brilliant move for Sheamus's career, because Hornswoggle is a joke and with Sheamus and Finlay working apart for at least a year the anticipation for when they do interact is gonna be pretty cool.

Yeah and by the time Sheamus and Finlay get put together, hopefully Hornswoggle is released. Sheamus and Finlay though would've been nice if WWE had them team up on ECW, then having DJ Gabriel drop the DJ gimmick and come out as just plain Gabriel, team him with Burchall and there you have is a good Irish vs. English feud, but with Regal on ECW now, a Regal/Burchall tag team would be a better idea as Regal is all about English and Finlay is all Irish (there traits I mean, Finlay plays like a real Irish in drinking and fighting while Regal plays the real Englishman by being a gentleman, lol).

Don't get me wrong I like Sheamus; but if I didn't know that he was a close friend of Hunter Hearst Helmsley it would seem so random who was pushed (pushed at all let alone to a World Title). Sheamus' climb to the top was done well I though; better then they've done with anyone in years. He got the closest thing to a Brock Lesnar type push since Lesnar; and they made him look tough and a threat the whole way through. But they could have done the exact same thing, or a similar thing only slower, or an elevation to the top even without an actual World title reign, with any number of people.  Many thought they were gonna make MVP a World Champ a few years ago; and I myself was convinced at one time that Shelton Benjamin was destined for greatness. I've long thought Finlay was deserving of a Title reign. But no, they keep them down and push Sheamus to the Moon. It's so random.
