I think it is fair to say that the women's division in NXT deserves its own thread. It has had its ups and downs. Not too many years ago popular belief was that NXTs women's division frequently had matches that were better than many men's matches on the main roster. For the majority of the first couple years of NXT Takeover events the women's match was a legit draw and even a contender for match of the night every single time.

After the draft it has been in a slump with a sever drought of talent. Asuka and Bayley were basically the only ones worth a dman and the newbies looked terrible and lacked any real promise as far as in ring clinics were concerned.

Then came Ember Moon with her flipping twisting stunner off the top rope and her solid if basic moveset. She has since progressed and has filled the void left by Bayley reasonably well. Asuka desperately needs a successor before she stagnates. A heel turn will help, but even that can take her only so far without new talent.

However Nikki Cross with Sanity added a little bit more to the point where she looks quite promising herself, and now a new larger group of women have signed and a women's tournament has been officially (as compared to just being rumored for the last several months) announced.

Ruby Riot looks like she has some serious potential, Daria Berenato also looks to have potential, and with the divas of Peyton Royce and Billy Kay as well as Liv Morgan the women's division looks to be officially rebuilt, if not exactly the stellar roster that was the four horsewomen, Paige and Emma.

The important thing is that there is now enough variety and ring talent to make it watchable again.
