Exactly and despite having a nice decent title run he's done jack shit since! Oh bar star in the failed attempt at Marine Mark 20000!

One way to do it would be for Nash to cost the rock his title shot and reveal Punk as the new leader of the NWO which would be formed from up and comers and some of the legends that recently came back. It could be used to build up a massive stable war against the well established wwe stars that could possibly run into the Mania after the next one.

Punk is only, what, 13 months removed from New Nexus? before that, he had the SES, if he starts another one, whether it be a poor man's NWO or not in name, it'll be a step back.

he doesn't need to lead a faction, he doesn't need to be a part of one, it'll just distract from his title run.

EDIT:

just been on Cageside, this was top of the page:

for anyone who doesn't want, or can't be arsed to, try the link, Nash has again Twittered about Punk reforming the NWO, calling on fans to wear the shirts - which they do anyway - carry the signs, and chant 'NWO' whenever Punk comes out.

oddly, he says that, if Punk reformed the stable and didn't pick Nash to be involved, he was cool with that. even odder, Punk has not tweated a thing since before Raw.

not reading into that that anything is in the works, just surprised Nash wouldn't mind not being in the spotlight, and that Punk has been so quiet about his name being bandied about for this.

I can imagine WWE are probably testing the waters to see how people would take to this. If they get the impression that they could get massively popular tweeners or major heel heat off of this, I think they'll be inclined to go with it for awhile, especially with the new nWo DVD they're working on and the fact that bringing back the nWo now plays perfectly into the whole conspiracy theory about the end of the world (or at least the free world).

The thing that would make this different from both SES and New Nexus is that the nWo is more of a selfish revolution than any kind of cult for one man to direct, so Punk would have different material to work with. In fact he could very easily build off some recent business decisions involving how he's categorically shown as a longtime WWE Champion that he's the best wrestler in the company yet still been treated as second-fiddle on the card to John Cena and everyone Cena happens to go up against, to add credence and motive to not only his new character as a heel in general, but to the group under his leadership.

Put together a stable of guys on the current roster with chips on their shoulders, as well as Nash as an advisor/mentor figure, and Big Show and a returned X-Pac (yes, he's old and a little fat, but he can still go in the ring and he seems to have cleaned up his act quite a bit out of character) as a tag team in order to justify the nWo name, and in my opinion it can very easily work if executed correctly. And I know one of the big knocks against the nWo back in the day was how it expanded to half the roster, but I would actually be cool with the idea of this group (if it happens) not going that far, but far enough to have one person on hand to go after each championship. (I'd even be down for including the Zack Ryder's Internet title, which I'd like to see start getting defended on Superstars as an actual belt).

The "indy guys" group idea I've seen bandied about, however, I'm not entirely sure about because these guys have already been introduced on NXT with new names, and thus it could be seen more as a Nexus ripoff being called nWo if it's done that way.

I'm not expecting the magic of the original. Heck, speaking of the name, I wouldn't even expect that the stable stays under the name of nWo the whole time - even if it starts out that way, Punk could easily have the name changed after three months or something. I'm just sensing an opportunity here for there to be a big summer thing where a group of heels varied in status come together under the banner of the Best in the World to actually become a credible threat for once. And WWE needs to pull something like this, to get us back on the road to making heel wrestlers in general be despicable again as well as just to shake up a little excitement in the air. Because a lot of people are getting tired of their faces for the most part being formulaic smiling SuperCena wannabes, seen as above reproach no matter what they do, who most heels should count themselves lucky to ever beat, all in the name of Be a Star and other hypocritical BS. (The comments in that link are more proof of my point there than the article itself, btw.)

Quote From Jim Ross Website

A follower on @JRsBBQ on Twitter asked if I thought @CMPunk would reform the nWo. I have no idea if this topic is any thing more than speculation based on my friend Kevin Nash having some fun with the subject on Twitter. Bottom line is that I don't know but I would be surprised if Punk headed up a faction at this time because he seems to be such a solitary man. The only way that I see that ever happening at this stage of Punk's career is if he had complete control on who comprised the group.

JR knows the guy well. Nash probably doesn't believe it himself and is simply using Twitter to keep his name out there as he's not been seen for a while.

Also would Punk leading a group work? He's led a group twice before and both times the groups were bad and didn't reach their potential at all.

Maybe he's not good enough to lead a group and get it over and would be best off staying on his own.

SES were a good group, they were lumbered into this poor feud with Big Show which killed it.

the feud with Rey was fantastic, so he can do it, but like Ross says, right now his character is a very solitary man, and it was only last year that he wound up New Nexus so he doesn't need it right now.

Interesting article confirming that NWO has been trademarked by WWE to possibly be used in a on screen capacity which of course suggests there may be a plan to resurrect the group on WWE tv.

If done right this could be a killer angle and would help put to rest the memories of WWE’s complete failure of previously introducing the original NWO which of course ended up being the last version of the group to date in any wrestling promotion.

It’s ridiculous to think they could bring back any original members now although I’d love to see Nash in a non-wrestling capacity, but realistically this would need to be a brand new version with brand new members.

I would go with a indie based version of the group and maybe include the likes of Finn Balor, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and then merge them with the Undisputed Era. Just a idea anyway there are countless directions they could go with it.

I could see KO, Zayn, Rusev, Cesaro, Sheamus and the UA as the new nWo. Balor could have a Balor Club/Bullet Club with a few new members maybe the Uso's, maybe the B team and Roode and have them warring on both Brands.
Y'know what?....It's really fucking hot here in Africa. Who knew?....Well me, I have been doing this for almost 5 years

nWo reboots always seem a cool idea and start off initially exciting before they add more and more members to the group until it's not exclusive anymore.

Won't ever work again IMO.
