I've fallen out of touch with NXT lately but I made the effort to watch this show as it was hyped up as being as big a show as the Takeover events and it was presented as such.

I thought it was a really fun show, there was more of a sports entertainment flavour to this than NXT usually has and it worked well on this occasion at least.

The Halloween themed set looked great and Shotzi Blackheart seemed to be enjoying herself as host with a enthusiastic performance.

I liked that they had live music entrances for some of the talent as this always makes the show feel more special and gives the matches a big fight feel, for the first time for example Damien Priest came across like a big star. Decent Devils Playground(no DQ, falls count anywhere) match between Priest and Gargano to open the show and I enjoyed the big bump Priest took for the finish.

I paid little to no attention to Escobar vs Atlas, I like Santos Escobar as a character but have zero interest in the Cruiserweight division.

Rhea Ripley vs Raquel Gonzalez was fairly short but decent enough.

Pat McAfee cut a excellent heel promo, this guy is solid gold on a microphone as a heel. Pete Dunne then turned heel on Kyle O'Reilly and joined Team McAfee alongside Danny Burch and Oney Lorcan, interesting swerve.

I really enjoyed the cinematic Haunted House match between Cameron Grimes and Dexter Lumis, this was silly but it was great fun and the character work from Lumis and Grimes was top notch, really entertaining stuff.

Finally Io Shirai and Candice Le Rae had a really good TLC(named tables ladders and scares) match, Le Rae took a really nasty looking bump at the end and this was a full on hard hitting match from start to finish.

Good effort from the NXT brand. Recommend.

I quite enjoyed it but it wasnt a typical NXT event with the number of high quality matches.

Two things were notable to me:

Io Shirai re-emphasised that she is the best female wrestler on the planet
Pete Dunne returned- looks in incredible shape and turned heel

Those 2 things alone made the event worth watching for me
