The annual pre-Summerslam show was another decent showing from NXT.....

The tag-title opener between Undisputed Era and Moustache Mountain was good but these matches are starting to feel repetitive now, lots of spots and near fall kick outs, glad to see the War Raiders show up post match to inject some fresh blood in to the tag scene.

Loved ECIII vs Velveteen Dream, this was ECIII’s best showing in the ring so far proving he can hang in there, Dream was top notch as always and having Call me up Vince on his tights was a nice touch. Both these men are going to be stars on the main roster.

Ricochet vs Adam Cole was another choice effort although not as good as Ricochet vs Velveteen Dream from the last Takeover. Surprise result here so I’m guessing this feud will continue.

Shayna Baszler vs Kairi Sane was good and another surprise title switch, I’m thinking Baszler may be main roster bound.

The main event was very good but like the tag match it had a seen it before feel to it, I love Ciampa but Gargano is just Daniel Bryan-lite to me. The finish was a good piece of booking. I hope they keep these two apart for a while now and we get something fresh in the title mix.

Overall I would say not as good as the last Takeover but still a very entertaining show, well worth a look.

Maybe it was because this was the first major event I've seen since... WrestleMania? I've already forgotten, in a few months at least, but I enjoyed it. I didn't really mark out for much because I haven't been following the storylines, but I enjoyed the show regardless. I've never even heard of Mustache Mountain before, even though I know who the two guys were.

Depending on what actually happens, I might find Summerslam more enjoyable than this Takeover event.
