Normally i would do a full scale review but im not going to this time ....

Takeovers now have become guaranteed instant classics and most reviews would be saying the same each and every time

There were a few moments you need to keep an eye out for .....

The sheer athleticism of the War Raiders
The storytelling in Gargano v Ricochet
The sequence from potential black mass to hangman DDT to fairytale ending in Ciampa v Black

Those are just a few of the key moments from what was a phenomenal takeover event.

Hoping to see some NXT blood in the Rumble again this year

I ended up playing Dragon Quest 9 on the NDS with my 3 kids instead of really watching this. I had it on, but I didn't actually pay much attention. I can't give this a fair review. As a result this seemed ok.

One thing of interest I noticed though. Taken out of context, a lot of spots seem pretty lame. I think that might be said of any match, no matter how good. I wonder if this is why it can be so hard to win over people who actively dislike wrestling?

I remember looking up and seeing one of the war raiders do a handspring into the ropes before jumping into a double back elbow. Having barely watched the rest of the match until that point, my first thought was why would he do that instead of just running right through them like a freight train? The obvious answer is showmanship. But it then begged the question of psychology. Did it make sense in the context of the match until that point? I don't know. Would it have made more sense to just run through the much smaller guys? From my perspective it certainly would have.

Anyways, I'm not trying to crap on the match or the spot, but it's an interesting question on the psychology of a match IMO.

Also, another spot I saw out of context was Bianca Belair whipping Baszler with her hair so hard it left a gash in her side. That was friggin cool. I'm surprised it didn't bleed much, but that isn't an area that does bleed much at all until you get deeper into the soft tissue, so I guess there's that.

You make a fair point Rico, I think that's a big issue in today's wrestling that psychology and storytelling has been sacrificed for showmanship and over the top acrobatic spots, in other words flashy shit that realistically would have little to no impact.

I enjoyed the tag title match but now Undisputed Era have dumped the belts I'd like to see some fresh opponent's for the War Raiders. There are plenty of teams in NXT.

I loved Riddle vs Ohno, hard hitting and realistic, great match.

Ricochet vs Gargano was match of the night, incredible athleticism on display here, think a contender for match of the year.

Baszler vs Belair was solid enough although not sure I'm sold on Belair yet, still looks a bit untidy at times.

Enjoyed the main event a lot but it couldn't surpass Gargano/Ricochet, don't think it was quite as good as Black vs Gargano either but still a choice show closing effort.

Another great Takeover overall.
